Back2Basic: Foundations

As I stated, different textures of cleansers are more suitable for different skin types and conditions, this also applies to foundations.

Many of you ladies probably came across make-up artists, gurus and/or beauty bloggers stating that our face is like a canvas, in artistry. If you're like me with fewer skin conditions causing the skin to not be of a very smooth appearance, foundation is a MUST. It enhances the skin's appearance, cover up imperfections, even out your skin tone and provide a base for your make-up routine.

Foundations

You'll always apply foundation over your moisturizer. If you have normal-dry skin, it's better to wait until your moisturizer is completely absorbed into the skin and if you have normal-oily skin, you're better off with an oil-free or an oil-absorbing moisturizer.

Foundations are available in many different formulations:
  • Oil-based (suitable for dry skin)
  • Cream-based (suitable for dry skin)
  • Liquid (all skin types)
  • Compact
  • Cake (medium-heavy coverage, extra powder, suitable for normal-oily skin)
  • Primer/base -- colourless

Each product offers a different finish, such as:
  • Matte gives a shine-free finish with a powdery appearance. It can look like a mask if applied too heavily. Mature skin should avoid to achieve a very-matte finish as it could accentuate wrinkles! With a matte finish, it's preferred that you should add some colour to your eyes and lips.
  • Semi-matte is the MOST wearable finish and allows our skin to have a dewy, healthy sheen. It's quite suitable for every day wear.
  • Sheer/tinted foundations gives a light and natural finish. It's most suitable for almost-flawless skin.

So I hope that helps you and I know it's a 'duh' post, but some foundation beginners don't know this! So excuse me :P

My room is SO messy at the moment! I might clean it up and do a room tour post LOL... honestly...

Hope you find this post helpful!

Saturday/Sunday Steals #3 [pic heavy]

As you may know, I visit the Saturday and Sunday markets weekly, however more often the Sunday markets in Casula which is great!

I love the Sunday's markets better because Saturday is just too draggy and I really don't want to wake up on the first day of the weekends! Who does? Sleeping in for the win!

This is what Sunday markets usually look like:

Carpark

(above) This stand was going crazy! Everything was $1 each!
It's all bits and pieces of everything in there.
And towards the left side, there are shoes and toys! All for $1 each!

(above) Shoes of many different brands. They were $5 each pair and as you see! Decent quality, but you're only lucky if you share the same shoe size as the owner 8(

(above) this Vietnamese store sells body and hair products!
They say its imported from America, so yup. Cheaper than in-stores.

(below) Cause I'm Australian like that.
These are fly whackers which is also known as the ultimate spanking weapons for Asian families... LOL pwned!

(above) oh my!! Imagine you having to set these glass items out!
And packing them in later.. the dude wins a patience award!

(below) these are scents, but I really don't know how it works :|

(above) cutesy ipod/iphone cover!! I want an iphone/ipod, just for this!

(below) Sex and the City perfumes $5 each!

(above) This stand sells chips and snacks.
I wonder where they steal it from, because they're either expired or a few more days till their expiry date lul!

(above) ANIMALS TOO LOL

(above) Mummaphan & I

And later that day, we had to chase the ducks around 8(
They're going for $15 each or 3 for $50 in my backyard LOL
Should've taken these to the markets Y_Y

So yes, that's what the place looks like basically! It's set out in rows and rows consist of stands and stands consist of bits and pieces of everything! Some owners sells stuff as if it's new! Their items gets so expensive and overpriced. Some owners sells underpriced stuff.. and I will show you what I've brought today :)

LUCKY ME!

So today is Sunday and I've just came back after chillin' at the fish and chips shop with Mumma. She's gonna go out later, so I'd be all alone 8(

Anyways this is what I've brought today...

(above) Can someone tell me is this a shirt or a skirt? LMAO

These two items were up in the section with a sign "4 for $10". So I picked up these two items and Mummaphan picked up another two items for herself too. Yap. There were so many different brands and new-to-decent clothes in the section. I saw Lonsdale jeans, Cotton On, Entracete, Sussangrae and many many other brands. You know what's funny? I saw a shirt on the hanger from ASOS.com!
I giggled and was like 'WTF'. Hahaha! But too bad, the shirt wasn't pretty so I didn't pick it up :P

Walk walk walk.

A sweet girl was selling shoes for $2/pair! So I picked up two pairs for $4. She was so sweet! Poor girl, shoes are usually $5/pair.. so her shoes were under-priced and they're good as new..

You know what made me really happy? LOL

Keep scrolling...

I was look through a $1 box of cosmetics.

I found two Salley Hansen nail polishes which is obviously used, but that's okay. Because I picked up both for $2 altogether! Yay!

But this isn't what made me really happy...

.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.

.
.

Ta-da!

Hooray! A Sephora item! For $1! These are new too! I'm super happy!

I also found a guy selling SMASHBOX Cosmetics. There were blushers, eyeshadows and tube of gel eyeliner for $15. I really wanted the gel eyeliner, but he said he couldn't sell it individually. It had to go with the pack. So... boo... He also sold PurMinerals items and some other brands which didn't leave too much of an impression.

Then I kept walking and walking, I saw a box of cosmetics again from another stall. There were these teeny tiny nail polishes from Estee Lauder. The packaging looks a little bit dusty but it's from their Pure Color collection. He insisted $5 for both tiny polishes, but meh.. I don't want it. Maybe next time.

I also saw Ben Nye's white liquid eyeliner, but didn't ask because I doubt it's any cheap. That guy knows his cosmetics well... as well as the Smashbox guy.

I really wished they were noobs so I could've buy them out LOL. Oh I'm evil! :3

Yes.. so that's all for this week's cheapies!
Have a good day everyone!

P.S. Did I tell you, I saw Zoya polish kits too? LUL dammit!

Overview of GEO Circle Lenses: Tearful Series

G'day everyone! I've been blogging like a maniac these days. I just really want to the overviews of the GEO lenses over and done with and hopefully it's helpful for everyone who's looking forward to make a purchase on GEO Circle Lenses.

If you haven't checked out my previous posts, please do:
I think this is the last post that I will do for the overview and will be about the Tearful Series.

GEO Tearful (CM-838 and CM-839)

This series is perhaps, a long-lost forgotten series. I'm sure it had its time when it was all popular and all, same thing applies to the black circle lenses.

Not many people know of this series, but this was my second pair of circle lenses from when I started off. I was lured by the name 'Tearful' which is suppose to make your eyes look 'teary', no doubt.

Unlike other series, this series comes in the most natural colours: brown and grey!
There's really not much to say about this series, however, for pictures, click here >

Analysing into the design.. this series consist of a black border/rim, as you see. However, the black rim in this series are NO where as harsh as the Angels. It's very subtle and not that attention-capturing when worn, so therefore, you should have nothing to worry about.

There's three slanting flares from the rims and this is suppose to make your eyes looks 'teary', I suppose. This is a very unique design and is alot different from other series. It's quite unexplainable, but this series makes your eyes look really cool!

Definitely not recommended for people who look for a cover-up of their eye colours. However, this series is definitely going to enhance your eyes quite naturally.

Now, I have this is Tearful Brown, and as you may know, my eyes are not the darkest out of all eyes... when wearing Tearful Brown, I can see that the slanted flares is quite light, therefore, I do NOT recommend Tearful Brown for you if you have a dark eye colour.

If you have a darker eye colour, I recommend gray! It's a fun colour that will compliment your eye color more, instead of contrasting! However, if you like brown, go ahead!

On the other hand, if you have lighter eyes, you can play with both! Hooray!

This series offer:
  • Subtle eye-enlargement
  • Natural eye-colour enhancement

This is an overview of GEO Tearful series. All products were bought by ME. This is NOT a sponsored post. Please consider that this is within my experience and opinions, therefore, it matters from people to people.

Like I said, there's really not much to say about this series.. However, if you have any questions, please leave a comment!

I dont think I've missed any series.. unless you want a review of the animation series LOL jokes.
Hope that this post was helpful for all your circle lenses junkies!

Saturday/Sunday Steals #2

Hello everyone!!! :D

Thank you for your sweet sweet comments on my previous post! Honest has made my day :)
About the double eyelid tapes, I'll review them sometime soon! Or maybe just ramble on.

As you know, I go markets with my mum on Saturday and Sunday. Waking up quite early :) Man.. I should really be doing my assessment HAHA Not blogging! But I can't help it :P I love blogging!

Anyways, this week, I only went on Sunday because I stood up SO late on Friday night so I was quite tired. This is what I've grabbed.

How do I wear this? :$

This blazer, I think is VERY decent. It has no tears or anything.
It's like from store but without a tag. I don't know its RRP, but I got it for $5!

And I've also got 2 x 3/4 sleeved V-neck shirts for $2/ shirt and another black and white sleeved short for $2 too! I don't have pics because they're going in the wash first!

So I grabbed a blazer and 3 sleeved shirts for $12! The lady gave me $1 off, so that totals $11!

Oh, how much more of a deal can I really ask for?
That's all for today! Have a good night!

Yours deerest,

P.S. Sigma is having quite a few interesting deals on their special deals page! Have you checked?

My take on Gyaru makeup heh!

As you may or may not know... gyaru make-up is something I've always wanted to try! I love their look in general. So cute!

It's basically big lashes, big eyes, small lips and pink cheeks! I love their natural and clean eye make-up. As easy as it looks, I think it can become quite hard because that just means mistakes will become more obvious! And you'll also need to focus on very very clean and defined eyeliner.

Sorry galz! But this is my take on the gyaru-look. I really don't think it looks gyaru but I was totez inspired by Eki! I love her simple and clean everyday make-up.

I'd call this a gyaru, if not, an Eki-inspired.

If it's neither, then we shall call it a failed-gyaru attempt.

I started off with big false lashes and nude lips. And I was like... SOMETHING'S MISSING BRO.

How could I possibly forget the blush?!

I added a rosy pink blush, maybe a little bit too much... and also added a tint of pink to the beige lip colour... so there you go pink lips!

And adding more colours to the eyes...

Hehehehehe does it look anything like gyaru? Is there anything I'm missing?
To me, it kinda looks like just average defined look with rosy cheeks... Maybe I should make the lashes bigger and eyes more droopier next time?!

Oh, I don't know! Someone please tell me!
Need to go pack for TAFE now.. Bye!!

Oh & and as you're here, can you tell me which type of posts are you looking forward to? Reviews? Rambles? Rants? Factual articles like this?

I'm planning to post about product's textures that will suit your skin types/conditions. Anyone interested? Does anyone read my blog? ANYONE?!

Hahaha I'm just kidding! Post for you soon!

Overview of GEO Circle Lenses: Two-Tone Series + Three Tone (World) Series

After laying off a few posts about circle lenses, don't be lazy now!! :D

I've came up with this idea of overviewing GEO Circle Lenses. If you haven't checked out my previous posts, please do:
I think that I've made such a big accomplishment. Haha. I find that these posts, I've been so informative and including every teeny-tiny bit of information that you NEED to know, if you plan to make a purchase.

Today's post will be about about GEO 2-tones and GEO 3-tones.

GEO 2-tones (CM-72*)

The GEO 2-tone series is available in 5 different colours, the usual: purple, blue, green, brown and grey.

The GEO 2-tones consist of no black rim/border on the outside, nor does it offer much eye-enlargement within its own design.

I actually haven't ever had a chance to try out these lenses! I really wish I did though! Gahhh... I really can't tell you what the colours are like and anything else :(

What I can tell you is that.. these lenses SHOULD offer a natural look with no dolly-look & eye-enlargement. Why? Because these are the traits of 3-tones which is based on the same design, however with an extra tone (colour).

GEO 2-tones (CM-90*)

The usual, the GEO 3-tones is available in five different colours. This series is also known as the 'World Series' and probably most heard as the 'Tri-colours'. Sounds cool, hey?

The Tri-colour design differs to other series in many many ways! Let's state... this series:
  • has NO outer rim/border: therefore it does NOT make your eye looks too harsh! This means that it offers NO dolly-look. If you're looking for a dolly look, this is definitely not for you.
  • consist of three-tones in the design, hence its name '3-tones'. The design consist of a darker tone, a lighter tone and a common neutral brown/yellow across all 5 shades of the series.
  • consist of a yellowish-brown colour from the centre across ALL shades. Why? Because GEO/the designer believed that the brown from centre will look like the colour of your brown eyes slowly transiting to blue, purple, brown, etc. Because of this feature, many people believe that this series will offer the MOST natural look.
  • offers NOT MUCH enlargement. Not because it doesn't have a black rim. Not at all. The design just doesn't offer much enlargement AT ALL. If you're look for enlargement, this is not for you.
  • offers the MOST natural look.

In the end, this series offers:
- Natural look (NO eye-enlargement/dolly-look)

This is the easiest series to pull off without make-up. You definitely won't need defined eyes or anything like that. Nothing at all! Why? Because the it offers no eye-enlargement and the colours are SO subtle and easy to wear.

----------------------------------------------------------------
THIS POST ABOUT 3-TONES WILL NOT HAVE PICTURES AS I'VE ALREADY DONE A PREVIOUS REVIEW. I HAVE LINKED YOU THE POSTS.
----------------------------------------------------------------

Everything I know about this series:

*I have to say 3-tone Grey is the MOST popular pair of grey out of ALL series. I'm not sure how great is the colour's pay-off. But when you wear this, it will definitely show that you're wearing grey contacts! If you're searching for a natural lookin' grey, I recommend 2-tones and 3-tones grey! Raeview wore this pair in her latest video.

*Looking for a hazel-pair of contacts? 3-tone Brown is for you! I'm unsure how great the colour pay off is, but this is your hazel-eyes. Don't even bother with Angel Brown, Nudy Brown and Olive Brown if you're really looking for hazel-eyes. Do your research gals!

*Argh... 3-tone green! Here is my previous post of 3-tone Green. It definitely does have a great colour pay-off with minimum lighting. I do recommend if you're looking for a natural green. Not sure how this series will compete with other recent released series though.

*Tricolor Blue is my FAVOURITE! It offers such a NATURAL look! I can't stress over how natural it is! You won't see it with dull lighting, however it would look great in flash photography, dance lightings, sunlight and anything else with decent lighting! I love love love it! So natural. The colour isn't as light as Nudy Blue though. It's kind of dark. My previous post had a pic comparison between Tricolour & Nudy, etc.

*I'm not really sure about Tricolour Purple. I really have nothing to say! :$

Overview:
I do recommend this series if you're looking for the most natural look. Although circle lenses are meant to enlarge your eyes, this series kinda defeats the purpose. It offers VERY little eye-enlargement. I don't recommend if you're looking for an illusion of larger eyes.

Two-tones vs Three-tones
Although, 3-tones has the yellowish-brown in the centre of each colour lens.. I don't understand how it would offer more of a natural look. Each person has a different shade of brown eyes, not to mention that the yellowish-brown colour is so much lighter above average anyways. I don't see how it can blend into our natural eye colours. Do you get my drift?

So... two-tones or three-tones?
That's all totally up to you.

This is an overview of GEO 2-tone and 3-tone series. All products were bought by ME. This is NOT a sponsored post. Please consider that this is within my experience and opinions, therefore, it matters from people to people.

I'm afraid you haven't found this post so helpful. However, if any questions, please leave me a comment! Anything! Talk to me, my lovely readers! Lol :)

I think last & next up are the Tearful series! Has anyone even heard of them?

Skin Care Routine & Changes + Double Eyelid Tape

Skin. Care. Routine. Yes. Everyone of us has a daily skin care routine which consists of many different products to suit our skin type/conditions.

So I'm extremely happy to share with you my daily skin care routine for you today! First off, explaining to you my skin type/conditions of course.

Initially, I have extremely oily skin and severe acne as a condition. However, as I'm on RoAccutane, my skin has became severely dry with occasional breakouts.

Anyways, a routine typically follows as: cleansing, exfoliating, toning and moisturizing.

Of course, that's not always the case. You can always add extra steps such depending on what's up with your skin. For example, if you wear make-up, you would need extra products such as eye-makeup removers, make-up removers, facial wipes, facial peels, serums etc.

So here's my skin routine to suit my extremely dry skin. I hope you find this helpful for you too!

For the previous fewer months, I've been using B.Liv Drench Me by Cellnique which is a gel-based cleanser. I find myself having to use their moisturizer booster and then ANOTHER moisturizer over the top to make my skin look less drying. However, it still flakes during the day.

So recently, I've switched to a cream-based cleanser by Neutrogena, Deep Clean Cream Cleanser which is Oil-Free. I find that the cleanser works best for me. My dry skin has got much less flakier than before. So I've been neglecting Drench Me, yes.

I don't exfoliate THAT often, however, when I do, I do switch choices between St. Ives Ultra Gentle Apricot Scrub and MAC Microfine Refinisher. I do reach out for my MAC Microfine Refinisher more often though. I like that I can see my dead skin cells being scrubbed away better than nothing at all.

On another note, after cleansing in the morn', I apply my QV Face Moisturising Day Cream SPF30+ and then top it off Dove's Essential Nutrients Protective Tinted Moisturizer SPF15.

Why so many?

Because my skin is THAT dry and the tinted moisturizer will have a flaky finish. This bothers me! I can't tend to get that 'perfect canvas' to go on with my foundation routine (but that doesn't stop me).

I'm loving this routine, because my foundation doesn't end up flaky anymore... bye bye dry skin!

Just by changing to a cream cleanser and adding another moisturizer has helped my skin so much! Love it!

For anyone who has extremely dry skin, I do hope that you pick out some of the products and do a good research about it. And hopefully it will help you too!

I hope that you enjoyed reading this post!

On another-nother note, I have recently purchased this! Double Eye Lid Tape! Cheap ones! I'm gunna use these cheap ones first and see how it goes :) Then I''ll then decide to invest in anymore or not.

Is that suppose to say Shiseido? LUL

Anyways, this is what I look like with it on! I love double eyelids 8)

ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM!

Yes, there's a difference. I do have double eyelids naturally. However, they are quite small. I'd like my eyelids to be a bit more thicker... just enough so you can see my eyeliner when I like my eyes :)
Because when I line my eyes without these tapes, my eyelids almost shows up as monolids...

Yes! That's all!

Remember to shower me with lovely tweets!! :D http://twitter.com/the_beautifool
