New On Counter: April 2015

It was a MIA March for me. Nothing much happened, except study loads from uni, and also, a really bad Tuesday. And I really mean it.

May April be a better month for me!

Looking forward to ya April! Just minus April's fool.

BENEFIT Roller Lash Mascara ($38.00)
I'm sure you have heard about the launch of this one! I've reviewed it here, as a part of TMUS' Mystery Mascara challenge. Benefit describes this as an innovative curling mascara with a hook'n'roll brush that catches, lifts and curls lashes. Adding to that, has a 12-hour curve-setting formula, and is easy to remove.

On counter: 11 April 2015

BIORE
Biore is launching three new additions to their range this month. Very pretty packaging, but I don't struggle too much with pore problems, so...

  • Charcoal Pore Minimiser ($10.99), a facial exfoliator that removes impurities.
  • Deep Cleansing Charcoal Pore Strips ($7.34/6 strips)
  • Pore Penetrating Charcoal Bar ($4.99), a deep-cleansing bar that removes impurities whilst gently exfoliating.

BURT'S BEES Vanilla Bean Moisturising Lip Balm ($6.95)
Yummmmmmm. Sounds so yum! It is what it is, just an addition of natural vanilla. Good stuff, huh?

CARMEX Jasmine Green Tea Lip Balm ($5.99)
Another yummy lip balm, but this is a squeeze tube. With Jasmine Green Tea though!!! Tea!!!!! Sounds so good. I wouldn't mind having the scent of tea lingering around my lips all day. Hehe.

INNOXA
All are on counter late-April.

Anti-Ageing Make Up Setting Spray ($14.95/50mL) -- I never care too much for after-sprays, but the name of this one is just whack. ANTI-AGEING? Apparently besides hydrating and smoothing the skin after make-up application, it also minimises shine, the appearance of pores and softens the look of fine lines and wrinkles.

Eyeshadow Palettes ($14.95/2 palettes) contains four coordinating eyeshadow colours to create a range of looks. Crease-proof and long-lasting.

Full Colour Lip Creams ($14.95/6 shades) -- Non-drying and combines features of a lipstick and lipgloss. Another lip-cream product to hit the counters?! Woo.

LUSH Easter Offerings L/E Collection
OMGGGGGGGG. Another LUSH collection! I'm always egg-cited to see LUSH products. Yay, yay, YAY!

  • Bunch of Carrots Reusable Bubble Bar ($9.95)
  • Fluffy Egg Bath Bomb ($6.50), fairy floss scented.
  • Golden Egg Bath Bomb Melt ($6.50), honey and toffee scented.

  • Hoppity Poppity Bath Bomb ($5.50)
  • Immaculate Eggception Bath Bomb ($11.95), scented with vanilla, lemon and grapefruit. The outer layer can be cracked open to find a mini chick or bunny bath bomb. The yellow/green contains the bunny, and yellow/pink contains the chick!
  • Pot O' Gold Shower Jelly ($6.95/100g)
  • Somewhere Over The Rainbow Soap ($6.95/100g)

All are ADORABLE!

NUTRIMETICS Neutraleyes Eyeshadow Palette ($55.00)
I don't usually feature Nutrimetics, but I thought this was an interesting one. Don't you think? Reminds me a lot of the NAKED palette, and the price tag is around there too (eek!).

SUKIN
OH MY GOD. Every brand is really hitting is this month, with all these egg-citing products. Really! Sukin is one of them too. Check out what they have to offer:
  • Botanical Body Wash in Lime and Coconut ($11.95)
  • Hydrating Body Lotion in Lime and Coconut ($19.95)
  • Micellar Cleansing Water ($9.95) -- Whaaaat. That price tag too!

Also launched a new range, Super Greens..

  • Detoxifying Clay Masque ($15.95), which draws out dirt and impurities.
  • Detoxifying Facial Scrub ($12.95), a facial exfoliant that deeply cleanses pores.
  • Facial Recovery Serum ($17.95), a serum that contains a lot of things (lol) to deliver a healthy glow to the skin.
  • Nutrient Rich Facial Moisturiser ($12.95)

ULTA3 AW15 Limited Edition Collection
A spankin' new collection by Ulta3 for this year's Autumn/Winter, featuring metallic shades to add glam to your beauty look! Yippeeeeee?!

Matte Glitter Nail Polish ($3/5 shades)
I'm actually curious if this has a matte finish, cause that'd look hot. Says nothing about having a matte finish on their press release!

Metallic Cream Eyeliner ($5.95/4 shades)
Described to be of a "striking foil finish" whilst having a feathery light feel and glides smoothly upon the skin.

SALLY HANSEN Miracle Gel Shades ($16.95/5 NEW shades)
Five new shades to add to their existing (and well loved) Miracle Gel Shades! Here they are:

RIMMEL LONDON Radiance BB Cream ($12.95/3 shades)
A 9-in-1 skin perfecting SUPER makeup (what is super makeup?): primes, smooths, conceals, helps minimise the appearance of pores, natural coverage, moisturises for 24 hours, awakens and brightens!

There are a few more products that I'd like to include, but this post is getting waaay too long, and I don't think they are interesting enough (some of them were launched last month), so I've figured that I'd post them on my Facebook page instead!

If you like them beauty updates (or like me) then do hop over to ma Facebook page!

Meanwhile, help a mate by filling out this poll:

For me, I'll definitely try out Sukin's Micellar Cleansing Water with hopes that it could be the cheapest, yet most efficient micellar cleansing water!

Summer Break

I'm getting lousier and lousier with titles, I really have no idea what to name my posts anymore~

I was thinking of Discontinued: Summer Break for today's feature, as it's no longer sold in stores.... I think it's discontinued from their recent Beach Cruisers collection.

I've still decided to post about Summer Break ($5.35) though, in hopes that they may still be available to purchase at some Priceline stores.

It's a gradient blush guys! Yes! A gradient blush!

I really liked the look of this blush when I first saw it as a part of their collection's release. Never really thought too much about it though. I was worried it may not be pigmented and Priceline never had testers. Didn't seem like I needed another blush anyways.

However, after receiving this to trial, it quickly became my most-reached for blusher as of recent! I've been loving coral FOTD's and my favourite lippy to go to would be Sportsgirl Pout About It Lipstick in Fruity Tingle.

The only problem I have with wearing this shade is that, I have zero blusher to match its tone. The coral blushers I own are just very off, and you see, I have this thing with making sure that my lippy and blusher are 100% matched (never will you see me with pink cheeks and coral lips).

Wearing: Coral shades

Summer Break is such a beauty though. A spectrum, as you could see, from red to a light coral. Adds to my collection of corals AND makes itself the first red in my collection! Yay!

And the pigmentation... thumbs up!

The long-lasting power lasts on my dry/normal skin throughout the day, so that's good too. Can't find any fault in this one, except that the packaging is a tad flimsy. Drop and you can greet it bye-bye..

Wearing: Coral shades

Definitely a keeper, and one I'd recommend if you're after some convenient corals!

P.S. I hope the colour shows up on your screens!! Eeeeep.

#FFS Tuesday!

OK. I follow a blogger who does this weekly post of FFS Friday, where we get to peek through her personal life AND her struggles (usually has to do with moherhood). It's Beautifully Glossy, so let me just give cute credits to her!

Mine's a bit off today, FFS Tuesday.

Why?

Because today (Tuesday) has been a poo day. Totally shit. Unluckiest day ever! Let me run you through okay?

After Mum has left for Vietnam, sister won't accompany with house chores. FFS.

She's 20, not 12. FFS.

Kept waking up so many times throughout my sleep last night. FFS.

Did two baskets of laundry, and the moment I finish, walked in, it started to sprinkle. FFS.

Now I have no pants to wear. FFS.

Dropped by Priceline for their 40% OFF sale, couldn't find Australis' Lash Length Extensions mascara. FFS.

With thoughts that they had discontinued my close-to-HG mascara, my heart sank to my stomach. FFS.

Drove so far for nothing. FFS.

Drove outside of car park, hit the curb so hard that my tyre popped. FFS.

My mum would kill me if she knows about this... FML.

Called a male-friend to rescue, and he half comforted me, but also half scolded. FFS.

Came home for another sandwich, and found out that the next slice had mould. I ate a pair in the morning without realising... FFS & FML.

Had to go replace that whole tyre, $140 gone and I'm already so short on moola. FFS.

Came home and sister had an asthma attack, so had to take her to hospital. Kinda FFS. Just because all these are coming after one another!

Whole day ate only 1 pair of sandwich, stomach was hungry af... FFS.

Despite these shit coming after one another, there were some yays of the day:

Male friend came to rescue me! YAY!

A random boy approached me and asked if I needed help when my tyre popped! YAY!

So many people offered to come help me! YAY!

This boy, probably the quietest boy on Earth, drove me to find the exact same wheel! YAY!

We talked, and I got to know a tad more about him! YAY! SUPER YAY!

(I've known him for two years and max we've talked is probably like, 50 lines. He is that quiet).

My Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz also arrived today! YAY!

Yay for longer, lasting brows~

Okay, that's enough for today. I'm sure you've had enough of me. I'll get back to beauty blogging soon. This week has just been hectic...

May things be better tomorrow... I've been so tired of everything.

Mani-Monday: Scuba Diving in the Sea-quins!

This is probably the most blingy combo I've ever whipped up.

I felt blue a few days ago, but I didn't feel like Serenity, nor did I feel like the regular candy blues. I was looking for something extremely blingy, so as I scanned through my nail collection, there was Sea-quins by Maybelline ($5.95), which I've never used before.

I whipped on two coats of that, but because it's so chunky, it didn't cover every space of my nails. I would've needed quite a few coats for it to be 100% opaque.

So the second time I tried it, I reached for Let's Go Scuba Diving by Face Of Australia (discontinued, $4.95) to use as a base. Very similar teal colour to Sea-quins, so I figured it'd be perfect!

And it IS!

It's one of the prettiest blue blings I've ever had on ma nails!

With Let's Go Scuba Diving as a coat, I only needed two thin coats of Sea-quins for the blingy effect, without having to worry about any gaps~

So glad to have Sea-quins in my collection, although I don't ever remember purchasing it. Eep. I was never sent any Maybelline products though, so it must be my sister who purchased it!

I think this may be the only polish I have from Maybelline's SEQUINS range, so... you know what that means...

Need to look for more! Heheh..

Disclosure: Products were purchased by me.

Sat-Swatches: NYX Soft Matte Lip Cremes

Yay! This post is finally going up!

Lippy swatching is one of my favourite posts to do! Why? Because I LOVE lippies, AND I LOVE selfies! Hooray! A bit of a camwhore-r here, if you couldn't already tell!

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cremes for today's feature, one of my favourite lip products.

It's soft, formula-wise and how it looks like on the lips.

Depending on the shade, the pigmentation may not be one-layer-level opaque. For some shades, it may take two, and for one of these shades, it definitely applies streaky. However, I really enjoy the formula of these. They feel like nothing on the lips and gives a soft look.

Top: Addis Ababa, Amsterdam, Monte Carlo
Bottom: Stockholm, Tokyo, Milan, Antwerp

The downfall: they're only semi-matte and the lighter shades aren't very long-lasting. Perhaps semi-matte because they're labelled to be "soft matte". However, as for their lasting power, the darker shades do stain, therefore will [appear to] last longer.

THE BIG QUESTION!
They wear without drying for the first fewer hours, but after a few hours, you could definitely feel the colour sinking in between the lines~ Only slight touch up is required for the darker hues, but I'm sure full reapplication will be needed for the lighter ones!

OK FUN SWATCHY-SWATCHY TIME!

Tokyo, let's get this one out of the way! It looks incredibly UNflattering on me. It's my skin tone up against the coolness and paleness of the shade! It's also extremely streaky, for me.

Stockholm is one of my favourite nudes. I used to wear it to uni with subtly smoked out bronze eyeliner. LOVE! It's kinda salmon-toned, so it doesn't take too much effort to pull off. Has never made me look dead anyways.

Milan is one I thought I'd really like since the shade on the packaging looks like it's totes ma thang. But on the lips, it's a tad cool-toned for me. My skintone can still pull it off, however, it's not my favourite pick~

Antwerp, one of my favourites! Never knew I had it until I dug it out from my collection! The colour on the packaging is soo pretty. Such a lovely coral. It goes on nicely, and looks lovely too. I wish it was a tad brighter though. Would add a nice oomph.

Addis Ababa is the most disappointing of the bunch. Not for anything, but the shade. It just doesn't look like its packaging. It applies totally different, extremely toned down! Only looks slightly different and deeper than Milan, methinks.

Amsterdam, another one that I never knew I had! It's warm-toned, like a tomato-red. The brighter of the two reds I own. Will find more occasions to sport this ^_^

Monte Carlo is the shade that I've used the MOST. It's my go-to red for clubbing nights before Rimmel's Provocalips stepped into ma life. Mainly because it's the most long-lasting out of my reds, and the formula stains and is pretty transfer-resistant.

Swatches done! I used to own one more, which I mentioned as part of my top 5 pinks in 2014. Sadly, not too long ago, I found it in my sister's room BROKEN!

That feel when your sibling uses your items and doesn't take good care of it. Urgh. #TFW.

Have you ever tried these Soft Matte Lip Cremes?!

If you haven't you definitely should! I don't think they're worth the Australian RRP, however, their eBay price? Definitely worth it! Just make sure to pick your shades wisely (and do some more research).

NEW ON COUNTER: Bourjois, essie, Revlon, L'Oreal, Garnier, Nivea, Palmer's [...]

Late launches this month. Reason? I was waiting for the 30th or 31st to procrastinate on this launch post, but it wasn't until one night when I went out that I realised it's Feb, and Feb only has 28 days! /lol

Such a bimbo, I am~

{MAKE UP}

BOURJOIS PARIS

It's not usual to see an eyeliner as part of a limited edition collection [for the drugstores]. These are described to be "eyeliners with a pigment as black as calligraphy ink". Long-lasting and smudge-proof for up to 24 hours.

Colour Edition 24H Eyeshadows ($20/2 shades)

Volume 1 Seconde Ultra Black Mascara ($23)
They've launched a similar product before, with a similar name, except this one is "Ultra Black" with claims to last up to 16 hours. Ultra-volumising, long-lasting and and ultra-black.

NUDE BY NATURE

Pressed Matte Mineral Bronzer ($39.95)
A matte bronzing powder that provides skin a warm, sunkissed glow. Why so expensive?! @_@

Pressed Mattifying Mineral Veil ($29.95)
Light weight, semi-matte pressed finishing powder, suitable for all skin types.

Pressed Natural Mineral Cover ($39.95)
Pressed powder foundation that pvodies medium to full coverage.

REVLON Ultra HD Lipstick ($23.95/20 shades)
Lippies!!!!!!! Yay! These lippies feature high-definition gel technology (wat dat???) to provide intense colour in one coat. Weightless, applies evenly, and has a whipped vanilla and mango scent (sounds yum!).

RIMMEL Apocalips Lip Velvet Matte ($15.95)
No idea how many shades these are in, and I also don't have any information, but I'm sure you have heard much about these!

MAX FACTOR Creme Puff Pressed Powder ($24.95)
A pressed powder which offers a superfine, matte coverage. Claims to stand the test of time. Also described to give a soft, luminous and subtle glow...... Huh?

{NAILS}

L'OREAL Colour Riche Le Vernis The Shades of Grey Collection ($7.95/6 shades)
OMGGG. Another nail collection, dedicated to 50 Shades Of Grey (although they don't officially state it, it totally is!). Has anyone watched the movie?? How did it go?!

Don't ask me why there at 7 bottles

{SKINCARE}

GARNIER Skin Naturals 2 in 1 Express Eye Makeup Remover ($7.95)
Launched last month, apparently. The packaging reminds me a lot of their Micellar Cleansing Water! This is a dual-phase eye make up remover though, with 30% oil and 70% water. Works to remove intense, long-wearing, waterproof eye makeup. Lightweight, and doesn't leave an oily film.

NIVEA Cellular Anti-Age
Three new products in this range~ Includes a day cream SPF15 ($27.99), an eye cream ($27.99) and a night cream ($27.99).

PALMER'S Illuminating Brightening Eye Serum ($14.99)
Firms and moisturisers the delicate skin around the eys. Works to hydrate, lift and illuminate the skin, whilst helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines and dark circles. I've used something like this before, and wasn't too impressed. So I'd pass.

Think I've included most items!

What are you eye-ing?!

Don't think there's much for me this month. The Apocalips Matte looks nice, but for the upcoming Autumn, I'm thinking to give dark lippies a go, so currently, not looking to add anymore to the stash!
