NEW ON COUNTER (Nov 2016): Australis, Designer Brand, Marc Jacobs, Nutrimetics, Eye of Horus

Guess who's finally off? Guess who's practicum block is over? Guess who's assessments are finally OVER?

GUESS. WHO?

M E !

Woooooooooooooooo. Let's celebrate with a quickie (quick launch post, I mean)!

Let's go! #ytb

EYE OF HORUS Bio Lash Lift Mascara ($38)
First time featuring this brand. Their new mascara is designed to not only add length and volume, but also nourishment to the lashes whilst promoting growth! 100% vegan and 98% organic, according to data and statistics.... lmao, jk. According to the brand, of course!

AUSTRALIS Match Maker Shade Adjusting Drops ($19.95/2 shades)
Ahh, launched after the well-loved Shade Adjusting Drops by The Body Shop... these drops are supposed to perfect your foundation colour by matching the shade to your skintone. Handy for transitioning between winter and summer seasons, methinks.

MARC JACOBS Daisy Shine Edition ($120/100mL)
O H M Y G O D ! New packaging from Marc Jacobs! Probably haven't mentioned this yet, but I've been such a big MARCS fan since the beginning of last year. Still am, and probably will always be. Love their scents. Love their packaging! And everything!

Well, now you can get the classic Daisy scent in three metallic-hued bottles: red, gold and pink. I'm pretty sure the scent remains the same with notes of wild strawberry, violet, jasmine petals, gardenia, musk, vanilla and white woods.

Aw maaaaan, drools~

NUTRIMETICS Professional Smokey Eyeshadow Palette ($65)
All I have to say is....... another day, another palette.

DESIGNER BRANDS Matte Lipstick ($9.99/6 shades)
Limited edition lipsticks with a matte finish. Long-wearing formula, not sure how long these will stay on shelves for. They have reds, plums, corals, pinks -- a wide range of shades. Go get emmmmm (and let me know how they go, hehe).

DESIGN BRANDS Spray & Set Makeup Setting Spray ($9.99)
Apparently, this was launched two months ago, but thought I'd give it a feature since the hot summer temp is just right around the corner for us Aussies. Might need it.

Yup. That's all! So fewer products this month. On the brighter note, that also means we all get to save. Yay!

The most festive season of the year is just around the corner (Christmas)... calls for some solid financial planning skills, y'know?

On financial planning, here's a fun meme I'd like to share:

HAHA.

Have a lovely week everyone!

NEW ON COUNTER (NOV 2015): Rimmel London, Australis, Natio, Clinique, Bobbi Brown, MAC, Nutrimetics

Hope everyone had a spooky non-pukey Halloween!

This month's launches will also include some Christmas listings, as these Xmas specials are set to launch in November anyways. Thought I'd include them here.

I've only included SOME that I found appealing (mainly make-up too, cas that's what I'm all about heh), because there are 325165653 products! ◑.◑

Nevertheless, it'll still be a loooooooooong post, so get ready to scroll!

RIMMEL LONDON Match Perfection Foundation SPF20 ($18.95/8 shades)
I'm such a big fan of Rimmel's foundations. It is probably my go-to brand for foundations, so I do wonder what this one's like as it's claimed to be "designed to be perfect" by providing protection and hydration for the skin. It's apparently weightless, traceless and provides skin caring coverage. Formulated [somehow] to provide 24 hour moisture and SPF 20 protection! However, the shade range only seems to cater for the very light to medium/dark. Eep.

I also wonder if it's a revamp of the range, or a brand new range?

RIMMEL LONDON Fix & Protect Makeup Primer with SPF 25 ($13.95)
A make-up primer that helps skin stay matte for up to 7 hours. Claims to protect the skin against pollution, filters out UV rays and has SPF25 to help prevent hyperpigmentation.

AUSTRALIS Tanning Collection
I don't know why, but it's no longer surprising to me when cosmetic brands take on tanning products. I guess, after seeing Rimmel and Face Of Australia doing it, it kinda died down for me? Haha, not a tanner anyways, so it never really appealed. It might to you [for this summer] though!

  • Tanning Let's Go Steady Face Moisturiser ($19.99) -- a streak-free tanning lotion for the face, with a streak free finish. A lightly-tinted and non-sticky lotion that gradually builds over the next days. Suitable for all skin types, fast drying.
  • Tanning Let's Go Steady Body Mosturiser ($19.99) -- claims are same as above.

  • Tanning One Night Tan Off Mousse ($19.99) -- a no-commitment wash off tan with a streak-free finish. Suitable for all skin types, Water and transfer resistant, fast drying.
  • Tanning Rapid Aerosol ($22.99) -- A streak-free self tanning spray.

  • Tanning Rapid Lotion ($22.99) -- Streak-free tanning lotion, suitable for all skin types. Provides a chocolate coloured tan.
  • Tanning Rapid Mousse Chocolate Base ($22.99) -- A chocolate-coloured tanning mousse.
  • Tanning Rapid Mousse Purple Base ($22.99) -- A purple-tinted chocolate coloured tanning mousse. The blend is [apparently] ideal to counteract orange tones in medium/olive skin tones.

  • Tanning Mitt Application ($22.99) -- Aaaaaaand how could we miss a tanning mitt! A pack of three tannning mitts, designed with micro-sponge technology. Includes an exfoliating mitt, body application mitt, mini-face application mitt.

NATIO Blushing Blooms - Cream to Powder Blushes ($13.95/4 shades)
These are blushers which accentuates the cheekbones with a pop of radiant colour. Offers a dewy tint, and also builds easily.

NATIO Blush Blooms - Rich Lip Colours ($12.95/4 shades)
Lip crayons which promises opacity and moisture. Convenient packaging, as they are retractable and offers a sleek velvet finish.

CLINIQUE Quickliner for Lips Intense ($32/12 shades)
A mechanical lip liner promises a creamy texture, convenient application and intense colour. Water resistant.

ESTEE LAUDER Double Wear Makeup To Go Liquid Compact ($68/12 shades)
A foundation that is, supposedly, ideal for all skin types as it features a-lot-of-things-that-even-if-I-list-em-we-probably-won't-know-what-they-are (lol) to hydrate the skin and reduces the appearance of wrinkles.

REVLON Fiery Temptress Collection
Limited edition collection, by Revlon! Park of their Summer/Spring for 2015/16.

  • Highlight Palette ($26.95/1 quad)
  • Nail Polish ($13.95/2 shades)
  • PhotoReady Primer + Shadow ($25.95/1 quad)
  • Matte Balm ($17.95/4 shades)
  • Kajal Eye Pencil ($23.95/1 shade)

NOEL NOTES
"Ho ho ho," says Santa, but my pocket be like.. no no no! (ノдヽ)

CLINIQUE Make-Up Gift Packs
Clinique, at this time of the year, is setting off so many gift packs. I'll just leave em here for anyone who's interested -- the photos and prices only.

All About Nudes Gift Pack ($49)

Chubby, Chubbier, Chubbiest Gift Pack ($49)

Power Up The Drama ($38)

Pretty Wow, Pretty Now ($85)

Primed, Pink & Plush ($70)

MAC
I'm not exactly sure what these products placed under. I think, they may just be random Christmas pop-up products, but I may be wrong. Feel free to correct me in the comments below, if you know!

  • Enchanted Eve Warm Eyeshadow Compact ($80): Shades include Seasonal Split, Moodmaker, Sax Appeal, Bewitchin', Charcoal Brown, Retrospeck.

NUTRIMETICS Vibrant Liquid Eyeliner ($26/4 shades)
Liquid eyeliners with a high-impact colour.

NUTRIMETICS Nude Eyeshadow Palette ($65)
Yet another brand's play on Urban Decay's NAKED palette~

Aaaaaaaaaand that's the story of why I've only got $20 in my pocket for this holiday season, lol.

No, I'm kidding.

There are so many items this month, but not really intrigued by any. Are you?

online polls

Let me know, ha!

31 March 2015

New On Counter: April 2015

It was a MIA March for me. Nothing much happened, except study loads from uni, and also, a really bad Tuesday. And I really mean it.

May April be a better month for me!

Looking forward to ya April! Just minus April's fool.

BENEFIT Roller Lash Mascara ($38.00)
I'm sure you have heard about the launch of this one! I've reviewed it here, as a part of TMUS' Mystery Mascara challenge. Benefit describes this as an innovative curling mascara with a hook'n'roll brush that catches, lifts and curls lashes. Adding to that, has a 12-hour curve-setting formula, and is easy to remove.

On counter: 11 April 2015

BIORE
Biore is launching three new additions to their range this month. Very pretty packaging, but I don't struggle too much with pore problems, so...

  • Charcoal Pore Minimiser ($10.99), a facial exfoliator that removes impurities.
  • Deep Cleansing Charcoal Pore Strips ($7.34/6 strips)
  • Pore Penetrating Charcoal Bar ($4.99), a deep-cleansing bar that removes impurities whilst gently exfoliating.

BURT'S BEES Vanilla Bean Moisturising Lip Balm ($6.95)
Yummmmmmm. Sounds so yum! It is what it is, just an addition of natural vanilla. Good stuff, huh?

CARMEX Jasmine Green Tea Lip Balm ($5.99)
Another yummy lip balm, but this is a squeeze tube. With Jasmine Green Tea though!!! Tea!!!!! Sounds so good. I wouldn't mind having the scent of tea lingering around my lips all day. Hehe.

INNOXA
All are on counter late-April.

Anti-Ageing Make Up Setting Spray ($14.95/50mL) -- I never care too much for after-sprays, but the name of this one is just whack. ANTI-AGEING? Apparently besides hydrating and smoothing the skin after make-up application, it also minimises shine, the appearance of pores and softens the look of fine lines and wrinkles.

Eyeshadow Palettes ($14.95/2 palettes) contains four coordinating eyeshadow colours to create a range of looks. Crease-proof and long-lasting.

Full Colour Lip Creams ($14.95/6 shades) -- Non-drying and combines features of a lipstick and lipgloss. Another lip-cream product to hit the counters?! Woo.

LUSH Easter Offerings L/E Collection
OMGGGGGGGG. Another LUSH collection! I'm always egg-cited to see LUSH products. Yay, yay, YAY!

  • Bunch of Carrots Reusable Bubble Bar ($9.95)
  • Fluffy Egg Bath Bomb ($6.50), fairy floss scented.
  • Golden Egg Bath Bomb Melt ($6.50), honey and toffee scented.

  • Hoppity Poppity Bath Bomb ($5.50)
  • Immaculate Eggception Bath Bomb ($11.95), scented with vanilla, lemon and grapefruit. The outer layer can be cracked open to find a mini chick or bunny bath bomb. The yellow/green contains the bunny, and yellow/pink contains the chick!
  • Pot O' Gold Shower Jelly ($6.95/100g)
  • Somewhere Over The Rainbow Soap ($6.95/100g)

All are ADORABLE!

NUTRIMETICS Neutraleyes Eyeshadow Palette ($55.00)
I don't usually feature Nutrimetics, but I thought this was an interesting one. Don't you think? Reminds me a lot of the NAKED palette, and the price tag is around there too (eek!).

SUKIN
OH MY GOD. Every brand is really hitting is this month, with all these egg-citing products. Really! Sukin is one of them too. Check out what they have to offer:
  • Botanical Body Wash in Lime and Coconut ($11.95)
  • Hydrating Body Lotion in Lime and Coconut ($19.95)
  • Micellar Cleansing Water ($9.95) -- Whaaaat. That price tag too!

Also launched a new range, Super Greens..

  • Detoxifying Clay Masque ($15.95), which draws out dirt and impurities.
  • Detoxifying Facial Scrub ($12.95), a facial exfoliant that deeply cleanses pores.
  • Facial Recovery Serum ($17.95), a serum that contains a lot of things (lol) to deliver a healthy glow to the skin.
  • Nutrient Rich Facial Moisturiser ($12.95)

ULTA3 AW15 Limited Edition Collection
A spankin' new collection by Ulta3 for this year's Autumn/Winter, featuring metallic shades to add glam to your beauty look! Yippeeeeee?!

Matte Glitter Nail Polish ($3/5 shades)
I'm actually curious if this has a matte finish, cause that'd look hot. Says nothing about having a matte finish on their press release!

Metallic Cream Eyeliner ($5.95/4 shades)
Described to be of a "striking foil finish" whilst having a feathery light feel and glides smoothly upon the skin.

SALLY HANSEN Miracle Gel Shades ($16.95/5 NEW shades)
Five new shades to add to their existing (and well loved) Miracle Gel Shades! Here they are:

RIMMEL LONDON Radiance BB Cream ($12.95/3 shades)
A 9-in-1 skin perfecting SUPER makeup (what is super makeup?): primes, smooths, conceals, helps minimise the appearance of pores, natural coverage, moisturises for 24 hours, awakens and brightens!

There are a few more products that I'd like to include, but this post is getting waaay too long, and I don't think they are interesting enough (some of them were launched last month), so I've figured that I'd post them on my Facebook page instead!

If you like them beauty updates (or like me) then do hop over to ma Facebook page!

Meanwhile, help a mate by filling out this poll:

For me, I'll definitely try out Sukin's Micellar Cleansing Water with hopes that it could be the cheapest, yet most efficient micellar cleansing water!

Recent Empties -- Feb 2013

YEY! My first empties post for 2013! I'm glad I'm getting somewhere with my stash. Of course, I still do add products here and then, but lately, I've been trying to use up whatever I can.. whether it be skincare, cosmetics or haircare!

Yes! Four whole packets of facial wipes! Three by Face Of Australia in which I've already repurchased and one by Lacura, a brand that you can only find at Aldi. They're actually okay for $2.50, but they're not that moist for the face so I wouldn't recommend it nor would I repurchase! I'm actually happy that it's not as bad as Australis' wipes for it's price :P

For the other products, I've got to the skincare sample set by Trilogy that's been hanging around forever. Their products were okay and their Rose Hip Oil definitely saved my skin when it acted up, but I still like Sukin's Hydration Booster better so bye bye Trilogy. You served me well though.

As for Australis' See Ya Later Nail Polish Remover.. Let me just say.. It's probably one of the best nail polish removers! I've already repurchased and a collective haul post is coming your way! :P

Nutrimetics Restore Intense Anti-Ageing Night Creme* has also been a great product, but way outta my price range. Meep. It's a lovely night creme though.. rich, creamy and moisturising! I wouldn't deem it as a holy grail product, but definitely something to look to if you've got the bucks for it!

Another night cream and sample I've finished is by Nivea. Their Visage Q10  Night Cream felt quite soothing the first time I've tried it, but it was just average after that so I'm passing up this one too.

Last product is a cosmetic product! You're probably wondering how I've cleaned the BYS Blusher SO well that there's not one bit of powder intact with the pan... Well.. I didn't. What happened was.... I dropped it, smashed it, and dropped it again so it's pretty much scattered allllll over my floor. It's a cheap and pigmented blusher though! I love its luminous finish so if that's your thing then give it a go!

Those are all the products I've finished "recently" *cough* since last year, but I've been too lazy to post about it *cough*

OH. Totally forgot about the Nature's Care Paw Paw Balm.. I only used it twice, but it's going because it's super runny and liquid-y. It sucks. Nuff said.

What products have you finished recently?
Have you tried Lacura, the Aldi brand?

Picnic with Nutrimetics Colour Wardrobe System!

Cosmetics nowadays comes in all sorts of colours from wearable to whack-able, but something to strongly consider is... which of these colours suit you?

The first step to determining which colours suit you is to:
  • Determine your skin's undertone -- warm, cool, neutral, olive.
  • Determine the product's undertone -- warm, cool, neutral.

Looks easy, but hell, if you struggle to determine your own skin's undertone in the first place.. then you stand no chance to be able tell undertones of cosmetic products!

Now.. Nutrimetics has introduced their 'Colour Wardrobe' colour-matching system for their cosmetics -- something that I appreciate very much! Products are now labelled with 'C' for Cool and 'W' for Warm, making it easier for you to find shades that will suit your complexion.

Yeap. I got fancy with these photos, don't blame me though. Blame the yummy and cutesy names they gave to these products!

Nutrimetics Pure Touch Blush in 500W Peach ($25.00) -- is a straight-up peach blush that you can't go wrong with -- a naturally, flushed peachy shade with a light hand and bold and daring with a heavy hand. It's texture is holy golly smooth and silky which blends beautifully on the skin!

It fades a tad by the end of 8 hours of wear, which is fair-fair. I really love the texture and pigmentation, but sadly, there's only 4 shades to play with in this range... meep.

Nutrimetics Hydra Brilliance Lipstick in 104W Persimmon ($25.00) -- is a daring, bright, bold coral-red that... shocked me. It's shocking bright in the tube and to be honest, it's not a shade I'd pick up for myself. I'm at the "lipstick" stage where I'm still trying to feel comfortable with reds, so orange is just out of the question at this moment!

Is it not? Ok. Maybe it doesn't look so bright in the photo, but trust me on this peeps and peepos!

Anyways, I truly LOVE the packaging of this lipstick! It has a magnetic and mirrored lid.... yeap, you read right! The magnet keeps the lid on so no more lids lost in that blackhole of your handbag and you can also use the cap as a mirror on the go! Yay!

The formula is impressively pigmented, smooth and silky, non-drying and lightweight on the lips.... and.. um.. heaps transferable. I touch up after every single snack. I'm talk about Oreos and popcorn :(
I'll have to powder this down, add a lipliner as base and touch up frequently with this one unfortunately.. Meep.

And then there's two Colour Impact Eyeshadows ($20.00)....... Fawn and Chocolate.

Fawn is a matte, light tan colour with yellow tones. You see, I tried to match the names with a nice relative background shot, but I had no idea what to do with a shade of the name "Fawn". Seriously..

Chocolate is what it is -- a matte, dark chocolate brown colour.... Ya, that was so helpful Tram........ Unlike products that I've mentioned so far, this eyeshadow I received is cool-toned with a 'C' label on the back. Must've been a mistake on their end :P

These eyeshadows are moderate in terms of pigmentation with that same smooth and silky texture, just like their blusher! I feel like they swatch to be very pigmented on the hands, but when using a brush, you'll need to layer and layer and layer.... or use a primer.

    Peach, Chocolate, Fawn, Persimmon

Of course, they're still really love eyeshadows to have but their prices leaves me umm-ing and ahh-ing...

    FOTD time!

All in all, I really love the concept of undertone-labelling for these products! I know MAC is known for their range of NC/NW coverage ranges, but I personally think it's important to know the undertones of colour cosmetics too!

Are YOU strict with matching products' undertones to YOUR skin tone?
Have you tried any Nutrimetics products before?

You can find Nutrimetics products from their official website or find a consultant in your area.
