ghd Scarlet Collection (Limited Edition)

If you reside in the UK, you may have already seen the ghd Scarlet Collection out and about in stores since last Christmas before any other countries.

As for us Aussies, we're still on the wait, but don't ya frown yet... the Scarlet Collection will be hitting the Australian shores in a blink of an eye, so keep an eye out for its arrival!

ghd Scarlet, said to be the 'transformation of the Gold Classic styler with opulent red accents in a celebration of 1920s glamour and glitz'.

For this launch, who can rock it off better than Katy Perry? Seriously.

With a '20s make over, Katy Perry transformed into a mystical Snow White for the Scarlet Collection campaign, photographed by David LaChapelle.

The collection will consist of two luxurious gift sets, both available for a limited time.

The Scarlet Collection includes a red-plated Gold Classic styler, a protective plate guard and two sectioning clips, all contained inside a gorgeous heat-resistant red, satin styler roll bag. Too pretty for words!

Even more luxurious, the Scarlet Collection Deluxe consist of all those goodies: a red-plated Gold Classic styler with a protective plate guard and two sectioning clips... BUT also with a ghd travel hair dryer.

Not finished with the list yet!

The Scarlet Collection Deluxe is all contained in a sexy art-deco inspired red vanity case!

If I'd be bringing a hair-styling set like one of the two (above) when travelling, I betcha everyone's gonna be jelly!

Favourite Nail Polishes Photos & Swatches

I've been loving to apply nail polishes lately! I never used to until I realise how ugly nails look without nail polishes!

Today, I thought I'd share with you my most loved colours, most I've included in my 2011 Favourites post and a few that I've recently tried and added to ma fave stash.

Long time favourite 'Limited Edition 2' by Australis (which obviously has been discontinued) is a gorgeous lime green. This shade really is the most unique within lower-end brands here in Aussie. You can skip the formula though, review here.

Then I had an addiction to frosty nail polishes (still do!) after testin' this Collection 2000's polish at the market in Bronze.

You can totally tell why this is a fave polish!! Soooo pretty!

Ulta3's Lolly Pop Lilac is also another pretty pale purple..... with lotsa frost!! It is super cheap and the formula is very decent! One of the best 2 bucks spent in moi life. I love it!

Then after ABBW 2011, I had an opportunity to try ORLY's Sweet Peacock which although applied gloopy and uneven, it is one of the most beautiful frosty polish shade you will ever see! Loses its frost after a day or two though. Despite that, I wore this polish for weeks and couldn't stop starin' at ma nails. I'm not even exaggerating!

All ABBWers knows I'm talking about!

But back to cremes, I was able to score some polishes from B Collection for dirt cheap at the markets. My favourite out of three I've tried is Vancouver. I love this shade for pedicure as it doesn't stand out and is really pretty when you probably don't see anything special... boo-ya! The formula is streaky for the heads up!

Another creme polish which is a fave is Jordana's Chiffon. I'm sure I had this for long now, but never laid an eye on it. Who knows it'd end up being one of my top favourite shades! It's a lovely light grey-toned mocha colour. Applies well, but from what I remember.. it doesn't last very long!

Before all these polishes came to the scene, OPI's You're Such A Kabuki Queen was what I wore all the time during highschool, I must confess that I haven't touched this polish in a long long time and I do apologise! I used to wear crimsons all the time back then but began to opt for reds with pink or coral tones instead. This is a sweet, sweet pinky-red creme polish which is a must have for moi!

To conclude the post, a fifth frosty I've loved is Sinful Colors' Secret Admirer which I must admit... I love because of the sparkles! It's just an almost-black with silver frosts which I already plan to rock out in the upcoming Fall!

Frost, frost, frost, frost. I love frost. The end.

What are your favourite nail polishes?!

Nutrimetics Restore Intense Anti-Ageing Night Crème Review

Nutrimetics, a brand that I've never heard of. Months ago, I was sent this product for consideration along with a sample of their Restore Anti-Aging Firming Eye Cream, so I've been trialling both products out for at least three months now.

Whilst I didn't find any results [so far] with Restore Anti-Aging Eye Cream, I actually like the night cream they provided.

Arrived to me in purple boxed packaging which does give off a classy high-end feel... To be honest, if I'd be payin' 60 bucks for a night cream, bitch better arrive in a box, even if it's gonna sit in the bin. LOL jk. I actually keep all box packagings. #whatbbloggersdo

The product itself is contained in a durable purple jar which although looks pretty, isn't the most sanitary and travel-friendly.

I think jarred [face] moisturisers are absolutely disgusting. I hate dipping my fingers into jarred moisturisers but thank goodness it came with this little lid which I conveniently use as a scoop.

It's a rich and creamy moisturiser which is easy to blend and the after application, leaves my skin feeling primed for night-time, although it takes a while to sink in.

I'd apply this cream after cleansing and wake up with the cream completely absorbed into the skin which feels more than lovely!

Frankly, I didn't notice any boost in my uneven skin tone and pigmentations as it claims to 'improve the look of the skin in two weeks'. However, I do notice that my skin is much more hydrated, smoother and my dry t-zone (main concern) is less flake-prone nowadays.

As for '100% women reported less wrinkles in 28 days', I don't have wrinkles besides a fine line under me eyes, so I really can't tell you how it performs!

Overall:

A 'dermatologist-tested', rich and creamy moisturiser which is best for normal~dry and/or aging skin (although it claims to suit all skin types). Oilier skin types might find it a tad heavy on the skin. Takes a while to sink in, but is very easy to blend. The jar packaging although is pretty, it's not the most hygienic and could be a tad bulky and heavy for travelling. Didn't notice any 'improvements in the skin tone', but my skin does feel much more hydrated and smoother [in texture]. A bit on the pricey side and pricier [and a pain in the ass] to purchase as it's only available online (means you gotta pay for shipping!).

Nutrimetics Restore Intense Anti-Ageing Night Creme retails for $60.00 (60mL/2.03 Fl Oz) at their website with occasional sales or from their consultants.

B Collection Nail Polish in Corfu Photos, Review & Swatch

Happy Valentines Day everyone!

I was suppose to come up with a Valentines-inspired manicure, but I've been liking this blue on my nails. Very cheery and springy!

Let me present to you, B Collection's Corfu.

Corfu is just your typical baby blue which actually reminds me alot of Maybelline's Colorama in Party Blue.

It actually looks much lighter in real life... The lighting was messin' with me!

This shade applied a tad streaky and needs at least three average coats to be opaque. The formula was honestly a bit disappointing in my opinion.

What are you wearing on your nails this Valentines?

B Collection Nail Polishes retails for $14.95/11mL, available only at Target in Australia.

GlossyBox AU: Valentines Edition!

In my last post, I've spoke to you a bit about the latest beauty product. Today, I'll be reviewing this month's Glossy Box (Valentine's Edition) which actually arrived at my doorstep yesterday in the early morning!

Of course, not having time in the morning, I didn't get to open the box, so I was considering to skip school.. Hahahahaha.. I didn't though! I decided to go home early instead... LOL. Ok. Just kidding.

I seriously never knew how pretty the pink box inside is!! I love these smooth cardboard boxes. I'm considering to subscribe for the cardboard boxes! I kid. They are so pretty though!

The decors in the box was okay. I was expecting it to be more fancy schmancy since it's a special edition box for Valentines.

Opening up to a huge $15 OFF voucher got me excited, until I read 'for purchases over $75'.. Boo!

As for the products, it was pretty exciting as I've already seen what my friend received for her Glossy Box and realised that both boxes are totally filled with different goodies. In fact, Tezza's box is also filled with different goodies? Strange..

I'm a little bit confused about this month's GlossyBox. Purely because everyone got different items in their box, so I'm not too sure how that was decided. Anyhows, this month's box contains:

  • A $15 off voucher for ActiveSkin (for purchases over $75)

  • A discount voucher for Proactiv's Ultimate System

  • Carmex Moisture Plus Hydrating Lip Balm (full size)

  • Palmer's Skin Therapy Oil (full size)

  • Proactiv Deep Cleansing Wash 60mL

  • Face Of Australia Mineral Lip Shine in Beach House (full size)

  • Star&Rose Emergency Nail Files

However, for my box, I'm happy with 3 full size items! Especially when they are brands I'm familiar with. As for the two vouchers, I wish I was interested, but too bad they didn't scratch my itch. I personally think this month's box (or my one) was well done though!

These beauty boxes are great if you're looking to try new products from new and undiscovered brands. You might even get lucky and receive some high-end stuff depending on the company's partners! Glossy Box is partnered with brands that everyone are familiar to, so I would really consider them if I had spare moola!

GlossyBox subscriptions are available at GlossyBox AU Official Website for $14.95 per month.

Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream Photos, Swatches & Review

BB Creams (Blemish Balms) are so in right now, so I expect everyone to know what they are! But, for noobies, in a nutshell, a BB cream is (or claim to be) your coverage product with beneficial skin-caring properties such as brightening, hydrating, anti-aging and has higher SPF (usually around 50+).

My first ever BB cream was Missha's PerfectCover BB Cream which didn't really work for my skin type at the time, but since the craze, I've been wanting to give BB creams a try again!

So that explains how I was super excited when Garnier has launched and introduced their 5-in-1 BB Cream.

Comes in a neat plastic squeeze tube packaging which is both sanitary and travel-friendly. A downfall to the packaging is that, there's no shade labels! Why Garnier, why?

As for the product, this 'BB cream' is not right in many beauty bloggers' books as many believe that it's very different to the traditional BB cream, in which I do agree.

I think this product is much more similar to a tinted moisturiser rather than a BB cream.

The product itself has a thicker consistency (which is perfect for me) and provides a [very] sheer coverage with a very dewy finish. I feel like the coverage is way too sheer to actually even out my skin tone, so that's one claim down. It's also not very transfer-resistant and doesn't last for very long.

I find that my skin also feels quite oily and greasy after wearing this on a 9-5 day and mind you, I don't have any problems with feeling oily when wearing other coverage products.

The BB Cream is available in two shades: Light and Medium. For reference, I'm an NC25~30 and I'd match the shades of these two mixed. Medium is too dark and browny for me and Light is a tad lighter than my natural skin tone. On lazy days, I prefer 'Light' though since it's not noticeably lighter than my skin and actually makes my skin look a tad brighter.

This 'BB cream' is much more similar to a tinted moisturiser than a traditional BB cream. It blends well, but provides very sheer coverage.. so sheer that it will do nothing for your skin-tone. Drier skin will probably bring this product to favour as it will look unforgivably dewy on oilier skin types. Available in two shades with five claims which are meh.

Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB cream retails for $13.95 at Priceline.

Clean&Clear Morning Burst Breakfast Launch

On Tuesday, I attended a morning event by Clean&Clear for their Morning Burst range with Alice! Waking up in the morning is usually tiring and demotivating for me, but I was so excited that morning that it was just *click* and immediately awake!

I was looking forward to the event as it's my second event as a blogger ever!

And believe me when I say this, my mood was lifted when I stepped into the venue! Everything was just SO into theme. It was so bright and colourful!

A basket of flowers and products were laid out on the table.. gosh! I was honestly in love with the layout and decorations of the place and event.

Introducing two new ranges: Morning Burst Skin Brightening and Morning Burst Shine Control. Each range will consist of a facial cleanser and a exfoliating scrub.

Morning Burst Skin Brightening

Morning Burst Shine Control

Arriving at the venue, Alice and I finally got to meet the sweet Ali and the Clean&Clear team. After finding our way around, we met Jeanice and Katherine. It was my first time meeting them both and they are super adorable and pretty!

Alice, Katherine & Jeanice

Snappin' up some photos!

A few moments later, the Clean&Clear team began their introduction of the upcoming ranges which was very informative and interesting!

All Morning Burst products are designed to suit younger women who struggles to find motivation in the early morning and/or suffering from skin conditions due to lack of sleep. The team explained that the fruity citrus scent in the products will 'invigorate your senses' which will help your skin and senses get ready for the day, hence the name.

The Morning Burst Shine Control and Skin Brightening ranges will be available at Priceline and selected pharmacies soon in March.
