Think Pink! -- Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub

I know we've moved into Spring from Winter now, but lips exfoliation should never be underlooked!

Flaky lips are never nice, so lip scrubs should be a lip care staple for all. This is the one and only lip scrub that I have and I urgeeeeeeee everyone to consider this little jar of sweet... I mean, lip scrub.



I've never been keen on this lip scrub by Lush.... The idea of licking off the sugar after you're finished with scrubbing the lips just seems... gross to me.

So for the first few times when I've used this, I actually washed it off. That worked okay too, but a few more times of using this... The scent... was just truly too hard to resist. It smells absolutely amazingggggggggg so I thought I'd just give the licking method a try... Then after that, I just never bothered to go back to washing it off.

Licking the sugar off was just simply the easier way out... and also the tastier way :P

For those of you who also feel the same as I once did about this product, I'd suggest you still give it a go! The scent will slowly lure you in, so you should get over it eventually @_@.... I think!

For the price, you get a quite a fair bit of yummy bubblegum-flavoured sugar which should last you a fairrrrr while, or maybe enough times until it expires if you only remember to exfoliate once a week... like me =_=!
Yes, as with most Lush products, being made of natural ingredients, these lip scrubs also have an expiry date which can be found on the bottom of the glass jar packaging.

I think the only problem that I have with this is the scent and flavour it has. It's just so yummy and amazing that makes me go coo-coo sometimes. You know.. sneakily scoop out a too much to use and make it look like an accident. Yeap, that's sneaky Tram for ya!

I think only those who own these lip scrubs would know what I'm talking about... Hahaha.

I also have the same lip scrub in 'Mint Julips' and I loveeeeeeeeee everything minty, so I can't wait to try it! Hopefully I'll get through both jars before they go off though... Boo!

Think Pink! -- Rimmel London Apocalips Lip Lacquer in 102 Nova

Oiiiiiiiii! I know I'm late with this product, but better late than never? @_@

Like the previous product, this Apocalips Lip Lacquer was also kindly provided for review by my sister :P
When these launched, I made sure to show this range to my sister.... and I guess that it worked out well since she decided to purchase Nova! Hehehe!


The Apocalips range are packaged in a black packaging with a gradient to the shade! They are liquid lipsticks which are described to be "intensely rich with a satin finish".

Comes with a doe-foot applicator for an easy application. I personally don't mind it, but it's definitely will not give you that clean-edged look. For me, I just apply it straight from the applicator. I don't usually go for that clean-edge looks, unless they are bright and bold, and have the tendency to smear and bleed.

Nova doesn't smear for me though. It just sits on the lips nicely without feeling overly slippery like some other lip products I own. It's also non-sticky!! Just feels velvety on the lips! Just right!

The formula sits to be extremely lightweight on the lips, and feels ridiculously smooth when applied [and swatched]! It also somewhat stains too, but the most of the product just sits on the lips like a gloss. I don't feel like it lasts THAT long though. At max, only 2.5 hours on my lips and not to mention that it can be somewhat transferable.

Overall, it is a nice lip product to have in the stash. The formula and shade is nice, although I did wish that it'd last a little longer. I'm curious as to how the brighter colours like Stellar performs though! YES! That ridiculously bright red-coral! You know what I'm talking about?!

Besides this, I've tried Australis Pout Pastes which were intense lip products, but a tad too inconvenient to wear with its high-maintenance formula.

Drugstore Cosmetics Launches for Australia -- October 2013

We're in the 10th month of the year guys! Only a little less than two months and it'll be Christmas! Honestly, I'm not sure if I should be feeling happy or sad... The year is flowing by too quick and I feel like I've not yet accomplished anything. Boo!

Australis has launched a few products recently. I haven't seen these in person yet, but they should already be in store if you are interested! 

• CC Cream ($12.95/3 shades) -- Like what CC creams are suppose to do.. This CC Cream is suppose to act as a multi-tasking face make-up product that evens out the skin tone and provide flawless coverage with a soft matte finish. Locks in moisture and has a colour correcting ability which brightens and neutralises redness and pigmentations.
• Tint My Brow ($9.95/3 shades) -- Lightweight brow tint which enables you to tint, define and control with an easy-to-use brush applicator. Claims to remain flawless through all conditions!
• Eyeshadow Cream Duo ($9.95/3 shades) -- An intensely coloured eyeshadow cream duo which keeps you covered for both day and night looks! Glides on creamy and dries to an "ultra intense colour with a light metallic spark".

Face Of Australia Budgeproof Gel Eyeshadows ($8.95/8 shades)

These were launched some time ago. I wasn't aware of their existence until I dropped down to my local Big W @_@ Described to be velvety smooth eyeshadows, these are long-lasting with an intensely rich formula. Can be applied for a subrtle colour or layered for a more intense effect. Lasts all day without fading and budging. 

Face Of Australia Carnivale! Limited Edition Nail Collection ($5.95/8 shades)

New Face Of Australia nail collection! Yeeyeyeyeyeyey! Inspired by a circus carnivale theme, the collection features four matte shades and four glittering shades. YES! Glitter shades!

Okay, then there's Bourjois who's also launching a spankin' new range of face products for ya!

• Happy Light Foundation ($29/4 shades) -- A liquid foundation that enhances your radiance while concealing imperfections. Lasts for 16 hours with a supple texture. Offers an undectectable finish and contains an active moisturiser to let the skin breathe.

L'Oreal Paris Colour Riche Le Vernis Summer Collection ($6.95/6 shades)

Another nail collection! L'Oreal releases their summer collection for their Color Riche range! All shades are limited edition and like their regular Color Riche range, contains an in-built top coat. Two in one baby! ^~^

essence rocks back again with their newest collection, me & my ice cream. Oh, the names that they come up with..

• Baked Eyeshadow ($4.95/3 shades) -- Creamy texture with a 'cool' marble effect to conjure up summery eye make-up styles. Light shimmery finish.
• Cream Blush ($4.95/1 shade) -- The intensive apricot shade offers a naturally fresh complexion. Yeap. The end... >_<"
• Shimmer Pearls ($5.75/1 shade) -- Shimmering pearls with a light colour dispersion that feature pastel shades of the me & my ice cream collection. Offers a subtle glow for the face and... um, neckline? Also is suppose to cover up fine imperfections.

• Lip Balms ($3.50/3 shades) -- Blended coloured lip balm which contains shea butter and jojoba oil.
• Nail Polishes ($2.95/4 shades) -- A selection of pastel shades.
• Nail Topping Stickers ($3.50/1 style) -- Self-adhesive nail stickers that offers a 3D effect for the nails.

Sally Hansen Sugar Coat Nail Lacquers ($9.95/7 shades)
After their Fuzzy Coats, they've now released a new range! I don't think you can find them anywhere else yet besides Chemist Warehouse. They are also having a sweet sale on these. If you haven't heard, these are another multi-dimensional nail lacquer range that leaves a sugar-dipped effect. It's suppose to apply like a creme and transforms into a sugarcoted, semi-matte finish for a vibrant manicure. Perfect for summer, methinks!




Designer Brand Ultimate Brow Palette
($12.99/1 shade)
First time featuring Designer Brands! They've released a brow shaping and colouring kit that features essential tools for shaping, arching and grooming eyebrows. The kit includes three brow stencils and custom light & dark powers to blend and match. Also contains a soft cream highlighter and a multi-purpose dual ended applicator.

Ulta3 Colour Game Nail Polish Collection ($2/5 shades)
Another nail collection for Summer. This one's called 'Colour Game' and features five bright nail lacquers. So many nail polish collections for this summer!

Revlon Nearly Naked Mineral Powder Foundation (~$29.95)

No idea how many shades this product has.. I can't even find its press image to include.. Haha. I also can't find any information on this product, but if you're keen, Amy has already posted about her first impressions on this product here.

Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation Range

• Liquid Mousse Foundation ($14.95/8 shades): A matte foundation with a lightweight mousse texture. Glides on the skin and blends seamlessly and evenly. Offers flawless, silken, shine-free finish that lasts all day.

Last, but not least! Covergirl launches their newest range of Jumbo Gloss Balms! Now available instore, these are twist-up pen lip balms that "delivers colour and shine in one application". Long-lasting formula and leaves the lips soft and nourished. 

They photo they provided has like a billion shades though... @_@

So that's all for this months launches! SO many products! The esssence collection is ridiculously cute in terms of packaging. Every other products are pretty bright and colourful!

Think Pink! -- Revlon 260 Girly Nail Lacquer

Let's kick off the Think Pink! series with one of the latest arrival to Revlon's nail lacquer range -- 260 Girly!

Since I've seen a Whimsical swatched on Sleep and Water, I've been meaning to check it out instore. I've always thought that they were only available online, but my previous trip to Priceline proved me wrong :P

I saw both Whimsical and Girly, along with some other similar cream and glitter-based lacquers. Too bad for me, the prices were way out of my budget so I've decided to hold back on these until there was a good sale. 

I made sure to show them to my sister though.... and next thing you know, a few days after, she carries these home in her hand and yells, "I'VE GOT NEW NAIL POLISHES! WOO!”. Enabling her was certainly not a part of my plan, but it's a good thing for me... hoho.

Girly contains medium-sized blue, fuchsia and light-gold hex glitters along with tiny burnt-orange and purple hexes in a sheer, warm-toned light pink base. I know the colour combination doesn't sound too great, but it somehow works together fine. I don't mind it on my nails!

The pink base isn't extremely sheer, so 3 coats was enough to build up the opacity. The polish contains ALOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT of glitter pieces, which may make you happy if you're after a lacquer that's packed of glitters. Adding to that, they are holy golly reflective too! @_@

Sadly, its not my cuppa tea, this one! Although the formula applies flawlessly, I prefer something with less glitters for easier jelly sandwich manicures. I still can definitely use this for jelly sandwiches in combine with a sheer pink lacquer, but the extra effort.... I'll pass for now!

October Think Pink! Series

Hi everybuddy!

It's been a LONG while since I've worked on any [blogging] series since the 'Colour Me In' collaboration with Amanda, Tezza and Alice.... which was from last year! Can ya believe? It's been a yearrrrr!

This time around, we're all pretty busy, so I've decided to go solo with this new blogging series called, October Think Pink, hoping to raise funds for Pink Ribbon Day!

For this, I'll need YOUR help! It's easy though!

For the month of October, I will be posting about pink beauty products every second day, and for EACH comment, I will be donating $0.20 (AUD). This obviously will not include spam comments! @_@

Ultimately, this means that YOU can also help out and help to fundraise by leaving a comment on each post. My maximum amount will be set at $100 (AUD), mainly because I still need to fund myself for food, university, bills and others, but of course, I'll be donating a separate share of my own too! ^~^

Illamasqua The Scared Hour Collection Nail Lacquer in Facet

Helloooooooooooo.

Let's talk more about new products today! Just a bit over a week ago, I was invited to Illamasqua's launch for their newest collection, The Scared Hour. 

The collection was launched on 1st September, so you should be able to find them at your local Illamasqua stockist(s) by now. The collection features quite a few products, but straying away from the usual bright and bolds, The Sacred Hour features neutrals along with the darks and the vampies.

As per usual, their promo photos never fails to disappoint me! Here are some of my favourites that I've gathered online...

For your reading (or enabling) convenience, a brief rundown on the products and prices:

• Reflection Palette ($53): Has a water-resistant formula, silky textures, shimmery finishes, is long-wearing and applies with an effortless application. I've felt these and they share the same bouncy texture (when touched) with their previous palette from the Paranormal collection.
• Velvet Blushers ($28/2 shades): These are actually cream-to-powder blushers! They feel like a cream in pan, but applies with a matte finish. 
• Lipsticks ($39/1 shade): Long-wearing with a creamy matte finish.
• Nail Varnishes ($34/2 shades): Inspired by opalescent crystals and flint, these varnishes are suppose to create a "mystical finish" whilst being long-wearing and chip resistant.
• Lush Lash ($22): Enchanting, feather-like lashes to complete and complement and add drama to any look. 
• Skin Base Lift ($24): A brightening concealer which is suppose to lift, illuminate and provide a flawless coverage for the skin. Blends easily, and is infused with warm peach tones to flatter every skin tone. Also available in a white shade for those who are interested, called "White Light"!

Illamasqua kindly sent me home with one of the two new nail lacquers, Facet, and their Skin Base Lift [brightening concealer], which is raved by their staffs to be perfectly suited for achieving the Kim K look! 

My skin is disastrous at the moment so the concealer will have to wait! However, there are never bad days for nail polishessssss. Hoho! 

I forgot to mention that this collection is based on a mystical theme and I'd have to say that the colour and shimmers of this lacquer fits the collection PERFECTLY. The purpley-grey based colour combined with fine gold shimmers reminds me a lot of the foggy wild woods where all the mystiques are found.

I'm serious.

It's actually not sheer like I've expected, so 3 coats was enough for a decent coverage. Also pretty glossy throughout the week that I wore it, with minimum tip wear! ^~^

But on the end note, $36 a pop... Quite a good formula, so you if you're keen on this particular shade and can afford it.. I don't see why not!

YES! You read right! No longer will you need to be making a trip to ze fancy Myers for Essie's nail lacquers. Priceline will be stocking them soon, so keep an eye out for that!

Max Factor CC Cream ($19.95/6 shades)

Yissss! CC Creams! If you haven't heard of them yet, they're basically the next generation of BB Creams, called Colour Correcting Creams. Max Factor claims that their CC Cream "provides intense complexion correction immediately on application, to provide healthy and natural-looking skin".

Almay CC Cream (Available in 3 shades)

Almay also released their very own CC Cream which has that "smart shade" technology again. It's described as a "Complexion Corrector", a lightweight foundation in combined with "clarity enhancing skincare". Almay claims that its formula is suppose to blend easily and flawlessly into the skin whilst concealing discolourations and imperfections. Also brightens and has SPF 25. 

L'Oreal SuperLiner Perfect Slim Eyeliner ($24.45/1 shade)

Goddd, It's been yonks since I've featured any eyeliners in my launch posts! This one is a precision felt-tip liner with a super fine 0.4mm tip, enabling you to create even the thinnest strokes! It also has a grip-zone to hold which allows optimum control for anybody. Sounds pretty perfect for anyone who's new to eyeliners~

L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes Excess Mascara ($27.95/1 shade)

As the name suggests, this is an anti-clump mascara. In short, it offers to separate the lashes whilst providing dramatic volume. The brush is described to be "L'Oreal's biggest ever brush", but I've never used their mascaras, so I'm not too sure how big! 

Keep that in mind though if you are a keen bean on this mascara!

L'Oreal Anti-Dullness and Anti-Fatigue CC Cream ($26.95/2 types)

Both CC Creams are described to offer weightless coverage, leaving the skin with a "healthy-looking, radiant nude complexion and 24 hour hydration" with SPF 12. Both ARE shade-transforming products, just like their Anti-Red CC Cream. 

• Anti-Dullness: Helps to revive dull-looking skin, has a milky-mauve colour.
• Anti-Fatigue: Helps to revive tired skin *immediately*, has a milky-apricot colour.

Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Crayons ($15/4 shades)
These may have been launched last month, but I don't see them featured around too much (or maybe I just haven't been actively reading blogs) so I thought I'd give them a mention here!

Described to be "lightweight" and "non-sticky", these lip crayons claims to leave the lips bright and smooth, with just enough shine and transparency to "enhance" each shade.

Bourjois Record Liner Waterproof ($19/3 shades)

Ahhh! Another eyeliner! According to Bourjois, their Record Liner Waterproof is:

• A stretchable gel-cream which will glide on easily
• Long wearing for up to 48 hours!
• Intense and rich in terms of pigementation
• Smudge-proof

There's also a flat angled brush which clicks onto the top of lid. I'm sure you've already seen this similar packaging across other brands, such as Face Of Australia ^~^

Natio Pearl & Pop Nail Colours ($5.95/12 shades)

Pearl & Pop is a limited edition collection of miniature nail polishes by Natio! The shades featured within this collection are fresh and bright which is ideal of Spring and Summer.

They sure do look cute, but with such small bottles for pastel colours... I'm hoping that the formula will kick butt!

Oh! And here are the two other Natio products that launched last month, but I didn't mention. I'll briefly round them up here...

• Mineral Pressed Powder Bronzer and Enhancer ($17.95/2 shades) -- A lightweight powder which is suppose to add a bronze glow and luminousity to the skin in one sweep.
• Heavenly Eyes Mineral Eyeshadow Trio ($14.95/4 sets) -- These are available in four different colour combinations. The eyeshadows are described to be rich and pigmented, long-lasting and each trio comes with a duo-ended applicator.

I also wasn't aware of these two new products from last month by NP Set either, so here they are....

• California Cool Bronzing Powder ($24/1 shade) -- Is a fine, matte face bronzer which combines pink and brown tones. 
• California Cool Gloss-and-Go Duo ($15/2 shades) -- Is a lip stain and gloss combo. It delivers long-lasting colour with a hydrating coat of clear gloss.
