Holy cow, it's been cold here in Sydney, Australia!
It's just approaching the beginning of Winter and it's already this cold!
You know what that means?
Disastrous weather and season for drier skin types!
Seriously, my cheeks have been disastrously dry ever since the weather has got colder and colder. Eventually, that means not only my skincare routine needs to be considered, but also my make-up routine!
So as I sat down to get ready for TAFE one day, I looked at my Australis Make-Up Spritz and thought.. What if I....
Dot ma favourite Face Of Australia Lasting Looks Natural Foundation on...
Spray the make-up finishing spray on me Sigma F80 Buffer Brush..
..and then quickly buff in the foundation?
So that's what I did and I couldn't be ANY happier with the results!!
Face Of Australia Lasting Looks Natural Foundation is a lovely foundation and in its nature, it already has a dewy finish. Perfect for most skin types, but I find that it dries a tad too fast and can sometimes put emphasis on my drier patches.
This method certainly gave the foundation's blend-ability a boost, helped it to glide on better, gave me more time to work with it before it settled and left the foundation lookin' a tad more dewier than usual and oh-soo natural!
(Here's me me me me... with perfect lighting!)
Yeap. I'm obsessed with the natural dewy and glowy complexion. If you are too, then definitely try out this method if you have a make-up spritz layin' around in your make-up stash!
Tell me what you think! Will you be trying this method, or nay?
Wanted to quickly share with you thoughts of this lipstick that I've been trialling, NYX's Tea Rose from their humongous collection of Round lipsticks!
I believe Tea Rose is a shade loved and owned by most, probably the reason why the same shade is also available in their Mega Shine Lip Glosses, Cream Blushes and Matte Lipsticks ranges.
Not sure how or if the shades differ, but to the point.. NYX's Round Lipstick in Tea Rose is a very pretty, cool-toned medium pink of a satin finish!
Comes in a plain black packaging with the shade name's sticker on top and a shade viewer on the bottom which is pretty true to shade. Very convenient for the storage of lippie hoarders, *hands up* mee.. kinda!
I find Tea Rose to stand out on my light-medium skin tone quite a bit, so I would usually dab it on for a sheerer coverage. I find that dabbing it on or applying it with a lip brush gives much of a better feel also, for the formula has much of a slippery and glide-y feel on the lips. It's pretty annoying, I must admit, as it does feel like the lip colour will smear, instead of 'setting in' or sit nicely on the lips. Adding to it, the lipstick doesn't taste very nice, so having it so glide-y honestly won't help..
The wear time for Tea Rose is pretty impressive. After about half an hour of wear, it starts to feel less slippery, more settled and less glossy. It can last for long hours, but definitely needs touch ups after lunch/meals.
I did have higher hopes for NYX Round lipsticks as reads from blogs described them to be very moisturising and creamy with an intense colour pay-off. Of course, I'm more-than-impressed with the pigmentation. Tea Rose is VERY pigmented which is a big tick on my list, but.. I don't feel like it's moisturising in any way and certainly is not creamy.
So at this stage, I only wish it's less velvety and more grippy, but not so grippy that it's dryin', ya know what I mean, jellybean?
Never thought I'd say that to a lipstick. Lol. Seriously.. glides on lovely. But too lovely can be a problem too.
P.S. Remember to store them in a cool environment, they do melt in warmer weathers!
Extremely pigmented, but too slippery on the lips! If you don't mind the velvety texture, these lipsticks will do you well as they last for fairly long and are cheaper than chips! Not available in Australia though, but CherryCulture carries them with regular sales!
Have you tried the well-known NYX Round Lipsticks?
Let me know about your experience!
NYX Round Lipsticks retails for $4.00 online at CherryCulture.com and is available in 144 shades.
It's not even the end of the month yet, why is this post labelled as 'May Empties?'. Well, I actually held onto these empties for a while now, maybe a few months and I seriously cannot hold onto them for any longer, so I figure I need to post urgently!
These empties are from the last fewer months. Pretty weird having a bunch of used products lined up on your table if you ask me!
Johnson's Daily Essentials Facial Cleansing Wipes, one of those items that I said "I'll review them tomorrow..." and I ended up using them all instead! But, overall, good wipes -- effective, quick cleanse, moist and didn't give that slight sting after use! Will repurchase to do a separate review and these are not bad!
Yes To Blueberries Brightening Facial Towelettes comes in one of the prettiest make-up remover wipes packaging. With a click on lid instead of the usual sticker, it saves much more moist and is much more travel friendly. I like the material of this better. Lately, it hasn't been stinging, but it used to when I first started using em!
Omgaah! I finished this Dove Foaming Make-Up Remover YONKS ago! Probably from beginning of the year! It's a good make-up remover for the face, but I feel like it's not safe for the eyes. I know some beauties do use this in a way of a foaming cleanser make-up remover, but I prefer to put out the foam onto a cotton pad and go ahead with the usual! It's effective, cheap, fun to use and lasted me yonks. Will repurchase (also one of those products that I said I'll get to review, but never did).
What's this unbranded mascara, you asked? It's the NYX Volume Doll Eye Mascara I've purchased ages ago. Finally decide to dispose this. Been way too long and it's dried up. Loved this mascara once upon a time. Looked natural, held ma curls and did great for length although it's a 'volume' mascara... lol. Would love to try out the length version!
Holy cow, this is one of the most grainiest exfoliater I've used! St Ives Apricot Scrub generally receives so much positive feedbacks from users. I find this to be abrasive on skin, but I liked it. Probably best for Summers though since it won't help with hydration for my dry skin in the Winter time.
Ok, if you follow me on Twitter or Instagram (the_Beautifool), you would've known that I've tried to dye my hair the very first time at home, and I used John Frieda's Precision Foam Colour in Light Ash Brown. The selection of a light shade didn't turn out on my dark hair colour so boo for that.. But I did like the easy and messy-free process. Will probably give this another try in the future, but with a much lighter colour!
Ah, forever one of my favourite lip balms! Blistex Lip Conditioner is a bit pricier but works much better and faster than others (and has SPF20). Also has SPF20! I find this Blistex jar conditioner works much better than their other balm forms. Already have repurchased!
So, what has everyone been up to? Hope everyone's been having a great time and everything has been well!
For me, I've been SO busy with TAFE assessments whilst having this performance from the Voice Australia on repeat!
I LOVE both Kelsie's and Brittany's voice! You?

I know, I know.. too many B Collection's nail polishes posts!
I'm hoping to feature more brands I own, but I truly do love the cute little bottle packaging of B Collection nail polishes! Don't you?
At first glance, Memphis looked like any regular dark toned purple, but at a closer look, you can see a chocolate-brown sheen infused with slight shimmers (which unfortunately can only be seen under sunlight).
It's gorgeous though, and is perfect for these upcoming Winter in Australia here!
Love this shade!! So extremely pretty! It looks much pretty when worn than in bottle, so I think most will skip this shade when they pass it at the stores and most likely, partly due to the price tag too. At $14.95, it is more than pricey for a low-end brand.
Memphis' first coat was surprisingly sheer, but the second coat evens out just about everything. I can still see very few uneven patches which are very little noticeable and can be fixed with a third coat.
Whilst the consistency was just perfect -- non gloopy, thin or streaky, I did struggle with uneven patches (quite unnoticeable) around my cuticles where the brush tip first meets. I'm not exactly sure if it's just my personal experience or the brush is to blame.
Memphis lasted well on my nails for five days with the usual tip wear, fortunately, no chips! Yipeee!
Overall, nice shade and consistency, but as always, too pricey for me! I'm glad I've purchased this only for $2.50 at the weekend markets!
So far, I've reviewed and swatched Corfu, London and Memphis! Off my list they go!
Hope I won't bore you with these B Collection posts, because there will be plenty more of B Collection swatches coming your way!
You ready? ;)

So I must admit that when Australis launched their Paparazzi
Perfect HD range, I did find it somewhat odd that they've came out with a HD
tinted moisturizer. Honest. Why opt for tinted moisturisers if you know the
event will be important enough for HD products? Ya know what I mean, jellybean?
Perhaps it's
designed for one of those days when you don't want too much make-up but still be photogenic in unexpected photos. Maybe in the background of some tourists' photos? lol. Cray cray idea!
Contained in
a nifty, flat squeeze tube packaging, Australis Paparazzi Perfect HD
Tinted Moisturiser is an oil-free and light-weight tinted moisturiser with
SPF15. The packaging is quite travel-friendly and handy for on-the-go's!
First of all, although marketed as a HD product, I personally only see little difference in flash photography, nothing too
extraordinary when compared to bare skin. My skin tone just looks more even
with little coverage and less shiny. Admittedly, my camera may be at fault [for the extremely even skin tone] since it usually auto-fixes
the skin, but here’s a photo without powder to show you!
The consistency is somewhat thin and less creamy, so it's just not moisturising enough for my drier t-zone. My cheat-sheet is to layer a cream-based moisturiser under this product to prevent it from clinging onto the dry patches on my cheeks. Not to mention that it also help the tinted moisturiser to glide on much more easier with a velvet-y and non-grippy feel. However, on oily areas, I swear I could do fine with this alone as a moisturiser.
The coverage it provides is more than just sheer -- something I love in comparison to other tinted moisturisers. It does a
great job at evening out my acne scars, making them appear less visible and
less pink, however, it doesn't really even out the redness around my nose, but a touch up of concealer will do the trick.
It has decent wear time, nothing I'd be all hyped about. With powder, I can get approximately 5-6 hours of
wear before fading. The formula isn't the most transfer-resistant so
it usually does end up on my sleeves or around the shirt's or jumper's neckline, so I'd always try to be very careful when changing or leaning my face on surfaces.
However, one thing
which is quite unforgivable is.... the limited shade selection! These tinted
moisturisers are available in two shades: Light/Medium and Medium/Dark.That's perfectly fine, but thing is.. as far as I could remember, both shades have stronger cool tones than warm tones to them which calls for disadvantages for the warmer complexions.
Nevertheless, I
still do love the coverage it provides and how easy it is to apply! I just wish that there were more
shades available! Not asking for too much at all right?
Definitely a must-try if you can find a match from the two shades
available. The formula is great to work with unless you have dry skin since it
does have the potential to put emphasis on the drier patches.. so must moisturise
before use! Oily skin types should have no problemos!
Have you tried any products from Australis' Paparazzi Perfect High Definition range?

I sincerely apologise for not posting for the past two weeks! I've been extremely busy with my course's work since assessments are all due at this time of the year. I wonder who made that decision to torture us students' social life, seriously.
But no matter how busy I am, I've still been shopping at my favourite weekend markets religiously!
Here are the products I've purchased two or three weekends ago!
Chi Chi's *blusher*. This is a confusing product. I'm not sure why it's labelled as a blusher, when it does look and feel like an eyeshadow! The finish is quite frosty, I think and the texture is SO amazingly smooth with a great colour pay-off. I couldn't find any information about this online, but it would make a pretty eyeshadow!
Inglot Duraline which is turns any powder eyeshadow into a liquid formulation. Frankly, I know that you can just use water to turn any powder into a liquid and for whatever purposes. But often, it will not maintain that pigmentation and turn out sheer instead, so I thought this might be interesting! Don't you?
Those two items were merely any pricey. Like the usual, Mum buys a whole bunch of stuff, so the kind lady would charge 50 cents each or sometimes if she's happy... for free!
Of course, Sunday markets are ALWAYS the best!
There was an open stall which sold authentic branded, but used goods.. most were still in good condition! I'm not a handbag person, so I wasn't interested... but hello to Lancome's Le Rouge Absolu in Gemme Rose ! It was $10 and $5 for the Rimmel London Colour Show Off Lipstick in Pink Gossip!
Both were brand new and of course, I've scratched it on the way home by taking it out to have a look at the pretty colour!
That was it!
But on another [exciting] note... I've dyed my hair!
Ok.. Everyone can dye their hair, of course I know that!
But if you follow me on Twitter, you would've know that I was super excited at the hairdressers yesterday! It's my first time dying my hair! Well.. technically the second after trying and failing a home-job...
So here's my new hair! Yippee! Super happy with it!
*Don't mind me looking pale. Testing out a new lipstick! FOA's Lip Quench in Lychee Crush.
Just in case you were wondering.. I don't know what colour it is.. LOL! I told my hairdresser that I wanted a medium ash brown, but it was only possible if bleached. So I decided that I wanted to lighten my hair colour instead! So that's the result after a Light Ash Brown dye [with no bleach], I'm pretty sure!
Need to get back to work! Hope to share more posts with you soon!
