Max Factor Facefinity All Day Flawless 3-in-1 Foundation Review

So Max Factor has just recently released their newest Facefinity All Day Flawless 3 in 1 Foundation last month. Or the month before. I've pretty much been trialling this foundation since its release really. Ya, I know. I take a loooooong time to review foundations, but we're here now!

Max Factor's Facefinity Foundation dresses in your classy glass bottle with a pump (YES!) and plastic cap. Feels very sturdy, but oh man! I already have visions of me dropping this bottle in my head. But then again, if it was packaged in a plastic bottle then I'd probably be the first to complain that it looks tacky and cheap. <--- dillemma. Le sigh. 

Hitting up the claims, Facefinity is described as a "3-in-1" for its ability to: 

• Prime
• Correct
• Protect (by SPF20)

Personally, I didn't notice any priming and correcting when using this foundation. The product itself isn't any smoother than other foundations I own nor did it apply like it had an in-built primer. As for correcting, I still do notice redness around my nose and darker under eye circles, but it did a great job at covering my pink acne scars!

Facefinity reminds me ALOT of Revlon Colorstay with its lightweight-ness, medium-full coverage and matte finish. Its consistency isn't as thin though (which is good) and is actually better in terms of blendability though since its settling time on the skin is quite average -- allowing time to blend. Also not forgetting the fact that it does have a more bearable scent than Revlon's ColorStay. Big Yays!

For me, I have minor dry patches on my cheeks and this applies and wears well. It does have the tendency to cake, but rarely do I have any problems, even when I build up on the coverage. I still am very cautious when applying it though! My cheatsheet to avoid having this foundation caking around the drier bits is to mix it with a moisturiser, use stippling motions instead of buffing motions, and use a spraying mist whilst I'm at the buffing process. Really does help!

How it looks if I'd apply it without a spritz, primer or moisturiser -- on DRY skin

Although it claims to last up to 12 hours, I've gone with this for 10 hours (without a primer) when I noticed slight fadings. Ten hours is still pretty good though! I've also gone through the toughest heat with this one! We're talking about mowing the lawn under the sun at 25 degrees here! My t-zone sure did get oilier and face got sweatier, but it withstood that pretty well. All it needed was a blot or a bit of powdering and it's good to go again.

Overall, big ticks for:

• Lightweight-ness
• Full coverage
• Matte finish (if you prefer mattes)
• Long lasting power
• Ability to withstand heat and humidity
• Bearable fragrance

Small ticks for (could be improved):

• Oil controlling -- The oils for my t-zone seeps through every 3-4 hours of wear which I thought could be improved on. Blotting doesn't bother me, but this is probably a crucial point to note if you have oily skin!

As much as I like this foundation, I wouldn't wear this on the daily though since I personally prefer light coverage, dewy finishes, and I'd look into something more hydrating. I'd recommend this to: normal to oily skin types; matte-lovers; or those who are looking for a foundation which would be ideal for photographic events though, such as clubbing and/or parties!

Saturday/Sunday Steals #29: $700+ worth of make-up for $80. Wuht?!

Good evening peeps. As I'm typing away, it's 11:31AM on a Sunday morning. I've just only came back from the markets 2 hours ago and I'm SO excited to show you guys what I've purchased!

So I said that my previous markets haul was probably one of the "BEST" markets haul EVER.. Well. I'm going have to scrap that, because today's markets haul totally blew me away!

Here are the products that I've purchased today... ALL make-up products were $2 each and nail polishes were $1 each!

(B Collection, Rimmel Primer was 50c each, Herbal Essences Hair Mask $3, Australis old blush 50c)

Revlon quad was $1 and yes, I've got this Chi Chi NUDES palette for $2!!!!!!!

Jen & I actually follow each other on Twitter for quite some time now and I didn't know it was her until I saw her tweeting about selling at the markets. So when I saw an Asian girl selling her MASSIVE collection of make-up at the markets, I just knew it was her! The Australis products I've purchased in my previous market haul was also from her LOL. Woop!

Chit chat a bits, and she gave me hectic discounts. She'd usually sell these make-up for $4 each, but sold them to me for only $2 each! Super happy! All these products filled up half a Supre bag and are actually worth over $700! I only paid $80 for theseeeeeeeeeeee!

I have a feeling that I'll be starting my own stall at the markets soon at this rate LOL.

NOTD: Sportsgirl's Hello Sunshine & Chi Chi's Glitter

Hi. I don't think I've posted about my NOTD in yonks! Oh. Wait. I've posted about Max Factor's Fantasy Fire not too long ago! Woooooooooops. Totally forgot >_<

So as I've mentioned in my previous nail post, I'm trying to clear out my nail polishes at the moment so I've been trying to wear ALL the nail polishes [that I'm not keen on keeping] at least once so I could review/swatch them on blog.

I've previously gone through my Rimmel London stash, cutting from 9 nail polishes down to 3. My next stop is my Sportsgirl's collection! I actually have quite a few that I don't intend to keep back and one of them is 'Hello Sunshine', a bright yellow (duh!).

Yes! I've paired it with a glitter top coat from Chi Chi. I've used the purple glitter top coat (from the same collection) before and it was disgustingly gloopy and thick. I really thought this one was going to be the same, but it's much thinner! Thank Buddha!

Chi Chi's glitter top coat contains tiny green rounds with small yellow, green and blue hex glitters! If the lighter blue was any darker, then it would probably be my go-to glitter top coat for Australia Day LOL.

Like I said, its consistency is thin which is awesome for layering! I didn't have any problems with this one, but I DID have so many problems with Sportsgirl's Hello Sunshine. Like any other yellow nail polishes (still haven't found the perfect one!), it's sheer and is so annoyingly streaky. I had to layer 5 medium coats for a full and even coverage!

Wa. As you could see, the yellow is still somewhat uneven!!! Meep.

On the plus side, its lasting power is GREAT. With 5 thick coats, it's still going good with 5 days of wear with very, very minor tip wear! However, the colour isn't really my thing so sad to say, but bye bye to this one.

Which was by far the worst/best yellow nail polish you've tried?

I've tried Australis' Rub-A-Dub-Dub, Face Of Australia's Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy and Rimmel's Lemon Drop. The worst of the bunch is probably Face Of Australia's Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy, for me.

A slice of life -- On first week of uni, free condoms, yummy food.

On first week of uni.
I'm seriously the most clueless person on campus right now. I have no idea how things work and where all these study blocks are.. Grr. I study three days a week so in a nutshell, here's how I went for the three days for the first week:

• Day 1: Attended uni for a one hour lecture. Went home. Yay! 
• Day 2: Met some very cute, fun and bubbly friends. However! I sat in the wrong tutorial for 15 minutes. The teacher actually told us the tutorial's subject, but I just assumed she was at mistake. Felt suss about it. Checked my timetable. Wrong room. Spent 5 minutes trying to figure how I'd leave the room without embarrassing myself. Left successfully! Oh god, let's hope that'll never happen again. FML. 
• Day 3: Sister and I attended lecture. Sat down. Turned on phone. Played Candy Crush Saga. Passed the stage I was stuck on (yay!). Sister mumbled something to me about "lecture". Didn't care and just told her "Ya he's coming soon. It's ok". She sat there quietly. Lecturer came in. I looked up and the slideshow said "Accounting". Woops. Wrong lecture! Left as quietly as we could. As we were exiting, he said "Just letting you know.. You DON'T have to be here". FML.

So they were giving out freebies around campus. Of course, being the Asian I am, I went around campus grabbing whatever I can from snacks to poster planners. I've also approached this guy asking for whatever he's holding and he handed it over, he gave me a surprised face. Didn't care to check what it is, chucked it in my bag... Turns out to be a condom. Oh.. BRB. Let me just dig my head into a hole and die.

On #FakeUpAus.

Even though I blog quite often, I only attend to events once in a blue moon. My last event which wasn't too long ago was at Benefit's store on Oxford St, Sydney. Let me just say.. it was the BEST beauty event! I really loved that instead of having the *usual* small speeches, they've actually organised a creative, funny skitz show!

It was truly a wonderful event with some of the most friendliest staff and the yummiest food!

I've been munching. Alot. Again. My belly is getting bigger and bigger as days go! I really need to do something about this... when I feel less lazy. Meep. Warning: Following photos may make you hungry.

I'd love to have natural double eyelids though.... without the crying.

Saturday's Swatches: Rimmel London Nail Polishes

I'm in midst of trying to clear out my stash lately and the first products I'm going through are my nail polishes! I've always held onto every single bottle for future comparisons for dupes, but I have way tooooo much! "Enough to paint the whole house", as my Mum usually says.

The first brand I'm clearing out is Rimmel London. I have their nail lacquers in two ranges: Lasting Finish and 60 Seconds.. The Lasting Finish range separates into 2 smaller ranges with some being regular lacquers and some are fruit-scented (eh, does that make sense?).

If you're a picky one when it comes to brushes then it's good to note that these nail polishes are available in 3 different types of brushes! Yes!! THREE!

From left to right: Xpress 1 SEC Brush (60 Seconds), Pro-cision Brush (Lasting Finish) and a regular brush (Lasting Finish). I don't get why there's so many different types of brushes, but to be honest.. I can use whatever! Doesn't bother me at all, but I thought I'd put that out there for all those who are picky with brushes! :P

Lasting Finish Range

Apricot Punch -- a super pretty coral colour which doesn't look anything like an apricot colour. Loved this on my toes for Spring/Summer!

Lively Lilac -- Not very lively at all. It looks quite dull on the nails actually and is prone to streaking with a sheerer formula! I honestly thought I would've loved this nail colour better. 

Lemon Drop -- Cute pastel yellow! I really like this colour, but it's quite streaky so I had to layer thicker coats for a quick 'evening' job. Despite the thicker coats, it's still quite quick-drying!

Strawberry Fizz -- Such a pretty cool-toned pink colour! Two coats of this is enough for full opacity, but I prefer three coats! This one had perfect application, is non-streaky and is just as quick-drying as other shades. I'm really considering to keep this one, but do I really need another pink? Nop. 

Wine Not -- A darker red wine colour. This one's also perfect in terms of application and drying time. This colour seems pretty good for the upcoming Autumn, yes?!

60 Seconds Range

Grey Matter -- is a blue toned/slate grey colour. Looks like the 'perfect' grey, yes? I really thought so too, but it actually applied to be much darker than what it looks like in the bottle. Nevertheless, it's lovely in terms of pigmentation and its "express 1 second brush" fits my nail shape really well! Only wished it wasn't so dark!

 

Portobello Pink -- another pink, but with shimmers and warmer tones than Strawberry Fizz. Also darker than Strawberry Fizz, may I add!

Deliciously Dark -- is a very dark, dark, dark purple. This one was also perfect (as with most other dark colours anyways) in terms of consistency, pigmentation and application. Two easy coats for full opacity.

Euphoria -- Last on the list! This one has metallic finish with a streakier finish. Adding to that, it's also quite sheer. Meep. Pretty colour though!

The formula of Rimmel's Nail Polishes are surely not over the top, but still good in general for their prices. Most of them are pigmented (besides the pastels/metallics), easy to apply, non-streaky and ALL of them are quick drying!

There's really no vast differences between the two ranges. I don't feel so, at least! Oh, and if you're wondering on the dry time of the '60 Seconds' range, I can tell ya that they sure do dry in 60 seconds, but are still prone to budging so make sure to be careful with them until they're complete dry!

All in all, ticks on my list!
