Top 5 Pinks of 2014

2014 was the year of pink for me! I remember ages ago being really into coral lips and FOTD, but last year was [mostly] just pink, pink, pink!

Well, 6 if you count them beautiful pink roses. I LOVE them. Bought them at the markets for $2 and Mumma keeps saying they're ugly! Unbelievaboh! ( ಠ ಠ )

I'm not really one for eyeshadows, and even if I am, not pink eyeshadows anyways, hence the lippy and blusher overdose...

① FACE OF AUSTRALIA LIP QUENCH IN "PEACHES N CREAM" ($9.45)*
Let's see. How many times have I mentioned this as my top pink pick? Probably 2423599252 times. I'm sure you've all heard about this, the colour is just really adorbs... ok, we'll leave it at that! (。・・。)

BYS BLUSH TRIO IN "ON THE BRIGHT SIDE" ($6.95)
One of the most handy blushers in my stash. Three punchy pinks in a pod, it is. My main go-to's are the side pinks, as they are infused with shimmers, whereas the mid is just matte (and also a tad too bright).

③ ESSENCE LIP LINER IN "WISH ME A ROSE" ($2.00)
Brought this baby to China and used it every. single. day! Such a pretty colour. I've reviewed it here. It gets incredibly creamy with the hotter weather, so it worn down fast since I've purchased it. Need to repurchase soon..

④ NYX SOFT MATTE LIP CREME IN 'SAN PAULO' ($12.95)
The shade is gorgeous! I've discovered it towards the end of 2014... during my time in Guangzhou actually. Really wearable alone, and sometimes, I'd use it over essence Lip Liner in Wish Me A Rose for the Korean gradient lip look!

⑤ FACE OF AUSTRALIA MINERAL THERAPY ILLUMINATOR ($14.95)*
The hype for these may be over, but it has only just begun for me! I've never been one for liquid illuminators, but this shade is amazing! It's pigmented so it's a must to skip blush [for me]. I use a small traditional foundation brush to apply this, to avoid dirtying my fingers and for that stand-out pearly look to stay!

Ah. So pink! Maybe I'll take a sharp turn this year and you'll find a "top 5 blacks of 2015" at the end of the year.. Hehehe. (dirty mind: on)

Jokes! How inappropriate of moi~ ( ̄^ ̄メ)\(_ _ ;)

My Top 5 Winter Essentials 2012: Skincare/Nail-care

Damn, the past fewer weeks have been extremely wet and windy here in Sydney. Aussie's Winter is actually on time this year! This post is running a lil late though :P

I just wanted to share with you my top 5 skincare and nail-care must haves for Winter, which I enjoy using very much to provide hydration for the skin in this cold, wet and windy weather.

So here we go...

1. A facial moisturiser!

It doesn't matter if you have oily, normal or dry skin, everyone needs an effective and hydrating moisturiser for Winter!

My skin is naturally quite dry so ever since we hit Autumn here in Aussie, I've already switched to a richer moisturiser. My favourite pick is Sukin's Facial Moisturiser*, which although isn't a cream, is a very rich lotion, making it very suitable for drier skin types! I'm not too sure how this would go for oily skin types, as I personally find this to feel a tad heavy when applied until it fully sinks in.

2. A multi-functional lip balm.

Who can survive Winter without a lip balm?

I have quite a few favourite lip conditioners, but if I could only choose one, that'd be Lucas Paw Paw Ointment. I love applying a heavy layer of this at night so I can wake up to nicely primed lips, but alternatively it can also be sheered out to sit comfortably under a lipstick without adding too much slipperiness! It also makes a convenient cuticle cream for on-the-go's, which is necessary for me.. just because I take my nail swatches at TAFE in the early mornings and I really don't wish to bring with me my whole manicure kit! Lol.

Uh-huh. Not weird at all!

3. Some handy hand cream!

Most people think hand creams aren't important, but the truth is.. they're just as important as our facial moisturisers! Why? Because they're still of skin, meaning as we age, they have the tendency to wrinkle as well! So please, go grab yourself a tube of hand-y cream (ooo punny!) now!

Admittedly, I never started using hand creams until a month ago when I saw how disastrously dry my hands were in photos for nail swatches. I really enjoy using my Innoxa Restore Hand Cream* (that's been sitting around for too long) which isn't as thin as others and is actually moisturising :)

4. Body cream for soft and supple skin.

I know some of you may not need a big tub of body moisturiser, but I certainly do for my frosty and dry cracked legs! LMAO Sorry for the image :P

I'm super lazy when it comes to body moisturisers, but when I do use one (lol, reminds me of those memes), I prefer Aveeno Skin Relief Moisturising Cream for Winter. It's a very thick and heavy moisturising cream. Way too heavy to be used in the warmer seasons, but for right now, this cream can keep my skin feeling soft and supple for days after application.

Gosh, talk about ultimate laziness... *roll eyes*

5. A non-drying nail polish remover that actually works!

lol. You probably lol'd at me for featuring a nail polish remover, but it's an essential Winter product for nail polish lovers like me ok? :P

I'm quite a fan of nail polishes, I wear em' all the time (and swatch em!), but what gets to me is the removal application. Most removers I've tried really dries out my nail and cuticles although they do a great job, but I'm happy to say.. I've found *the one*! It's the Australis' See Ya Later Nail Polish Remover! It's gentle, but does its job and isn't drying for my nails! Yippee!!

So that's it for my top 5 skincare and nail-care Winter essentials!

What's your top five Winter products?

Top 5 Picks: Australis Cosmetics

If you've followed my blog for a while now, you know that I'm a big fan of Australis cosmetics!

Why?

They have the most simple, but stylish and sleek packaging and great products at affordable prices. Most of all, they have the very fewer products which most lower-end brands still lack such as a make-up finishing spritz, HD products, eyeshadow primers, crackle nail polishes, lip butters and gloss sticks. I think for this reason, it makes the brand itself very unique!

However, don't get me wrong. I'm aware that no brands are perfect and that Australis DOES have those products which makes you squeal 'wth'. But forget that, I'll be sharing with you my top five picks from the brand in this post!

Ready Set Go Finishing Powder ($12.95)

This is my very first translucent powder and I'm extremely impressed with it! Read my review here. It's a lightweight, talc-free, mattifying translucent powder which keeps the oil at bay and actually makes my make-up feel like skin! The only downfall of this product would be its packaging as there's a tad too many sifting holes and not to mention that each hole is the size of a straw. Just kidding. Seriously though, too many large holes... you can patch it up with a piece of tape though. Should be no problem.

Colour Inject Mineral Lipsticks ($10.95)

No way on Earth will I leave this lipstick out of my 'top 5 picks'! I don't think I'd ever drop it out of my list of fave lipsticks even! It's moisturizing, pigmented and affordable with a decent long-lasting power. My favourite? Mambo. Lovely nudy pink. I do also own some very whacky discontinued shades (walla!) as you could see.. purple and orange. I LOVE them! I hope they'll eventually bring out a green and yellow lipstick somewhere in the future heh, it'd be fun and awesome! You can read my review here.

Colour Inject Mineral Lipgloss ($10.95)

I've only ever love two lipglosses in my stash of lipgloss (most are lower end) and it's the Estee Lauder Pure Colour Gloss and this baby. They are both very similar with their non-sticky formula, provides a healthy gloss and hides dry/flaky lips really well. The only difference is that the EL Pure Colour Gloss lasts a tad longer. As for the pigmentation of this, I'd say it's quite sheer but buildable. You can read my review here.

Paparazzi Perfect HD Blush ($12.95)

Proud to say, I'm the owner of Shoot To Thrill and Flash It! I've always wanted to try these blushers, but their '3 for 2' sale at Priceline still hasn't came so I could swipe out the whole
collection. LOL jk. I really love this blush though and Australis definitely should come out with more shades! These blushes are pretty much a trio of three shades of blushes which allows you to mix and match to your desired tone/shade. Awesome right? Not finished yet though. They are also crazily pigmented at the price of $12.95!

Now this last one was hard to pick... I was deciding between Australis' Nail Polishes or their Make-Up Spritz... but I'm actually not a big fan of their nail polishes besides the lovely limited edition green shade, so I figured I'd go with their spritz.

Make-Up Finishing Spritz ($14.95)

This baby, I've also carried home from ABBW and I quite like it. I wouldn't say it's anything I can't live without, but I'd definitely recommend this for those hot sunny days when you're in need for a refreshing and cooling spritz. It also claims to sets make-up while it's there, but I personally don't notice any difference. However, the spritz is still quite nice to use considering that it contains aloe vera (extract?) and rosewater with a lovely scent!

P.S. You can also use this spritz when applying mineral make-up (using the wet application).

So that's my top five picks!

Have you tried any Australis products?
What are your top picks?

Disclaimer: The Paparazzi Perfect HD and Make-Up Finishing Spritz are goodies from the ABBW bags. I am not obligated to review or mention these products in my post, please refer to this site's disclaimer policy.
