Mani-Monday: LUST Lovin'!

I don't think I've ever came across a nail polish that has had such a mismatched name, than this one, Lust Lovin' by Mode Cosmetics ($2.45).

This nail polish was actually sent to me, maybe a year back! And I've only whipped it out today, with expectations of an overdue, downgraded formula~ But to my surprise, it's actually still very useable!

From the bottle, it looks watery and too thin, so all I expected was sheer and lots of layers. To my surprise, it was actually pigmented and incredibly smooth to apply. Still took me 3 layers doe.

Non-streaky as a neon, so I'm really happy with that!

The colour though, isn't one of those mega-neon shades. OK. Maybe on my hands, yes, because I'm tanned (haha). But it's actually not one of those highlighter-neons. It's bright, yes, a tad neon, but still very wearable, even for the shy ones~

Ah, for $2.45 a pop, they are probably the best after Ulta3. Just not as many shades.

You would be too, trust me on this one!

Disclaimer: Product was provided for review consideration, a year ago. eep.

Saturday/Sunday Steals Vol. 31: Revlon, Max Factor, China Glaze, Mode

Prior to starting the post, I actually couldn't find which chapter my "Saturday/Sunday Steals" series got up to.... Mainly, because my previous post of "Saturday/Sunday Steals" wasn't numbered. I'm not too such what happened and why "past Tram" didn't decide to number the post, causing "present Tram" so many confusions X_X

I guess she felt horrible that the chapters are adding up and we've now hit Vol. 31!

You know what's even worse?

I actually skipped a few bags from the markets prior to today's haul... I had SO many bags gathered to the corner of my room, but there's now too many so I've decided to just skip them all. LOL. Woop..

Small haul today though, because I bought a few of these products at a slightly higher price than I usually would.

  • Mode Nail Polish in Jaded -- 50c only! For swatching purposes... Definitely worth it! ^_^"
  • China Glaze Nail Polish in QT -- This is my second CG polish ever and it was only $1. It's also my first ever holographic nail polish... Wooot! I've been meaning to try holographic nails for yooooooonks!
  • Max Factor's Miracle Touch Liquid Illusion Foundation in Golden -- I've heard much about this foundation on Amanda's blog so when I saw it for only $7... Had to snag it home to see what it's about. I totally forgot that our skin types are on different ends of the scales, but hopefully it'll still somewhat work out!

Along with those products, I also got 3 other lipticks to feed my lipstick obsession (have you seen my Lipstick Tag yet?!)...

  • L'Oreal Paris Color Riche Lipstick in Intense Fuschia -- $5, but the colour is so beautiful! The scent is sickening though.. It was also slightly used, but I made sure to give it a really good rub when I got home (as you could tell, the product is almost like... 25% gone in the photo).
  • Revlon Super Lustrous Lipsticks in Pink Velvet and Love That Pink -- These are brand new and were up for "2 for $15"! However, I managed to haggle these two AND the Max Factor foundation down to only $20 for all 3. Quite a bargain, considering that the foundation itself retails for $35.60 and the lipsticks are $21.95 instore!

I can't wait to try these lippies, but right now.. I'm still trialing Australis' Go Long Longwear Lipsticks... Eeep! I'm alwaaaaaaaaaaays late with reviews.. WHY?!?!?!?!?

Anyhows, off I go to paint ma nails and catch up on some of Natalie Tran's latest vids...

Hope you guys are having a lovely Sunday!!

Drugstore Cosmetics Launches for Australia -- March 2013

HEY. This is going to be a long post... so hang on tight! We're jumping straight into recent launches AND next month's launches! Leggo!

Rimmel London launched a new Matte range of their Lasting Finish lippies by Kate Moss. Promises an all day wear of colour and comfort! Never tried them, but I have swatches here. Weird, huh?

Available now. 6 shades. RRP $12.95.
Bourjois has also launched more lippies! Their new "Rouge Edition Lipsticks" are described to be hydrating and moisturising on the lips whilst packing a punch of colour so if you're into vivids, brights, bolds (or neons even!) then this is for you! There's two reds, a fuschia, a peach, a brighter pink and a dimmer pink in the shaderange to choose from.

Available now/soon (I've seen transition of these to stores, but haven't seen stock). 6 shades. RRP $19.00

More lipsticks! Hello! It's a lip fest today, because this isn't even the last of this month's lip products LOL.

Face Of Australia (yay!!) adds two spankin' new shades to their Lip Quenches this March in "Peaches & Cream" and "Mocha Latte"! I've tried these lip quenches before, but I've never been a fan of the scent (apparently is because of the SPF30+). They're extremely pigmented though! Worth a look if you can stand the scent.. the SPF30+ is truly a big bonus I'd say.

Available soon. 2 new shades. RRP $9.45.

Next up -- Models Prefer! Last time I've heard from them was for their skincare range, but this time they're hitting us with their new lip PRODUCTS. Yes.. Products. Plural. With an 'S'. Exciting! :P The price tags of these lip products makes it even more exciting, actually.

In a nutshell:
  • Moisture Lust Lipsticks -- light coverage with an instant moisturising sensation once applied. Provides ultimate comfort when worn and conditions the lips! Available in 8 shades. RRP $11.99.
  • Infinite Colour Lip Liners -- Described to be transfer-proof, waterproof, non-feathering and long wearing. Available 5 shades. The white pencil you see in the photo is actually a clear lip liner so don't fret yet! RRP $7.99.
  • Runway Lipglosses -- A maximum shine and rich coloured lipgloss. Available in 6 shades. RRP $7.99.
All products are available now, exclusively to Priceline.

  • Volume & gloss lip maximiser -- 1 shade. RRP $3.95.
  • Blush -- 2 shades. RRP $5.50.
  • Nail Polish Gel Shine -- 4 shades. RRP $3.50.
  • Nail Fashion Stickers Gel Shine -- 1 style. RRP $3.95.
  • Purse (?!?!) -- 1 style. RRP $4.50.
As per usual, there'll always be an item or two that I'm eye-ing! Looking at you pretty blushers!

Hi L'Oreal!!!!! Hi BB. Hi CC. What? CC? What's CC?
  • L'Oreal Nude Magique BB Blush ($22.95) -- Australia's first BB blush. It's a transparent gel (played with this instores and it's like a rosy-tinted primer!) which transforms into a rosy pink colour upon contact with the skin's PH levels.
  • L'Oreal Nude Magique CC Cream ($26.95) -- What's a CC cream, you've asked? Well, it's like a BB cream with the additional colour-correcting (CC) ability. Described to reduce redness and match every skin tone... eh.

I've almost mentioned L'Oreal's Nude Magique BB Powder in last month's launches. Thought I'd mention it again as it's now in stores!

RRP $26.95

There's also their Carresse Shine Stains! Don't forget! I have swatches here if you're interested.

RRP $23.95

They've also released a new limited edition Autumn collection for their Colour Riche Nail Lacquers which consist of a total of 5 shades! Do I have photos? Nope. Soz!

RRP $6.95. Available from February to September 2013.

And last of the bunch! L'Oreal's False Lash Telescopic Mascara. In short, it's a fibre mascara with a gentle formula that lengthens, is comfortable to wear and won't smudge or smear. This one's exxy though!

Available in Black & a waterproof version. RRP $25.95.

Only a few more products to go guys! Hang on tight!

BYS Glitter Dusts!
Basically, you just paint your nails and whilst it's still wet, dip your nails into the glitter dusts, wait to dry and brush off excess. Brush included. Seems pretty basic to me!

Available in 10 shades. RRP $7.95

Mode Matte Me Top Coat
Nothing new with matte top coats, but it doesn't really hurt to have a matte top coat in your nail collection! Layer them over any colours and it'd be matte in no time! This one by Mode is a cheaper alternative to many other brands

RRP $2.45

Australis Curve Ink Eyeliner
Yay! I've received this in the mail from the PR. Reason why it's curved is so when you hold it, it's perfect fit with your index finger. It's holu golly pigmented as a felt tip. I've tried many felt tips and this one is extremely dark black. The tip is also very fine, but I do find that it creases easily. I've yet to trial its wear time, but once I do.. I'll have a review up!

RRP $14.95.

They've also announced their "to-be released products"! Pretty exciting!!!

Pout Paste reminds me ALOT of Sleek Paint Pouts or OCC Lip Tars even, whereas their "All Over Face & Body Tint" could possibly be something similar to MAC Face & Body Foundation, don't you think?!

Rimmel Metal Rush Nail Polishes
These came with the Kate Moss matte lipsticks. I'm not too sure how many shades there are, but they're already at Priceline! From what I see, they seem to be a range of duochromatic nail lacquers!

RRP $6.95 (I think!)

So that's all for next month's launches! Keep in mind that those Australis products are just sneak-peeks. I have no idea when they are launching so when I do, I'll let you know!

Which products are you EXTREMELY excited about?!
Which products have you already tried?

I personally love the little blushers from Essence's Home Sweet Home Collection!

Colour Me In: A Purple FOTD & Manicure

'Colour Me In' is a series of posts in collaboration with Alice of ArsyParsy, Tezza of Myteeefine and Amanda of Thai-Tales!

*****

Hey there my poo poo heads (actually something I'd say in real life)! :P

A twist on the usual swatches and reviews today! Today's post will feature a purple FOTD on my younger doo-doo head sister, Dung.

I woke up today and got straight to it! I pulled out a few purple eyeshadows with its complementaries and worked my magic on her.. LOL. I kidz. I'm not that great with eyeshadows.. :(

But I managed to whip up a presentable purple FOTD on my sister, here it is..

Yeap! To create this look, I used...

  • Wet N' Wild Eyeshadow Palette in Lust (Limited Edition) -- I received this from a giveaway, and I'm pretty sure it's L/E! I used the bottom four shades.
  • Mode Cosmetics Single Eyeshadow in 'Grape'
  • Face Of Australia Lip Quench in Lychee Crush (as base)
  • MAC Prolong Wear Lipstick in Unlimited (applied over the top)

And of course, to finish off.. I have this beautiful purple nail lacquer to show you!

Breath taking, isn't it?

It a deep foil-y purple lacquer, with silver shimmers by Mirenesse, called 22 Charleston Me from their Bullet Proof range.

The formula and chip resistant wear is amazing. I've worn it for three days in the photo and it still looks fresh!  Remember to check back this space within the upcoming weeks for in depth reviews!

Your turn to tell me..

How do you incorporate purple into your make-up routines?

Whether it be eyeshadows, lipsticks or blushers(?!)..

With the never out of trend purple, make sure to jump over to my fellow bloggers' site for more purple'licious   posts! This week's posts includes Alice's whip up of her favourite purple lips, whilst Tezza will show off a purple boxed blusher (guess?) and Amanda's many ways to wear purple lipsticks!

Updates >.< + Haul

Hi galz!!! My giveaway is coming to an end, so make sure you DO enter! I've added a few more items to it but I haven't listed it yet...

On another note, I've been heaps busy with moving houses, so please excuse me for being M.I.A as I won't have access to the internet for the next couple of weeks. However, I will be writing posts and schedule them to publish automatically (or try to).

So let's start the hauling!

This is the L'elan Vital Ultra Gentle Makeup Remover for Eyes & Lips which I'm planning to use for my face because it's super gentle so it should be right for sensitive skin types. It's an oil-based product as you see, so do shake well before use.
Great idea because oil-based products can removed all types of make-up as it breaks down the particles/substances and all that good stuff, making it easier to be removed.
I like the nice green packaging, makes it look eco-friendly (don't know if it is or not) and promising... this was for a member price, approx $9.

Grabbed this book at Basement Books at Central Station (to UTS) for $4 and there's quite a few make-up tips in there, however they only suggest Bobbi Brown items.. I'll still enjoy it though :)

And then I also dropped down to the pharmacy to grab these eyeshadow duos because I heard good reviews about them. These eyeshadow duos are by MODE Cosmetics...

..and has absolutely amazing pigmentation for $2.95 per duo.
The purple duo reminds me of STILA's Eyeshadow Duo in Orchid, is it possibly a dupe?

That's all for my haul yesterday! I did not have a weekend post because I was busy moving and it was Easter, so I was unsure whether the markets were open or not... poo!

I hope I will be able to blog soon for you galz! Hope you had a great Easter too!

Yours deerest,
