HAUL: Priceline 40% OFF Skincare

If you did not know... YES! Priceline is currently having a 40% off sale on their skincare products! Covers suncare and tanning too, I believe.

I usually skip these sales, but I've decided to go ahead and restock some of my skincare necessities this time around.

Let's have a look at some of my necessities:

FORMULA 10.0.6 Overnight Spot Minimizing Patches ($4.19 on sale)
These make really good overnight pimple patches -- comes in round, clear stickers. Whenever I get a spot or two, that needs to be taken care of swiftly, these do it for me. Stick them onto the pimples for a consecutive 2-3 nights and ta-daah! Pus heads won't even think about growing.

BIORE Deep Cleansing Pore Strips 14pk ($6.60 on sale)
Figured that the 14pk was more worth in value, so grabbed 3 boxes. Two for myself, and the other for my friend. Not much to say about these. Just decent blackhead removal strips. Have always used this and will probably stick to this forever.

OK. So I've only heard of NIP+FAB recently, when my sister came home with their Dragon Blood Fix Hyaluronic Shot that didn't really work for her. She passed it to me and...

Let me just say....

This stuff is AH-MAZING!

For my drier skin, it works as an intense hydration boost for my skin. I use it as directed, mixing 2 drops of it with my Philosophy moisturiser. My skin goes from desert-dry to feeling immensely hydrated, soft and supple.

I never usually bake my foundation as the powder usually clings onto my dry patches, but having this product now, I can start to include baking into my foundation routine. I'm actually quite happy with how well this worked for my skin so far! BIG THUMBS UP!!

Anyways, story of my life... lol. I haven't restocked that yet, but I will, eventually.

On a side note, I've also decided to give their Kale Fix Moisturiser ($29.99 on sale) a go.

I do enjoy using my Philosophy moisturiser, but I'm hoping that NIP+FAB won't disappoint me with their moisturiser. If by any chance that this moisturiser becomes my HG, I could always snag it on sale at Priceline too! #beautybudgetqueen

That's all for my Priceline haul. Don't think I'll be getting anything else as I've still got soooo many masks, body creams and body lotions to finish at home.

OH!

I was also supposed to stock up on my LA ROCHE-POSAY Anthelios Nutritive Oil 50SPF ($22.20 on sale), a sunscreen oil, but I think my sister's taking care of that for us, so... yay!

What's YOUR Priceline haul like?
Have you ever tried NIP+FAB products?

SWATCHES + IMPRESSIONS: Maybelline VIVID Matte Liquid Lip Colours

Took me such a long time to get to, but now we here.

I've received the entire shade range of these Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid Lip Colours from one of
Maybelline's Blogger Event yonkssss ago.

note: Clumsy me, misplaced the 3 other shades so I can only show you the 5 I have on me!

I remember, when we saw these lip colours, we were ALL so excited. I remember most of us having high hopes that they'll make affordable yet quality matte lip colours like many other brands, such as Colourpop, The Balm, Too Faced and so on.

Sadly, "matte" is the last thing that comes to mind when I think of these products.

(L-R) Electric Pink, Orange Shot, Fuchsia Ecstasy, Berry Boost, Possessed Plum

The formula is very much like a highly-pigmented lip gloss. It sits on top and stays glossy for a good 3-4 hours. Consistency is thin and velvety on the lips. Can glide around sometimes, so therefore, prone to bleeding, smearing and transferring.

With the formula it has, I find that the applicator doesn't really help nor offer a precise application.. It's unusually long and flat.

(L-R) Electric Pink, Orange Shot, Fuchsia Ecstasy, Berry Boost, Possessed Plum

Won't lie, the shade range is great though. Covers wearable cool-toned and warm-toned shades, although there are only 8 different shades. However in saying so, I think all colours are pretty average. There's not really a stand-out colour for me.

SWATCHES

ELECTRIC PINK: A bit more cool-toned on me, but still wearable.

ORANGE SHOT: Listed as orange, but on me and to me, looks more like a bright fire-engine red. Orange-toned, yes.

BERRY BOOST: A pretty and wearable, deeper pink.

FUCHSIA ECSTASY: Easily confused with 'Berry Boost', but diz is warmer.

POSSESSED PLUM: Not too dark, surprisingly. Very wearable! Would be good for those who wants to give dark lippies a first-time go.

All in all, if these products were really matte as marketed.. they'd go OFF! But for what it is... not really a hit for me. (ᗒᗣᗕ)՞

Have you tried this range by Maybelline?
Do you prefer them as is, or would you change the product's formula?

Let me know! (⌒_⌒;)

NEW ON COUNTER (JAN 2017): Maybelline, Australis, Bourjois, MUD, Mavala, Real Technique

Won't lie. Started the title to this post as "2016". Ehhh, and I told myself I won't be one of those forgetful people!

Had suchhhhhhh a lovely New Years Eve. A few snaps [from Project Zero] to prove it:

2016 was such a bad year, but at the same time, such a great year. It was a year of... you know, just realising stuff (Kylie Jenner, 2016).

It's hilarious because we all thought, "man, what a joke!" when Kylie included it as part of her New Years resolution.. little do we know... it's true. LMAO. Or at least, it's very applicable for me!

2016 was a year of ups and downs -- it started with so many downs, but ended on such a banging note. So much that I couldn't wait to see what 2017 has in store for me!

I hope you've all had the best, banging start to the year of 2017! And that 2017 will be a more successful and happier year for every single one of YOU!

MUD Make Up

  • High Definition Waaterproof Mascara ($5)
  • Brow Shaping Powder ($6)

  • Lipsticks ($3/4 shades)
  • Velvet Matte Lipsticks ($5)
  • Full Colour Lip Lacquer ($6)

    • Face Defining Contour & Highlighting Palette ($10)
    • Colour Correcting Palette ($8)
    • Make-Up Blender ($8)

Not sure how many shades some of these products are available in, but lookin' at chuuu beauty blender!

MAYBELLINE Brow Precise Micro Pencil ($13.95/3 shades)
A brow pencil with an 'ultra-fine' tip and a grooming brush on one end. Designed for precision and blending.

MAYBELLINE Lash Sensational Luscious Full Fan Effect Mascara ($21.95)
A nourishing mascara that provides lashes with a 'full-fan effect', offering fuller and more defined lashes.

BOURJOIS Twist Up The Volume Black Balm Mascara ($23)
I love it when beauty brands slip in words into their product to mislead consumers, lmao... "balm". OK M8. Anyways, this mascara offers length, definition and volume. Ultra-black, with a 'two-in-one' brush.

BOURJOIS Sculpt Light Strobing Highlighter ($25)
A light, gel highlighter that illuminates and visually sculpts the face. Pearly finish, I believe.

BOURJOIS Delice de Poudre Duo ($24)
Eep. Can't wait to film my YouTube video for this post and f"k up on the pronunciation for this one, yay! Basically, a bronzing and highlighter duo. Yup.

BOURJOIS Delice de Poudre Bronzing Powder ($24)
A chocolate-scented bronzer that offers a radiant, non-shiny glow. Feels like I've seen this before. They must release this every year, yes?

AUSTRALIS Blend Friends Beauty Blender Trio ($14.95)
I've started using beauty blenders lately, and it is the most amazing thing I have ever added to alter my foundation routineeeeee. Saw these at Priceline yesterday, couldn't help but squeal at how the cute packaging was. Hope they won't disappoint! Limited edition.

    REAL TECHNIQUES Brow Set ($10.01)
A set of tools to clean, fill, define and shape the brows. Expect to find: angled tweezers, detailing tweezers, a slanted brow spoolie, a slanted arch definer and a slanted brow brush. Comes with a tool carrier.

MAVALA SWITZERLAND BB Cream ($39.95/6 shades)
Must be a new brand. Surprisingly, pretty accessible if you're in Sydney. Have a look at their store locator. This BB cream is described to be light, with a non-greasy texture. Suitable for all skin types.

MAVALA SWITZERLAND I Love Mini Color's ($8.50/6 shades)
Described as a nail collection that's ideal for the upcoming Valentine's Day, and.. Mother's Day? Hmm. Mother Day's is in Maaaaaay! Way too early for that!

On another note, I've been scouting Face Of Australia lately. Couldn't find them on Beauty Directory anymore... and their stands at Big W hasn't been taken care of very well. Products are getting old and there seems to be no new releases.. Anyone know if they're going to be discontinued?

Don't take my words for it! Just a thought aloud...

However, time to stock up their [famous] translucent powder for future baking-purposes!

NEW ON COUNTER (DEC 2016): Australis, Akin, NYX, Palmer's

I've been out and about this month. As soon as the 4th of November hit (marks the day of my last assessment for the semester), my mum barely saw me at home..

Besides work, I've been out exploring festivals, clubs and many eateries!

    A SLICE OF LIFE

    Instagram vs reality (IKEA)

Chillin' at Bondi and passing Stanwell Tops

Getting my #trameatsfatfat feed @ Goodtime Burgers, Left Of Field, Vine & Grind and PappaRich
    (coz I don't discriminate)

Still waiting for someone to swipe-right me.. (。-_-。)

    ❶ AUSTRALIS BBH Palette ($16.95)
Stands for Blush, Bronze and Highlight. Contains 6 shades as shown, launched last month (woops!).

    ❷ AUSTRALIS Fake Eye-D Eyeshadow Palette ($24.95)
Also launched last month, a palette with 15 eyeshadows. Mix of mattes and shimmers.

    ❸ AUSTRALIS Queen C Cream & Powder Contouring & Highlighting Kit ($19.95)
I LOVE the play on names for these new babies! Fun! This kit contains a range of cream and powder shades for contouring and highlighting. Been on counters since last month as well.

    ❹ A'KIN Hydrating Antioxidant Day Cream ($39.95/50mL)
I've been getting into the higher-end skincare brands recently. Never felt the need for it, but I've been snatching up so many sale opportunities that I think it's safe to say that I'd much prefer higher-end brands when it comes down to skincare.. especially for moisturisers! Thought I'd feature this one, which is formulated with organic cocunut water and green tea!

❺ NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream Kit ($79/36 shades)
If this was available a few years back, the 18-year-old me would've broke the piggybank and go straight for this kit with 36-minis, no doubt. I still really like the look of this, but I'm not a fan of the formula. Not creamy enough, and slips around too much on the lips.

If you fancy the formula, then mate, you're in!

(lmao, felt like that was the most Australian thing I've ever said... yes/no?)

    ❻ PALMER'S Flipbalm ($5.99/3 flavours)
Not sure if anyone has seen these around.. Flipbalms! Haha. Like an EOS lip balm, but flippable. Available in three flavours: Juicy Watermelon, Creamy Coconut and Ripe Mango.

And that wraps up the last #NOC post of this year. Pretty bland this month.

You'd think there'll be products cluttering hoping to debut for Christmas, but Christmas listings actually launched some time ago. Besides, I absolutely dislike Christmas listings!!

There are so many gift packs containing products that are already made available. Not enough new, innovative products, ya feel?

Definitely will hunt for Palmer's Flipbalms during my next visit to Priceline.

Other products? Meh, not so much.

I'm off to Jervis Bay for a few days tomorrow, and then a week later, off on a cruise (not sure where I'm going) until the 19th!

    Catch you all soon.

LIPPY LOVE: Chi Chi Matte Lipstick in Social Climber

Celebrate my comeback with a lippy-post, shall we?

Since I've last updated (God knows when, it's been waaay too long ago), I've been going through phases of so many different lip colours!

Early June, I loved dark lippies. Then I've moved to reds. I think earlier in the year, at one point, I was obsessed with oranges and corals as well. I really can't remember!

However, there are those days when I feel.... blue. Umm... no. I don't mean I want sport blue lippies, lmao. What I really mean is, my mind tells me something along the lines of:

Hmm, man. What lippy colour should I wear today? Something that's not too bold nor bright, but will still brighten up my face.

    Then a few moments later...

A-HA! Where's that Chi Chi lipstick?!?!!?

And yup, it's Chi Chi's Matte Lipstick in Social Climber ($18.95).

This pink, is the perfect pink for me. It's a pretty, warm-toned pink. It's my go-to for when I want some colour to brighten my face up, but doesn't give off the brighter and bolder vibes.

It's almost like a my-lips-but-better pink, but with a slight oomph!

The formula is amazing. I'm extremely impressed with how long-lasting it is on my lips -- even after drinks and most foods.

Although the shade is there, I feel like the colour does dull-out after a few hours though.. so touch-up is recommended!

The shade shows up pretty true-to-colour here!

Otherwise, it's a perfect pink shade with a pretty darn good formula. Worth every penny! And yes, as you could see in the photos, mine's almost out... Needs to restock soon.

When was the last time YOU've finished a lip-colour product?
    What was it?

Can't remember the last time I've finished a lipstick.. Probably a few years back? Haha. Don't think I've ever shown a lippy so much loyalty!
