NEW ON COUNTER (MAY 2016): Rimmel London, Natio, Bobbi Brown, MAC, Clinique, Sally Hansen

Yesssuuu, we've stepped into the month of May. It's almost mid-year again, damn.

On a brighter note, it's my birthday this month! Yay! Well, not the whole entire month, but soon! I've never been so excited for my birthday before, lol. I'm just coming to appreciate that I'll be surrounded by the loves of my life this year around!

My sister and I got into a car accident two weeks ago, didn't think I could make it to my own birthday really, lol. We were driving, and in a collision, we went straight for the pole! My life flashed before my eyes. I'm still SO traumatized by the experience, I get so paranoid when someone else drives me around, but I'm glad to report that I'm physically OK!

Eh, anyways. Nothing else really new with me. Same same -- collecting D pics on my phone (by D pics, I mean dog pics btw. If you've thought of anything else, you are a naughty little girl/boy!), exploring the world of halal snack packs (yum!), and.... catching up on uni assessments!

I hope you've all been well!

RIMMEL LONDON Colour Precise Eyeliner ($13.95/3 shades)
A pigmented and long-lasting liquid eyeliner. Supposed to be quick-drying, flake-proof and easy to use for its soft, tapered felt-tip applicator.

RIMMEL LONDON Volume Colourist Mascara ($18.95)
Ummmm, okay. So... new claims for a mascara product... First time ever reading a mascara claiming to "progressively blacken bare lashes over time" for its semi-permanent lash tint complex.... Ummm? But besides that, jet-black pigmentation, volumising and offers instant "impactful lashes"... huh?

BOBBI BROWN Face & Body Bronzing Powder ($72/2 shades)
This is a limited edition product! Yes, it's for both the face AND body. Buildable coverage, as described by Bobbi Brown. No other info on this..... Thanks BB.

BOBBI BROWN Nourishing Lip Color Oil-Infused Shine ($44/16 shades)
I was a bit scared off by the name of this product, lol. The impression I had was that it's gonna be oilyyyyyy on the lips, but I read wrong. The formula combines 5 natural oils, hence the name. So do expect it to be moisturising, hydrating and condition. Says nothing about the finish, nor the lasting power.... Thanks again BB.

BOBBI BROWN Skin Nourishing Glow Foundation ($90/9 shades)
Much more detail this one, yay! It's described as a cream foundation, that helps to maintain moisturise for the upcoming winter. Emollient yet lightweight, and offers a luminous coverage. Prevents dryness. I'd assume drier skin types would make better use of this.

MAC Brows Are It Collection
Big collection, but pretty self explanatory, so brief run through only!

204 Lash Brush ($18), 208 Angled Brow Brush ($39), 219 Pencil Brush ($39), 266 Small Angle Brush ($45)

Big Brow Pencil ($32/5 shades)

Brow Duo ($42/3 shades)

Brow Set ($28)

Fluidline Brow Gel Creme ($32/3 shades)

Eye Brows ($30/3 shades)

I'm actually interested in the Eye Brows mechanical pencil. Forever trying to find a dupe for my ABH Brow Wiz.... *weeps*

SALLY HANSEN Big Kwik Dry Top Coat ($12.95)
A top coat that claims to make nail colours chip-resistant, offers high-shine and dries within seconds.

SALLY HANSEN Big Peel Off Base Coat ($12.95)
A peel off base coat, like what essence has introduced before. Extremely handy (lol, that pun?) for when you use glitter polishes! But then of course, won't be as long-lasting. Alternatively, you could also use Elmer's PVA glue ($2 at Woolworths!) as a base coat, but obviously won't be as travel-friendly.

BURBERRY Bright Glow Foundation ($86/6 shades)
I've never featured Burberry on here, but this sounded like a nice foundation! The packaging is unique, but besides that, I don't really know what this product is about, lol. It's said to offer a "radiant, lit-from-within complexion". Has SPF30+, but  I have no idea what kind of coverage, or lasting power it has... sooo.....

CLINIQUE Sweet Pots - Sugar Scrub & Lip Balm ($40/5 shades)
Clinique is coming out with quite a few new skincare products this month, but I've decided to skip it. Perhaps check their Facebook page if you're keen! Otherwise, here's a lip scrub and lip balm duo that costs an arm (lool). HOWEVER, what it offers in return, is exfoliation for your lips in 5 nice shades (or scent?). Yay?

NATIO Mineral Eyeshadow Trio ($14.95/3 shades)
Eyeshadow palettes featuring three complementary shades! Available in three different sets.

NATIO Natural Radiance Foundation ($19.95/3 shades)
Anotherrrrrrr foundation! Apparently delivers seamless coverage and nourishes the skin. Infused with a whole list of things that works to energise the skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines.

LANCOME Juicy Shaker ($34/15 shades)
A lip gloss with a unique 'shake it' application that offers adjustable intensity with a satin shine. Brands have been coming out with these "cushion applicators" if you're wondering why the applicator looks funky. Looks like a fun product to use though.

Aaaaaaaaaand that's a wrap!

I also wanted to include some Face Of Australia products that I've received recently, but apparently those have been launched since March... which is odd, because I haven't seen them in stores yet!

However, I have been trialling out those products, so I'll post about them in a separate post!

Let me know which of these listed products got you interested!

I know, there are so many high end brands this month, but whaaaaaaat can I do! If you know of any other releases, please do share!

FACE OF AUSTRALIA AUTUMN ROMANCE: Snuggle Me

Soo, I did feature a snippet of these in my previous launch post. No photos though. I am a bit late, so some of you guys may have heard of Face Of Australia's most recent nail collection, Autumn Romance ($4.95/6 shades).

Of course, being season-trendy as we all know it.. the collection features nothing but shades as dark as our beauty-holic souls, haha.

I haven't worn ANY nail polishes in a long time! I've started a job at a cafe, so wearing nail polishes isn't appropriate. I'm washing dishes all the time, and wouldn't want chipped pieces of nail polishes in anyone's food, hahaha (good job me).

I've decided to do it differently this time! Instead of swatching the entire collection in one post, I will be taking my time with these!

The very first shade I picked to feature is Snuggle Me.

My sister's first impression of the shade was that it looked "quite similar to Ursula from their previously launched [Dark Side] collection! But you can see the differences of the tones in the photos above. Snuggle Me is a warm-toned purple, whereas Ursula is clearly more cool-toned. Silly sister!

Now a few snaps of the colour on my phalanges:

What do ya think?

The application of this shade was fine, as usual. I generally don't have any problems with nail polishes by Face Of Australia, except for pastel shades that they launched a few years ago. This shade would photograph so much better with a top coat, methinks!

Bad girl, I am. I always forget top coats!

Hope you like it though!

NEW ON COUNTER (APRIL 2016): Rimmel London, MAC, L'Oreal Paris, Face Of Australia, Designer Brands

I'm lateeeeeeee again, I'm sorry my beautiful little fools.

What have I been doing, you asked? If... anyone... wonders. At all.

Well, I've been obsessed with:
  • Cool Dog Group on Facebook -- I could seriously stay up all night browsing this group! So many photos, memes and videos of cute pups every single day! And I've realised that Shan of Shaaanxo is also in the group, said "hi", but she never replied. *weeps to sleep*
  • HSPAS on Facebook -- Stands for Halal Snack Pack Appreciation Society, lmao. I've just been obsesseed with snack packs, okay? If you don't know what a snack-pack is, mmmm....... I may edumacate you more. Later.
  • Uni assessments -- I'm not kidding. I've been obsessed with finishing all my upcoming assignments, to avoid last-minute procrastination!

My favourite video of recent:

So that's that. If you follow me on Snapchat (@the_beautifool), I've also attended two beauty events last month!

One by Elizabeth Arden, introducing 2 new products, AND one by Shu Umera, a make-up competition between some make-up artists! I also saw Wengie (the YouTuber, yes) there. I didn't know who she is, and I still don't... lol.

Said I'll check her channel, but I just don't have time.

DESIGNER BRANDS Flawless All in One Foundation ($14.99/4 shades)
This foundation works as both a foundation AND a concealer. Apparently buildable, long-lasting, glides on smoothly and contains skin-loving ingredients.

❷ DESIGNER BRANDS Flawless Lip and Cheek Cream ($14.99)
A 2-in-1 stick that provides a natural flush of colour to both the lips AND the cheeks! Buttery formula, glides on effortlessly, buildable, blendable and won't flake or stick to dry skin!

❸ DESIGNER BRANDS Strobing Stick ($14.99)
Oooo, perhaps THIS will get your attention? Strobing is supposedly the new trend after highlighting, soooooo... I'm actually surprised companies haven't jumped on the supposedly-trendy bandwagon yet. But then again, I feel like the concept of "strobing" was a pop-up trend, didn't last long at all. ANYWAYS, this is a "strobing stick" that highlights for an all-over glow, lol. #italktoomuch

❹ RIMMEL LONDON Kate Moss  Lip Conditioning Balm ($9.95)
A lip balmmmmm, looks like a nude lipstick. That is all.

❺ RIMMEL LONDON Kate Moss Sculpting & Highlighting Kit ($16.95)
Contains three powders to highlight, contour and define the face. You got, a [shimmer] highlighter, a shading powder, and a blush, all in one.

RIMMEL LONDON #instaflawless ($13.95/2 shades)
Never thought a brand would ever come out with a product with this name, lol. "Hey, have you tried the hashtag-instaflawless skin tint?". Gettin' back on track, this is a "skin tint" which helps to perfect and protect the skin, Sounds a lot like a BB cream, and the packaging looks like it'd be something from BENEFIT!

❼ MAC Studio Waterweight SPF30 Foundation ($54/23 shades)
Woooooo, looks like it comes in an eyedropper tool packaging! This foundation claims to deliver colour in an "ultra-fluid, elastic gel serum formula". Softly blurs imperfections, but sheer medium buildable coverage guys.

REVLON Ultra HD Matte Lipcolour ($23.95/8 shades)
I've been using this for the past two weeks, and surprisingly, the formula is lovely! A liquid lipcolour that dries matte, sorta stains too. Yes it is also lightweight as claimed, but not sure it it's very "moisturising". Extremely pigmented though!

❾ THE BODY SHOP British Rose Collection
This isn't an accurate photo since some products are missing and it seems that some photographed photos are not being launched in AU. Apologies, just thought I'd slot in this photo so you'd have a general idea of what the packaging looks like!

Not an accurate picture, but the packaging looks like this.

  • Lip & Cheek Stain ($24.95) -- no photo.
  • Exfoliating Soap ($6.95) -- no photo.
  • Nail Colour ($9.95) -- no photo.
  • Body Butter ($24.95)
  • Hand Cream ($6.95/30mL or $17.95/100mL)
  • Eau de Toilette ($24.95)
  • Soft Bath Foam ($19.95)
  • Body Wash ($10.95)
  • Gel Body Scrub ($29.95)
  • Eye & Cheek Palette ($44.95) -- no photo.

❿ L'OREAL PARIS Men Expert Hydra Power 48H Moisturiser ($15.95)
Adding a men's product because I don't discriminate. And this seems interesting. Why? Because it contains "French mountain water", lol. And I loveeeeeeeee the idea of men's skincare products for my own skin.

⓫ ELIZABETH ARDEN Grand Entrance Mascara ($42/on counter April 17)
This, was one of the highlights of the EA event, that I mentioned earlier. It's a mascara that offers length, separation, volume and curl. Long-wearing and water-resistant. The main focus of this mascara, is the curved brush which prevents clumping. I've still yet to try it, cause, my TOO FACED Better Than Sex Mascara ($32), lool.

⓬ SHU UMERA blanc:chroma brightening UV Cushion Foundation ($72)
Another "cushion foundation", told yaaaaaaaa that these were coming to Australia! They're the new "BB creams"! What does it do? What's special about it? No idea. This one's described to brighten though, with SPF30, and also has a high level of coverage.

FACE OF AUSTRALIA Autumn Romance Nail Collection ($4.95/8 shades)
I'm PRETTY sure $4.95 is the price. I only saw these at Priceline today! Features quite a few dark shades, getting us Aussies ready for autumn, I assume. Sadly, I am photo-less with this one.. Silly me only Snapchat'ed the range as a video clip!

There are also 3 new fragrances this month. I'll be showing you snippets of them on my Instagram (@the_beautifool) instead! Their packaging = everything!

online surveys

Finally finished this post. It's 1:28AM right now... eek. Hungry and tired, and Priceline 40% sale is happening tomorrow.

Anyone else not hyped for the 40% sale anymore?

I just have sooooooooo much make-up, and have been scoring so many terrific deals at the markets, so products from Priceline just hasn't been hitting the spot.

I'LL SHOW YOU MY MARKETS HAUL SOON!
I'm so excited!

See you then!

SWATCHES + IMPRESSION: Rimmel London The Only 1 Lipsticks

I've featured these last month in my launch post, I'm pretty sure! They ARE Rimmel's latest lipstick range! I was quite excited to see them, since I generally have good impressions with similar slim-type packaged lipsticks! (*ノ▽ノ)

Since, I've received 6 shades to trial! I feel like I haven't used them tooo much, so I can't say that this is a detailed review, however I do have an idea what they're like! Thought I'd share!

RIMMEL LONDON The Only 1 Lipsticks ($17.95/12 shades) reminds me a lot of the now discontinued REVLON Lip Butters ($21.95) -- from the slim-type packaging to formula.

Peachy Beach, Best of the Best, Pink a Punch, It's A Keeper, Naughty Nude, You're All Mine

The formula is creamy, moisturising, glossy and pigmented. Nothing too over the top. I tend to blot the brighter/bolder shades as they can apply to be very creamy, and so can slide around quite a bit on the lips. If I don't blot, the chances of bleeding and smearing is higher! Not to mention, I wouldn't want my whole lip stuck all over my favourite Grill'd burger (disclaimer: not sponsored!). :P

So that's my 2 cents so far, for these lippies! Now, onto swatches! (*^▽^*)

YOU'RE ALL MINE
This isn't a bad shade at all. It does a pretty good job at brightening up my complexion, I think!

IT'S A KEEPER
To me, this shade is very much like a my-lips-but-better colour. I don't really mind it, but it's definitely not at all close to being a favourite pick though.

NAUGHTY NUDE
Extremely similar to It's A Keeper, this one. But I think this one's less berry-toned, or mauve-like. I think this shade looks a lot like my natural lip colour... and I don't quite like the look of my natural lip colour, so anything like this, is strictly forbidden!

PEACHY BEACHY
One of my faveeeeeeeeeeees! You guys know I LOVE coral lippies, so corals are real welcomed to my stash! This shade is quite a true coral, a bit orange-y, LOVE!

PINK A PUNCH
Bright, warm-toned pink. This is the warm-toned version of a typical barbie-doll pink!

BEST OF THE BEST
A really lovely blue-toned red! This, and Peachy Beachy, are my top favourite picks of all the 6 shades provided!

All in all, to me, these are like a smaller range of the Lip Butters. However, of course, costing at 3/4 of the Lip Butters' prices, but then the shade range isn't as wide!

Personally, I think they're nice lipsticks to have, although as a budget-queen, they're still a little out of my budget range! If you can afford them, go ahead and try out one or two to see if you like em'! Or, if you're broke [like me], perhaps waiting until a 1/2 price sale at Chemist Warehouse, or 3 for 2 at Priceline!

Those sales shouldn't be hard to spot~

This post was supposed to be posted over two weeks ago, along with my video, but I've lagged it sooo much! My apologies!

Here's my vid, if you'd like to see all them live-swatching action happening:

Hope this post helped! Let me know what you think!

X

P.S. I know my brows are strong in these photos, overdrew them, woops!

NEW ON COUNTER (MARCH 2016): Rimmel London, Revlon, essence, Covergirl, Bobbi Brown, Shiseido, YSL

Hello!

First day into Autumn, I hope you've all enjoyed Summer (for Australians, at least). I've became the tannest I've ever been my whole life last summer, and I'm not sure why. However, hoping that I'd go back to what I was this Autumn/Winter! No more tanning for me! Hopefully! (*´ェ`*)

Uni has started for me, again. And this semester is SOOOO busy! I've signed myself up for a language class, and 3 other theory classes. All which requires work placement, and also a lot of essay writings. Yet, I'm just here... chillin'... bloggin'.... haha.

BOBBI BROWN Cool Eye Shadow Palette ($115/on counter 6 March)
This one's limited edition. Features 12 nude shades in a range of different textures. Silky formula, smooth application and blends well, they said. Comes with a dual-ended brush. Available exclusively at Mecca Maxima or online.

BOBBI BROWN Brushes

  • Full Coverage Touch Up Brush ($54)
  • Concealer Brush ($37)

BOBBI BROWN Skin Foundation Cushion Compact SPF30 ($45/6 shades)
A-ha! Another cushion foundation. Last month, we had one by L'Oreal, remember? (*^^*) Well, this one is described to "stay fresh and delivers a true skin finish". Has skin tone correcting pigments, a silky formula and is packed with skin-boosting ingredients. Cushion compacts dispenses the perfect amount everytime. Refills are $20.00.

BOURJOIS Paris Arty Chic [COLLECTION]
I feel like I've seen this collection by Bourjois some time ago... Anyone think so too?

  • 1 Seconde Nail Enamel ($12/4 shades)
  • Aqua Blush ($23/1 shade) -- a liquid blush.
  • Rouge Edition Velvet ($24/2 shades) -- a matte lip colour.
  • Smoky Stories Quad Eyeshadow Palette ($24/2 shades)

CLINIQUE Chubby In The Nude Foundation Stick ($50/9 shades)
I'm pretty sure this is made available in 9 shades! Could be more. These are creamy foundation sticks that delivers instant, buildable, long-wearing and natural looking coverage. Can be used for concealing or all over coverage!

COVERGIRL Outlast All-Day Primer ($14.95)
As most primer claims: formulated to help prepare the skin and lengthen the wear of foundations. Smooths lines, minimises pores and reduces imperfections.

COVERGIRL Outlast Stay Luminous Foundation ($20.95/5 shades)
A lightweight luminous and radiant foundation (oooh!). Blends easily and formulated with vitamins and all that good stuff (that never really works to do anything).

ESSENCE All That Greys [COLLECTION]
Late 50 Shades Of Grey inspired collection? 。(*^▽^*)ゞ Kidding!

  • Nail Polish ($4.10/5 shades)
  • Smokey Eye Pencil ($6.15/2 shades)
  • Eyeshadow Palette ($6.15) -- I have this! I'll swatch it for ya this weekend! Promise!
  • Corner Lashes ($5.10)
  • Lipgloss ($4.10/2 shades)
  • Hair Bandeau ($4.10)
  • Loose Face & Body Powder ($6.75)
  • Unsure about that nail-sticker lookin' thing in the corner, sorry!

ESTEE LAUDER Brow Now All In One Brow Kit ($72/3 palettes)
Dam, that price doe. The only interesting thing about it is its claim to mimic the natural sheen of brow hair, since it is infused with "micro pearls". Eeep, $72 for these micro-pearls.. This better be brow-magic to anyone who decides to pick this up. On counter 13 March.

REVLON Mascaras ($21.95/5 formulas)
Umm, okay, so there are five different mascaras for this range... I wonder how different could they really be from each other (?)

RIMMEL LONDON Magnif'Eyes Double Ended Shadow & Liner ($16.95/4 shades)
A dual-ended tipped pen that features a long-lasting eyeshadow and a kohl kajal liner. Crease-proof, transfer-proof, and waterproof. Mmmmm, interesting! Would love to swatch these at the stores!

SHISEIDO Synchro Skin Foundation ($72)
Not sure how many shades, but I think this is the first time featuring Shiseido in my launches! Thought these looked pretty interesting, so here ya go! These are described to be a "long lasting liquid foundation that works to enhance the complexion. No creasing, and no fading! Available 27 March.

SUKIN Oil Balancing [RANGE]
I LOOOOOOOOOVE Sukin, but they are launching way too many products this month! So many to compile together! (*゚ー゚)

  • Anti-Pollution Facial Masque ($15.95)
  • Oil Balancing Clarifying Facial Tonic ($12.95)
  • Mattifying Facial Moisturiser ($12.95)
  • Pore Refining Facial Scrub ($12.95)
  • Purifying Gel Cleanser ($12.95)

SUKIN misc. products
Besides the range, they're also adding 3 new products to their permanent range!

  • Hydrating Facial Masque ($15.95)
  • Renewing Green Tea and Jojoba Body Scrub ($14.95)
  • Energising Coconut and Coffee Body Scrub ($14.95)

YSL Touche Eclat Le Teint ($85)
Urghhhhh, what is up with these higher end brands never stating how many shades they have in their ranges! Urgh. Anyways, this is a foundation that matches the illuminating power of the cult Touche Eclat. Visibly awakens and energises the skin, is weightless and offers "perfect" coverage.

Aaaaaaaand, that's all for this month! About 5-6 handful of products, ranging from lower end brands to the higher-ends.

Despite being a budget-beauty queen, I'm always open-minded to prices of the higher-end products, but woah! That brow kit by Estee Lauder really gave me a slight heart attack! $72 for a brow kit! Could buy myself 3-4 ABH Brow Wiz's! Craaaaaay.

What do you think of this month's launches?
Have you tried any new products from last month?

I've tried looking around for MAYBELLINE Colorblur Lip Pencils (swatches here) , but had no luck! Also passed L'OREAL Matte FX Lip Colours. Had a very funky concept, but not sure how I feel about it yet!

Either way, if you're keen on any of the Sukin products, they're currently on sale at Priceline, so gooooo!

SAT-SWATCHES: Maybelline Color Blur Cream Matte Lip Pencils

QUICK POST!

Sooooo, like, I just came back from prancing around at Priceline!

I had two vouchers on hand so wanted to grab some of L'Oreal Infallible Matte FX Lip Colours (now on sale for ~$16!) but they were out of stock, so I headed over to Maybelline's stand to check out their latest Colourblur Cream Matte Lip Pencils ($17.95) instead.

Sadly they don't have any ongoing sales, so I've decided to wait until a nice sale comes along to pick up these babies... frugal life, I know! (/-(エ)-\)

No shame walking around with an arm full of swatches, but dam, it wasn't easy trying to keep them in tact without smudging or rubbing em' off.

Had to go shopping for some grocery after, so tried to be as careful as I could to not smudge em. Carefully picked up chicken, meat and cheese, and then carefully carried my groceries, and then carefully drove home, carefully opened the door and dashed into the house, to the camera in my room! lol.

Hopefully you'll find these swatches helpful! I already know which shades I'll be getting!

Pink Insanity, Fast + Fuchsia, Berry Misbehaved, Orange Ya Glad, Partner In Crimson, Plum Please, I Like to Mauve It

Yes!

Fast + Fuchsia, Berry Misbehaved and Partner In Crimson for me please! Or, the whole shade range (except Pink Insanity, way too cool-toned!).

*hints boyfriend*

Oh waitttttttttt, he's in Thailand for V-tines!  (⊙﹏⊙✿)

What's everyone getting up to for V'tines, btw?

P.S. I think we only have 8 of the 10 shades available in Australia.
