CHRISTMAS GIFTS 2015: Beauty Edition

CHRISTMAS, was quite festive for me this year!

My family and friends have never really celebrated Christmas, or not the gifting tradition of Christmas at least. But this year, everyone started gifting and all.

Makes me feel bad, because this year, I didn't put in enough effort in comparison to them. You know, too broke to really afford anything, lol. Sorry frenz.

But wanted to post about the beauty products I've received this year! *happy dance*

MARC JACOBS Dream Daisy Forever, was from my sister. This year, I started getting into fragrances! Been lovin' Marc Jacobs, for not only their packaging, but scents tooo~ I really really loved Daisy that I received for my birthday this year, so this was perfff!

THE BALM The Manizer Sisters. Lemme get this straight -- I LOVE my Mary-Lou Manizer. Since seeing this little set, I've always wanted it. It's smaller (probably half the full-size), but it's perfect. Considering that a little goes a long way, this will probably last me until I get married and have kids (lol, which is a long-ass way to go, according to mama).

These three CHARLOTTE TILBURY lipsticks were from my boyfriend (thanks boi!). They're from the Matte Revolution collection. Although they retail for $48 a pop, we thrifted them from the markets for only $15 each! Yay!!

Birkin Brown, Bond Girl, Walk Of Shame

I know these shades look real ugly as a bullet, and in my photo (lighting error) but I promise they don't look that bad! Showcase them to ya soon!

TONY MOLY Shocking Lip in 01, was from a good friend. I'm pretty sure this is the lipstick that she almost always wear. The one that I see on her, which NEVER ever rubs off. Lasts damn well. Quite excited to see what this one's about.

Same friend also purchased for me, LUSH Peeping Santa Bubble Bar! Smells amaaaaazing!

(poor disfigured Santa)

Aaaaaand my highschool girlfriends, got me so many things. Amongst them were OPI's Romancing the Frog Duo Pack and MY BEAUTY DIARY face masks (not pictured).

My boyfriend's sister also got me a lil gifty!! (ノ*゜▽゜*) She got me my first BOBBI BROWN products: Luxe Lip Color in Atomic Orange, and Lip Pencil in Tangerine.

These two are PERFECT for me. Atomic Orange is a lovely addition to the lipstick-fam since I don't own any true-orange lippies (that lasts, at least). And Tangerine is exactly what I'd wear as a peachy-coral, the colour is right up my alley!

LAST GIFT!

...was from a friend, I haven't seen in yonks. And all I can say is... she knows me. Quite well (lol).

This Nail Care Bag, a minty lip balm, RIMMEL LONDON Provocalips in I'll Call You swatches of whole collection here >, and LUSH Ultrabalm.

Love everything minty, yellow or grey! Can't wait to transform that minty pouch to a coin-pouch or make-up pouch! ヽ(゚∇゚)ノ

#Eggcited

That's a wrap of my Xmas presents~

What did everyone receive for Christmas?

Whether it's beauty or not, let me know!

Worth The Hype: The Balm's Mary-Lou Manizer

Let me show you a highlighter I've been glued to -- The Balm's Mary-Lou Manizer.

Limited edition product embossing by yours truly, and the bedroom floor

I'm not one to know shit about undertones, but I have no problem with the undertones of this one. I've never tried one with peachy undertones though. Don't think I'd like it too much.

All I care for is, the finish.

Light sheen? Nop.

If you're one for the natural, light highlighting effect, then this is not for you. Why? Because it's fucking metallic.

Ok. That was over-eggxageration on my part, but yeah. This stuff is soooooooooooo luminous that it's, ridiculous. Suits me. I'm a nut too. Sometimes.

One light swipe of this will give your cheekbones that healthy glow, the Korean lookin' glows. A heavy sweep will, um, probably make you look like a disco ball. There are people who likes the disco-effect on their cheeks though. For example, me (and Kat of Kitsch Snitch)!

I love the finish of this. It's what I've always wanted. I've had only limited experience with highlighters, but this one does it all. A tad pricey, not very "me", but I had to pick it up as Amanda informed us that there was a sale on The Balm US' site!

(rollover to see where I highlighted)

I use this everyday. I love, love, love the pearly finish on my cheeks. It doesn't bring forward my dry-flakes to the world, so that's good.

The camera doesn't seem to pick up on how reflective this stuff is, so here's a low-cam quality photo to share.

Oh, the irony..

Look at dem cheekbones though!

Anyhows, besides that, a little goes a long way. Meaning that I probably won't need to repurchase another unless I break this one.... again.

Shoot me all your highlighter suggestions!
Powders only, no creams please!

Powders, because they're so quick and easy to apply. I live life on the edge, always waking up 15 minutes before class or outings, so will never have time for blending in creams!

FOTD: Catch-up with Tezz & Amanda

Hi cuties. Long time, no FOTD!

Why?

Well.. most likely because your boring blogger doesn't really switch things up for her make-up routine. It's usually just eyeliner, eyebrows, lipstick and your average highlighting and bronzing routine. Hue.

BUT!

...but I've tried something different today!

For base, I've used (and have been using) Bourjois' Healthy Mix Foundation in #52. It's a beautiful foundation with a light-medium soft and natural coverage. I know, I'm pretty late to the game...

Didn't powder that day, only bronzed (pretty much all over) my face with Australis' Jumbo Mineral Bronzing Powder. This bronzing powder has the slightest luminous finish, which I don't mind.... but, the shade is a bit grey-toned. I haven't found any problems with this yet.

After purchasing The Balm Mary Lou Manizer, I've neveeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrr ever skipped highlighting since! I love love love this powder so much. It's finish is very (very!) luminous. It may be too much for others, but I loveeeeeeeee the effect on my cheekbones and cupid's bow!

As for the barely-visible-blusher (meep), I've used Illamasqua's Powder Blush in Hussy, a matte pink blusher. No stand out feelings with this yet.

Like I said, I've tried something different today.. and I'm liking it so far! I've used Rimmel London Scandaleyes Eyeshadow Stick in Bad Girl Bronze here... It's very subtle since I still don't feel fully comfortable with having it blended out too much. Will try harder next time so it'll be visible in photos, at the very least.

For my lips, I went for a stained look, using MAC Lipstick in Impassioned for the center, along with a lipliner I've purchased from Vietnam as a base. It's named 'Pastel Pink' by a brand called Mira Line n' Design, but I couldn't find any online information about it AT ALL. Yeap, at all. Gasp.

Besides these products, I've also used an eyeliner I've purchased from Vietnam by mik@vonk. My sister raves about this liquid eyeliner, but I've yet to find anything extraordinarily good about it.... Hmm.

Anyways! Yeah! These were pretty much all the products I've used ^-^

Before I let you go... let me just share you some delish snaps of the food I had. Yammy!

Yes, we went to Grill'd. Munched down some fries and a Crispy Bacon & Cheese Beef Burger, alongside with a Tiramisu-flavoured Iced Latte from elsewhere (forgot! woops!).

KKK. That's all for this blog's post.

You are all dismissed... till next time!
