NOTD: Polka Pink and Coral by B Collection Nail Polishes

Hi hi!! This is gonna be a quick post! I swear I'm not being lazy but there's only a few decent snaps from when I had these nails on!

I whipped out my favourite B Collection shade 'Vancouver' and another shade that I've had in the collection for a while, 'Santorini'.

Santorini, Vancouver

'Vancouver' is a soft pink and is my favourite pedicure shade. I'm not very comfortable with wearing bright and bold colours on my toes so I always paint it any soft and 'not so loud'. However, for this Summer, I've got heaps tanned so 'Vancouver' just makes me my feet look... dirty. Yeap. Dirty. Maybe because it makes my feet looks so much more tanned!

So I decided to try something new... I picked up 'Santorini' which I've also had my eye on. It's such a pretty coral in the bottle, but I've somehow forgot about it until I was 're-analysing' my nail collection.

Next thing ya know, it looks fab on my toes. LOL. No joke! It brightens and really gives a cute, poppy feel which I really like! I'd have to say that these two are most likely the only two nail polishes that I'd ever wear on my toes.

Anyways, enough about toes and feet.

I stumbled across a simple, yet cute nail art manicure the other day (I really can't remember where I saw it from) but it was so simple and easy that I'd have to give it go!

Pretty much just dots on opposite colours! The photo I saw used a beige colour on black, which looked way more sophisticated and prettier than my dodgy take, but hey! I gave it a go.. We all know I was never ever good with nail arts anyways!

I don't think you can find B Collection nail polishes anymore.. they were exclusively available to Target but I think the line may be discontinued now.. Hmm. Their formulas are decent, but not worth their original $14.95 price tag. However I highly recommend these two shades if you do find them on clearance!

Colour Me In: 50 Shades of Green (not really, just 5!)

'Colour Me In' is a series of posts in collaboration with Alice of ArsyParsy, Tezza of Myteeefine and Amanda of Thai-Tales!

*****

Not really '50 shades of green'. Just 5 very different shades of green nail polishes I own!

These are the ONLY 5 and when I dug them out and had them in my hands, I realised that they are holy golly unique in their own tones!

Oh guys, sorry for the bad pics in this post... As I come home everyday, the sun is always almost setting so I had to rush these photos before it sets because swatches by artificial light sucks... so my nails are totally not prepped for these photos! :(

Anyways, here are the five nail polishes!

From left to right:

L'Oreal Paris Colour Riche in Blue Reef (thumb) has an awesome fast-drying formula with a supersized brush and lovely pigmentation. It's a deeper teal shade so much preferred for the colder seasons in my opinion! ^_^ Click here for more swatches!

B Collection in Bahamas reminds me alot of what a 'venom' colour would be! It's a bit thin in consistency but works fine. I was very surprised to find out that this had much of a matte-r finish. I would rock this somewhat-neon shade in any season!

Ulta3 in Mojito has a thinner consistency too, but I didn't really like the brush. It didn't flare out during the application so I did find it hard to work with but it's lovely and isn't overly poppy like B Collection's Bahamas.

Australis Cosmetics in Limited Edition 2 is now discontinued but is my favourite green nail polish! It's so lovely, unique and flattering in my opinion. Brightens my day :D The formula is however on the thicker side so it can be a bit gloopy. Meep.

Revlon in Beach is also discontinued (I believe!) and it has the thinnest consistency out of the bunch. I had to pack on many layers for an opaque finish. It is a lime green-yellow with a shimmery finish that will definitely be on my nails this Spring/Summer.

Sorry for this post being a tad rushed! I'm SO extremely tired that I can really sit here and complain ALL day! Meep!

Either way, I do hope that you enjoyed reading this post!

Do YOU have a favourite green nail polish that you would rock no matter what seasons?

Also, Anny, my close friend has told me that some of her UTS friends happen to read my blog too! So if you're reading this, hi and thank you SO much for your kind words!

I truly appreciate it and please don't feel shy to leave me any comments, tweet me or catch up with me on my Facebook and/or Instagram (@the_Beautifool)!

& of course, I know my post just isn't enough for you green lovers, so here it goes! If you're more about minty pastel green, check out Tezza's post for more, Alice's space for an eyeshadow look with rainforest inspiration, and Amanda's swatch & look of some gorgeous green eyeshadows! Walla!

B Collection Nail Polish in Moscow Photos, Review & Swatches

Another b collection post!
I've mentioned b collection's nail polishes several times before in my blog so you should be very familiar to these! For your convenience, you can view the posts here.

Today's shade is 'Moscow', a shade that I won't ever purchase myself. It just looks too gothic and I'm not a fan of dark nail shades at all.

I only have this shade because it was $3 at the markets and Mum actually purchased this.  As neither of us are fans of darker shades, I've concluded that Mummy only bought it because I told her many times that these b collection polishes are $15 at Target! loool! Mummy, you hoarder! :P

Anyhows, a closer look at Moscow reveals that it's not just a true black nail polish. Surprised!

Moscow is a very, very dark blueberry shade which makes it look almost black and is of a creme finish. It's actually really hard to see the blue tones, unless you have really (really!) good eyes or else it'll only be visible in a sheer application of the shade.

It applied very well -- not streaky, gloopy, clumpy or anything, so I'm happy about that. Two coats is enough for opacity. However, the shade wears only for a day before minor tip wear starts to show and wears for about four days before chipping starts to occur.

Pretty sure I've said this before.. but I think for the price, the wear time could do better, and in my opinion, maybe the shade could be adjusted so the blueberry tones would actually show and won't be mistaken as a regular black shade?

You know what I mean, jellybean?

B Collection nail polishes retails for $14.95 at Target and is only available in Australia.

B Collection Nail Polish in Memphis Photos, Review & Swatches

I know, I know.. too many B Collection's nail polishes posts!

I'm hoping to feature more brands I own, but I truly do love the cute little bottle packaging of B Collection nail polishes! Don't you?

At first glance, Memphis looked like any regular dark toned purple, but at a closer look, you can see a chocolate-brown sheen infused with slight shimmers (which unfortunately can only be seen under sunlight).

It's gorgeous though, and is perfect for these upcoming Winter in Australia here!

Love this shade!! So extremely pretty! It looks much pretty when worn than in bottle, so I think most will skip this shade when they pass it at the stores and most likely, partly due to the price tag too. At $14.95, it is more than pricey for a low-end brand.

Memphis' first coat was surprisingly sheer, but the second coat evens out just about everything. I can still see very few uneven patches which are very little noticeable and can be fixed with a third coat.

Whilst the consistency was just perfect -- non gloopy, thin or streaky, I did struggle with uneven patches (quite unnoticeable) around my cuticles where the brush tip first meets. I'm not exactly sure if it's just my personal experience or the brush is to blame.

Memphis lasted well on my nails for five days with the usual tip wear, fortunately, no chips! Yipeee!

Overall, nice shade and consistency, but as always, too pricey for me! I'm glad I've purchased this only for $2.50 at the weekend markets!

So far, I've reviewed and swatched Corfu, London and Memphis! Off my list they go!

Hope I won't bore you with these B Collection posts, because there will be plenty more of B Collection swatches coming your way!

You ready? ;)

B Collection Nail Polish in London Photos, Swatches & Review

As promised from my market post, today I'll be sharing my thoughts and swatches on  B Collection's Nail Polish in London!

B Collection launched in 2009 by Bloom Cosmetics and is exclusively available at Target (in Australia only). The range contains cosmetics of all sorts, but what I'm eye-ing are their nail polishes which are inspired and named after cities all over the world!

Today's post features 'London' which isn't just your usual black polish!

London is a straight black with a twist of very fine holographic glitters that reflects to rainbow colours under sunlight and under some indoor lighting. Note that the glitter itself is holographic, not the polish!

The brush is just your average size brush applicator, very easy to work with and I'm glad I had no struggles at all!

The polish isn't gloopy, streaky or difficult to work with in any way, maybe because it is a black shade! Opaque in two coats although I do find that it chips off a bit quicker than my other polishes. By day 3, it would start to chip around the edges already!

I'll leave you to the swatches!

Overall, I'm personally happy with the formula of this shade, how easy it is to apply and as always -- the simple bottle packaging. However, I'm not all over the chip resistant power and it's way too expensive for me, a tight-budget student!

Have you tried any products by B Collection at all?

Favourite Nail Polishes Photos & Swatches

I've been loving to apply nail polishes lately! I never used to until I realise how ugly nails look without nail polishes!

Today, I thought I'd share with you my most loved colours, most I've included in my 2011 Favourites post and a few that I've recently tried and added to ma fave stash.

Long time favourite 'Limited Edition 2' by Australis (which obviously has been discontinued) is a gorgeous lime green. This shade really is the most unique within lower-end brands here in Aussie. You can skip the formula though, review here.

Then I had an addiction to frosty nail polishes (still do!) after testin' this Collection 2000's polish at the market in Bronze.

You can totally tell why this is a fave polish!! Soooo pretty!

Ulta3's Lolly Pop Lilac is also another pretty pale purple..... with lotsa frost!! It is super cheap and the formula is very decent! One of the best 2 bucks spent in moi life. I love it!

Then after ABBW 2011, I had an opportunity to try ORLY's Sweet Peacock which although applied gloopy and uneven, it is one of the most beautiful frosty polish shade you will ever see! Loses its frost after a day or two though. Despite that, I wore this polish for weeks and couldn't stop starin' at ma nails. I'm not even exaggerating!

All ABBWers knows I'm talking about!

But back to cremes, I was able to score some polishes from B Collection for dirt cheap at the markets. My favourite out of three I've tried is Vancouver. I love this shade for pedicure as it doesn't stand out and is really pretty when you probably don't see anything special... boo-ya! The formula is streaky for the heads up!

Another creme polish which is a fave is Jordana's Chiffon. I'm sure I had this for long now, but never laid an eye on it. Who knows it'd end up being one of my top favourite shades! It's a lovely light grey-toned mocha colour. Applies well, but from what I remember.. it doesn't last very long!

Before all these polishes came to the scene, OPI's You're Such A Kabuki Queen was what I wore all the time during highschool, I must confess that I haven't touched this polish in a long long time and I do apologise! I used to wear crimsons all the time back then but began to opt for reds with pink or coral tones instead. This is a sweet, sweet pinky-red creme polish which is a must have for moi!

To conclude the post, a fifth frosty I've loved is Sinful Colors' Secret Admirer which I must admit... I love because of the sparkles! It's just an almost-black with silver frosts which I already plan to rock out in the upcoming Fall!

Frost, frost, frost, frost. I love frost. The end.

What are your favourite nail polishes?!

B Collection Nail Polish in Corfu Photos, Review & Swatch

Happy Valentines Day everyone!

I was suppose to come up with a Valentines-inspired manicure, but I've been liking this blue on my nails. Very cheery and springy!

Let me present to you, B Collection's Corfu.

Corfu is just your typical baby blue which actually reminds me alot of Maybelline's Colorama in Party Blue.

It actually looks much lighter in real life... The lighting was messin' with me!

This shade applied a tad streaky and needs at least three average coats to be opaque. The formula was honestly a bit disappointing in my opinion.

What are you wearing on your nails this Valentines?

B Collection Nail Polishes retails for $14.95/11mL, available only at Target in Australia.
