April Favourites 2011

I'm 7 days late, but here's my April faves :) I've been using these products so often the whole previous month and I think I'm gonna stick to the similar products for this whole month too!

Anyways, here are the products...

RIMMEL LONDON Glam' Eyes Lash Flirt Mascara
I've always loved the Glam Eyes mascaras and this is one promises volume and lift. It's been way too long ever since I used my original Glam' Eyes so I can't tell you if it does extra.
However, I loveeee this mascara!! I love the mascara wand as I could control the volume and length. The bristles comes in two different lengths and I love using this for my lower lashes because sometimes I like them to look volumized but not too lengthy or vice versa.

I'm sorry but I don't have photos of the bristles!! Till I review it... Yap.

AUSTRALIS Color Inject Mineral Lipstick in MAMBO
This lipstick has been in a corner for a while because my dry and flaky lips has been a problem all this time! Ever since I've been on Roaccutane!! So I never wore lipsticks, however lately, I've been wearign this shade more and more. It's a darker pink with a cool-undertone so therefore, it does make my teeth appear more yellow but nonetheless I still love it. The fact that it's a wearable-everyday nudy pink makes me happy because I really don't like my lips!! So I believe this hides it really well :)

Here are some swatches for you lovelies. Mwa.

BLISTEX Lip Conditioner SPF15
I don't enjoy using jarred-products, but I can't deny that I do find them to be the best of all! Jarred products itself is usually more medicated, in my opinion, so therefore I really think it works better!
Now.. I LOVE this lip balm and it has always been my favourite ever since my dry and flaky lips has freaking bugged me. This stuff is great and I recommend it for dry/flaky lips.
I know, you can get this in a lip-balm form and a lip-tube too, but this jar works best [for me] as it glides on easier than the chapstick form and isn't as waterty as the tube-product... if you get what I mean.

BIOGLO Omega3 Serum
This serum was a gift from a girlfriend of mine and I never used it. It always sat in the corner because I never knew its use. However! Lately I've been using it, and it I think it works GREAT for my dehydrated skin. I could definitely see dramatic changes on my forehead and the feel after applying this... GODLY. No.. but seriously, this serum promises to help dehydrated skin and also ehances my make-up staying power... so pretty much like a primer. I don't know about my make-up staying on longer but I DO think this creates a very smooth canvas for my foundation to come on! So I love!

AUSTRALIS Ready Set Go Finishing Powder
I always loved this stuff!!! It doesn't give me a white cast and I set my foundation with it even though I don't have oily skin. But I know it has once worked great for me when I had super oily skin... Gahhh! Those were the days... But now! I used to have it as a sample and I can't deny that the pigment jar they gave me was better than the original -- PACKAGING WISE. The packaging of this original is SO SO disappointing! The dispensing holes are SO large that the powder falls through SO easily, so everytime I open it, some powder will automatically be wasted.. either within the air or the surface of my table. Zzz There must be something you could do about this, Australis.

ESSENTIAL GUIDE TO BEAUTY Cake Eyeliner Duo
Loving the black cake eyeliner since it's so new to me that this product is water-activated. So you'll dip your brush into the water and then into the liner and then apply it. Quite cool as I never had a cake eyeliner and also, the fact that this comes on as a matte black and has an average long lasting and smudge-free formula! :)
Sorry galz but I don't know what brand this is.. it only says Essential Guide to Beauty and at the bottom says 'Eaglemoss' which I'm not sure if it's a place or manufacturer name LOL!!! Products from the markets ftw!

GLOSS Professional Foundation Brush
I love this little cute foundation brush. Everything about it. It's soft and easy to work with! The good thing that it's smaller so it can get around my nose easily, however, that means it'll take longer for me to finish my foundation routine... I don't mind though ;) One thing I need to tell you is... this brush is heaps better than the BYS brushes in quality and presentation. Zzz...

Thanks for reading and that's the end of my April Faves! :) Link me yours xxxx

Hi hi hi! Up for another market post? I don't have much time to type today.. so it's gonna be mostly pictures! If I miss any details, do remind me :( x

From Saturday markets, I got:

Yap!! Three pairs of boots because it's autumn and it's been so wet in Sydney lately! :(
My favourite pair is the middle pair.. so comfy and so warm!! :D
Each of pair is $5 each..

Besides I got these four items for $1-$2...

East Coast Nail Lacquer
PURE Ice Nail Lacquer
Priceline Beauty Essential Nail Polish Remover
MODE Eyeshadow in Grape!

Besides that, I also got 2 other nail polishes, one from Revlon and another from Sally Hansen, but forgot photos.. :(

I also bought a small travel size body lotion from Bath & Body Works in Sunset Amber :) and it was small extras so it was for a dollar or two.

That was all for Saturday... These are items I got on Sunday!

First off, this small basket is so adorable! I goti t for 50 cents and the moment I saw it, I straight away knew it will be a great basket for my lipsticks haha :)

My friend loves loves her Hello Kitty items, so I picked this up which was still brand new for $1. It has 10 cards and 10 envelopes in the pack, so yap.

And this wind-chime for $1 !!! :D

So pretty purple! :)

What I also bought earlier that day from this adorable lady are these items which was sitting in the basket, noted "$2 each item". So I decided to pick up:

Sex In The City LUST Parfum
And also this unknown brand which says 'Our version of Cool Water'.
Does it smells like Cool Water? Idk.

Next to that basket, there was another basket which noted "3 nail polishes for $1", but most were already used so I picked up these three.

Collection 2000 Vernis a Ongles
Ludanmei No. 5010
Rimmel 60 seconds Vinyl Shine in Black Out

This is where the post is suppose to end, BUT LOL!! My uncle called up when Mum & I got home and asked if we wanted to go to ANOTHER market in Blacktown! So Yes!!! I'm like.. addicted to the markets!! :D

First off!!! I got this Sportsgirl Nail Polish in Caramel for 50 cents.

Review: Aveeno Moisturizing Cream

Who doesn't have dry skin? Not me. Everyone certainly must have dry skin at some point in their life, whether it's on your body or face. Lately, for me, my body has been heaps dry and as much as I LOVE the Bath & Body Works Body Lotions, they're just not moisturizing enough so I set seek for a cream which will keep my skin moisturized without having to apply every single day...

I'm one. Lazy. Bumhole. Hehehe.

So I picked up this jar of moisturizing cream by Aveeno. It's a creamy colour jar with a navy blue top, quite simple, however, what attracted me to this product was
its price of $12.95 (approx) as it was on SALE (so Asian!) and also the packaging stated so many damn claims and good stuff that it's not funny.

It states that:
- It's dermatologist tested
- Clinically proven to heal cracked and dry skin
- Has a cooling menthol

Dermatologist tested? I do not know.
Has a cooling menthol? I can't feel it on my body.
Heals cracked and dry skin? Yup

I really can't feel anything with this on my skin. It just feels normal. Nothing special or bad, really. However, on my face it feels very heavy with
with a cooling sensation, so if you're looking for a cream which you can use on both face and body, this is definitely not the product.
I recommend QV cream which comes in a jar and a squeeze tube <-- godly product I must say.

Anyways, today's spotlight is on Aveeno's moisturizing cream, so let's forget QV for the time being...

The cream definitely heals cracked and dry skin as stated. My arms were actually very dry lately.. probably because I've been showering in the hottest water since it's
Winter and it's so damn cold and wet here in Sydney. Poo!
I apply this cream to my body after showering and then let it absorb for a few mintues. Using this cream has gave me a quick result of moisturized skin and not to mention
I only use this every second day because I do get lazy... so yap!

I find the lotions (besides Nivea) to be too watery and texture so I don't like it since it didn't do jack for my skin! Waste of money.

Anyways, I'm not saying this is the BEST moisturizing but it certainly does fit in one of the BEST. It's easy to blend, does its moisturizing job, has a pleasant scent, heals cracked and
dry skin, affordable for its size and available locally at Priceline (or other pharmacies). The only thing I don't like about it is that it feels to heavy on my face
and it's in a jar packaging so you better get your hands and fingers cleaned before dipping it in and out of the jar... for any of you hygiene freaks of course. Personally,
I try to keep my fingers as clean as possible (therefore only apply after shower), but if I had to use it on-the-go then I don't care because it's going on my body anyways,
not my face.

Ok, so for the lazy gals who will scroll down here to see the PROs and CONs and/or the gals who will get up to this overall section after patiently reading, here it is:

PROs:
  • Affordable
  • Easy to blend
  • Moisturizes heavily
  • Large size tub
  • Pleasant scent (personal)
  • Available locally
  • Cooling sensation [on face and/or body]
  • Dermatologist tested
  • Came sealed inside packaging

CONs:
  • Not suitable for face as it feels very heavy
  • Large size tub can also be a con
  • Jarred-packaging, therefore is not sanitary

Yes. Take my word for it. I recommend this product and I hope you find this post helpful!

Updates >.< + Haul

Hi galz!!! My giveaway is coming to an end, so make sure you DO enter! I've added a few more items to it but I haven't listed it yet...

On another note, I've been heaps busy with moving houses, so please excuse me for being M.I.A as I won't have access to the internet for the next couple of weeks. However, I will be writing posts and schedule them to publish automatically (or try to).

So let's start the hauling!

This is the L'elan Vital Ultra Gentle Makeup Remover for Eyes & Lips which I'm planning to use for my face because it's super gentle so it should be right for sensitive skin types. It's an oil-based product as you see, so do shake well before use.
Great idea because oil-based products can removed all types of make-up as it breaks down the particles/substances and all that good stuff, making it easier to be removed.
I like the nice green packaging, makes it look eco-friendly (don't know if it is or not) and promising... this was for a member price, approx $9.

Grabbed this book at Basement Books at Central Station (to UTS) for $4 and there's quite a few make-up tips in there, however they only suggest Bobbi Brown items.. I'll still enjoy it though :)

And then I also dropped down to the pharmacy to grab these eyeshadow duos because I heard good reviews about them. These eyeshadow duos are by MODE Cosmetics...

..and has absolutely amazing pigmentation for $2.95 per duo.
The purple duo reminds me of STILA's Eyeshadow Duo in Orchid, is it possibly a dupe?

That's all for my haul yesterday! I did not have a weekend post because I was busy moving and it was Easter, so I was unsure whether the markets were open or not... poo!

I hope I will be able to blog soon for you galz! Hope you had a great Easter too!

This is another Oz post because this product is only available in Australia, so for everyone else.. you miss out. But I'm sure we miss out more on the deals you guys get such as BUY 1 GET 1 FREE, the refund policies and $1 brushes from ELF, of course. *still jealous*

What is it So glossy and nourishing, long lasting but it’s also moisturising. It’s an injection of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, your very own lip doctor. It contains Kakadu plum which is one of the world’s highest known sources of vitamin C. Vitamin C is not only soothing, but also naturally stimulates collagen formation. Moisturising, smoothing and lip defining peptides are added to help make this the hottest thing on everyone's lips!

Why we love it Super gloss, super moisturising and super fun colours! Lip defining and long lasting without that sticky factor. Plus it has the most delicious lychee fragrance.

RRP $11.95

Texture
I definitely love the texture of this lip gloss. It glides on smoothly and comes on very slightly sticky, which I like. It doesn't glide around on my lips, but rather sits on a spot... so I'm not worried it will smear or so. This product is my second favourite lip gloss after the Estee Lauder Pure Colour Gloss.. beats all my other current lipglosses HAH! And that includes the NYX Round Lip Glosses and the Missha Lip Glosses :)

Long-lasting
I'm unsure about the long-lasting but there's nothing significant, however, its long-lasting power would be average or beyond, not below any other lip glosses.

Pigmentation
Nothing extraordinary. Did I mention that... it's a pure glossy finish without shimmers or glitters. Which I like, because shimmery/glittery gloss is not my thing.
First coat is a little sheer, however, is buildable.

Scent
Although it says it has a lychee scent, I think it has more of a peachy scent. I'm not really sure. I can never detect a particular scent... whether it's floral or fruity. However this scent doesn't bother me. I think the only scent I can identify is coconut... because I hate it with a passion... *ahem* Revlon Colorstay Mineral Lipglaze.

Shades
Available in 10 shades and the most popular is Lambada which is a 'light pink creme' which I have never tried. In fact, I only have one gloss in Bellydance which is a coral shade and I definitely LOVE it! Each shade is supposed to match each shade of their Color Inject Mineral Lipsticks, but mix n' match creates a unique shade for you!

One coat of BELLYDANCE

Bellydance in natural lighting
Bellydance in flash

Product
I don't find this product drying OR moisturizing on my lips. This, for dry lips is OK but definitely NOT for flaky lips. It does put little emphasis on flaky lips -- I actually never came across a lip gloss which won't put emphasis on flaky lips.

Applicator
It comes with a longer-than-normal, slightly tilted and flat applicator which I like. I find this super easy to apply on my bottom lips and also allow me to quickly build up the intensity. This applicator is quite a unique shaped sponge applicator though..

Side view

This gloss comes in a tube of 7ml by the way.

Here's an overview for all you lazy people...

Pros:
  • Can be picked up at cheaper prices as there's usual sales for this brand
  • Fairly pigmented
  • Buildable
  • Availability (can be found everywhere.. in Priceline, Big W, Target..)
  • Decent long-lasting
  • Doesn't have the stickiest texture
  • Available in 10 shades to match their Color Inject Lipstick range (yay!)

Cons:
  • Only available in Australia

I recommend, repurchase and will collect!

Hope you enjoy this review,
