Sydney IMATS 2012 Haul & Experiences

As you are probably aware of, the previous weekend has probably been the liveliest beauty weekend of the year!

IMATS, the annual International Make-Up Trade Show and Beauty Bloggers Utopia, a beauty bloggers conference were held in Sydney. You can probably tell with the frequently updates on the Twitter-sphere and Instagram!

Unfortunately, I didn't score a spot of the two from the Wildcard Challenge to join the fun at BBU, but I did attend IMATS 2012 where I met many beauty bloggers and Youtubers! It was so fun and exciting!

I finally met LingNorlin and Tine. Such cutie patooties! They really did brighten up my day!

And after a year, I've re-met (lol... re-met..) and caught up with Megan and Celeste (Sharleen.. lol!). Very sweet and lovely people to speak to!! :)

I also met and caught a glimpse of a few Youtubers! Some I said 'hi' to, but some I was too shy to...!

Anyways, on to my IMATS haul! I actually didn't purchase much! I spent $73 only. Yes, I'm on a budget and I've came to realise how much make-up I have vs. how much make-up I actually use!

(Ben Nye wheel, y u so pretty?!)

  • Inglot Matte Top Coat ($11.00) -- I've always been on the hunt of a good matte top coat! I saw some matte nail colour swatches at the Inglot stall and it looked great so to my collection, it goes!
  • Inglot Flakie #202 ($11.00) -- I've been DYING for a flakie nail polish! I've seen so many swatches online of #202 that looked amazing! Glad I got this!
  • OCC Lip Tars in Memento & Cha Cha ($15.00 each) -- Cleared off my wishlist! I really wanted Trollop, but they ran out of the shade so I picked Memento instead.. It's still a very nice colour for everyday wear, and Cha Cha would be perfect to mix with any shades for a splash of coral! Gorgeous!
  • Ben Nye Creme Rouge Wheel ($20.00) -- Cleared off my wishlist too! I've swatched this blusher wheel at the Ben Nye stall and the consistency was so smooth and silky with a more-than decent pigmentation, so it's totally worth it!
  • Royal & Langnickel Palette Knives ($1.00) -- Not pictured. So cheap! Just thought I might need them one day! :P

IMATS this year was okay. This year, there was no Illamasqua (because they cannot reduce their prices any further after supporting a Fair Beauty Price for Australia) in which I really looked forward to and I didn't see NYX Cosmetics at all (where were they?!).

But on the brighter side, Inglot's service was so quick and their stall was beautifully set up! Kudos to Inglot! Ben Nye's showcase stall was also nice! Ben Nye's assistants were great in offering us demonstrations for their glitter products (which were pretty amazing!).

Royal & Langnickel were also very generous to treat press/media visitors to manicures and massages upstairs! Thank you so much Royal & Langnickel!

Overall, it was a very long day for me, but at the same time, it was so fun and exciting to meet and catch up with so many beauty bloggers and Youtubers... in a hall full of make-up stalls! Now.. another year until IMATS again.... *frowns*

Can't wait to see everyone's IMATS haul!!!!!!!!!! (Can you tell how excited I am for the so many exclamation marks?)

Sydney IMATS 2012: Tag & Wishlist

Sydney IMATS (International Make-Up Artist Trade Show) is a make-up trade show featuring international brands/companies to exhibit, live demonstrations by international make-up artists, international guest speakers, masterclasses, showcases of make-up masterpieces and student competitions!

Sydney IMATS 2012 will be held at the Sydney Convention Centre on the 29th and 30th of September 2012! Yay!

Tickets can still be purchased here.

------------

I can't believe it's been 1 year since the Australian Beauty Bloggers Weekend! Last year was the first time I went to IMATS and attended ABBW with Alice, Tezza and Amanda where we met for the very first time!

Although it's been a year, I still feel grateful and happy that ABBW happened (thanks to Kimmi, Jacie and event sponsors) -- where I was able to learn about beauty blogging and how to work with PRs!

Anyways, it's been one year and we've only reunited (altogether) once and it was at Tezza's 21st birthday! Boo! I really cannot wait to see them this weekend! Yipeeeeee!

I actually filmed an IMATS tag video last month on my YouTube channel (yes, I have a YT channel!) and here it is!

I know I have alot of make-up and that I'm on a make-up ban, but have I told you that it excluded IMATS & market hauls? LOL! :P

Here's my IMATS wishlist for this year, based on the list of exhibitors and from what I saw at IMATS last year...

1. Inglot Matte Lipsticks -- At first, I was really keen on Illamasqua lipsticks, but as they won't be exhibiting at IMATS.. I've moved onto Inglot! I've never tried Inglot products, except for a few eyeshadows, so this will be exciting!

2. Ben Nye Creme Rouge Wheel -- I purchased a bruise wheel from them last year, but only saw their blush wheel after when I got home! Super excited to have a look at their cream blush wheel as I've been wanting to try out cream blushers for yonks and this wheel looks not only convenient, but also of great quality!

3. OCC Lip Tars -- I have a few shades jotted down to make sure I remember which shades to look at, at IMATS! Divine, Trollop, Queen, Grandma, Memento and Hush! Hopefully they are discounted at IMATS, that'd be great :')

4. Inglot AMC Lip Pencil -- I'm in need of some lip liners in my life! I've tried Australis' lip liner, but it's not that great.. so now is the time! Coming for you AMC lip pencils!

5. Mehron Spirit Gum Adhesive -- Halloween is coming and whilst we don't celebrate Halloween in Australia, I still like to create scary make-up looks! I have liquid latex and scar wax at home, all I need now is spirit gum! This would be greaaaaaat! Waaaaaaaaaaaa!

6. Sue poo (not pictured LOL) to come down to Sydney so we can go to IMATS together 8(

Yeap!! That is all! Your time to shine...

Are you attending Sydney IMATS 2012? What's on your wishlist?

Link me if you have a wishlist!

Thanks for reading!

Sydney IMATS Haul 2011

Heh I bet you've seen so many of these IMATS haul posts by Sydney bloggers in the past fewer days as IMATS just happened over the last weekend! I also DID attend IMATS as a part of the ABBW (Australian Beauty Blogger Weekend) and I did write about it in my previous post.

Ok. So let's start this haul post!

I honestly don't remember which stand did Tezza, Alice and I visited first. I think it would've been either the Make-Up Forever stand or the MAC stand, but seeing that it was a tad crowded, we went for a round and decided to come back later.

We passed the Serge Louis Alvarez (SLA) stand and they had a "3 for $30" deal on their lipsticks from an old collection! Together with Tezza, I picked up these two lipsticks which has no given name ~.~

Yes! An orange and a pastel purple coloured lipstick! Even though I've been loving bold lippies lately, I honestly won't ever wear that pastel purple lipstick out and about! I love it though!

I've been eye-ing Lime Crime's pastel purple and yellow lipstick for a while now... so now I'm on the search for a yellow lipstick. If you have any ideas (besides Lime Crime), please tweet or comment me!

And then we passed INGLOT where I made a purchase on three eyeshadow refills in matte black, matte blue and matte yellow. They were $7 each with their 30% off deal!

I actually don't wear eyeshadows. I personally think it makes me look a tad older than my age, but I DO enjoy doing funky inspired or crazy make-up looks sometimes. For $7, these eyshadows are crazily pigmented I tell ya!

After that, I made my way back to the MUFE stand but it was so crazily packed, so I just left after swatching a few of their HD blushers. I went around to find a stand which stocked their HD foundation for $42 (a few dollars cheaper) with no long queues, so I just grabbed one in #123 which hopefully is my shade!!

HD Foundation. Checked. Inglot Eyeshadows. Checked. Lipsticks. Checked!

Initially, that was all I wanted from IMATS, but since MAC was having a 20% off, I thought I'd check out what they have in store.. I ended up purchasing their Mineralize Skin Finish Natural in Medium Plus for $37. I always wanted a powder which gives off a dewy finish so I wanted to give this powder a try, because I saw Pearl Tam using it and it gave her such a nice and dewy look!

And then Ben NYE! I was so excited to visit their stand, but too bad they are just a 'presenting' stand, so we had to find other stands which stocks Ben Nye products which was Scotty's Make-Up & Beauty and bought a powder blush for my sister in Fresh Coral which was $10! So cheap!

And last of all is this awesome Special Effects Master Bruise Wheel by Ben Nye!!! I've always loved special effects! I'm so excited to use this wheel on someone's face heh! You could see that I already started playing with it :P

One thing I don't understand is why do they have a yellow and muddy green in the wheel? *confused*

However, on a similar note, Amanda, a friend who couldn't attend the earlier half of Day 1 decided to bring us some Sportsgirls goodies as a gift! It was so sweet of her! You really didn't have to Amanda!

She included two lipsticks, two eyeshadow trios and 1 blusher for all 3 of us :D Awww! Happy! I'm now the happy owner of 5 Sportsgirls lipsticks which motivates me to write up a review for them soon!

Please stay tuned!

21 September 2011

Hello hello!

Hey lovelies! I've haven't posted anything person and non-beauty related for such a long time... so here it is!

Thanks for the awesome comments on my previous post. Some people found the way I expressed myself very amusing and some even think it's an awesome post... hahahhaha.

Honestly, I felt like a bitch typing that post up. I thought it'd be too rude and offensive! Oh wells...

Moving on...

So.. today, 7/11 (a petrol station) held a 'BYO Cup' day where you bring your own cup, pay $2.60 and you can fill up your whole cup whether it's small or large.

So I went with a few people and bought our cups to fill up of course.

HAHAHAH

HAHAHHAHAHAAHAHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH

Bro, might as well take the whole machine home with ya.

I'm just kidding, neither photos are of my friends. I found those photos from Facebook and thought I'd show you guys. Heh.

I DID go to 7/11 to fill up my cup though... which was a mug :) I couldn't finish it thoughhhhhh :(

It looks so colourful and pretty! :)

On another note, I recently received my blogger business cards from Vistaprint for this weekend at Sydney IMATS and ABBW (Australian Beauty Blogger Weekend)! I designed it first, and then re-designed my whole blog template to match it! I'm quite proud of myself to be honest (hehehe).

What I'm unhappy about is the font size of the business card. It's so so so small which makes it a tad hard to read. What do you think? My biz cards look so kiddy LOL. I wonder if anyone would want to take them if I hand them out!

The last breaking news is that I've finally been able to rock red lipsticks! Can y'all believe? I never wear red lipsticks because it makes my teeth look yellow and puts emphasis on my acne scars. But I had a full face of make-up done today and left the house with this red lipstick!

Meh, it doesn't look very intensified in the photo.. but it's actually a gorgeous red-coral by Rimmel London in Tell No One from their Color Show Off range.

Finally been able to jump out of my comfort nudey-pink zone. Hahaha. I still love my pinks though! I might do a post soon of my pink faves!

Hope you've had a wonderful day!
