FOTD: On our first date

To my dearest Meeks,

It's been a long time coming, but we're here now! (No, not breaking into 2NE1's Fire).

2014 was a poo year, but the ending to it was lovely, because I've came across strangers with big hearts -- yes, you're one of them. It sucks that we live half the way around the globe from each other. If we had lived closer, I'm sure we'd bloom into something bootiful.

As with every [b]romance, a first date is where all it starts~

My inspiration for first-date make-up:

Brownie points awarded if you know ma 2NE1 jamz

I adore you, yes, but soz, ain't nobody got time to dress like the next Kim K to impress. Expect me in a fresh, light and natural mood!

LASTING LIPS
Expect lots of things to be done on a first date... And by that, I mean endless chit-chatting whilst we pig at all Taco Bell has to offer. Therefore, a long lasting lippy is essential. Rimmel's Provocalips in Make A Move* would be my pick.

Most natural shade of the whole range and the formula is unbudgeable!

LUSCIOUS LASHES
Ah, my Asian-lashes may be non-existent but it's fixable. Best bet for the longest and most fluttery lashes [to get eyes-to-eyes so your eyes won't linger elsewhere] is with Australis Lash Length Extensions Mascara -- a fibre mascara that'll build and build and build and build.

With its tubing formula, it can be easily pinched off with water, SO DON'T YOU DARE MAKE ME CRY@!@#@!#!

FRESCA, MAS NATURAL
After pigging, we'd head back for a few [hundred] games of COD up til evening, or perhaps you'll take me out to watch the V'tines movie that all couples are watching, 50 Shades Of Grey..? Either way, Rimmel's Wake Me Up is one that'll last the few hundred games of COD. Looks natural, fresh, dewy and most of all, will last.

GETTIN' CHEEKY
Of course, some blusher for me to use as excuse when embarrassing moments arise, such as, not being able to relate to and understand them American jokes (we both know this happens way too often). Or when I have no idea what you're talking about, because your vocab is always in Shakespeare-mode. I just can't understand that much, OK!!?!!

Ben Nye Blusher in Fresh Coral would be a cute one to pair with this lippy! It's barely visible in the photo.. (⊙﹏⊙✿)

GOTTA NAIL IT
This one's not really for you, it's for me. Some nail candy!! @$@#$#@$@#$

And that's how I imagine our first date to be! ( ˘ ³˘)❤

TO MY READERS:

Happy Valentines/Single Awareness Day everyone!

Basically a FOTD/NOTD post (and a peek into my love life, lol, not really), but my cheeky friend suggested that I should just confess my love to him over a post... So that was it!

I'm still single (and dateless) at the end of the day...

Hope you like the post though..... not so much with the cheesiness, but perhaps the FOTD!?

FOTD: Color me in Coral!

So I've always been a fan of pinks, whether it be lips or cheeks.. It just seemed like it made more sense because 'pink' was just the go-to colour for everyone around me! But lately, I've been hitting up my old favourite lipstick by Sportsgirl called 'Fruit Tingle' (I have swatches and brief reviews of other shades from their line here, if you're interested).

Fruit Tingle is much of a bright and light coral with a slight spice of neon and as I've been reaching for it more.. I've also switched around to coral blushes to match up with the lips (would look silly with coral lips and pink cheeks). Yup. I like everything to match.

So I wore this face out yesterday to Illamasqua's Launch Preview of their upcoming collection called "I'mPerfection" at Myers.. thought I'd snap up a few photos to share with you guys :D

Yup. I'm still into the dewy look! For my base, I've used:
  • Gorgeous Cosmetics Base Perfect Liquid Foundation -- I have a sample sized and this foundation is UNBELIEVABLY matte. Too matte for me, but perfect shade match. I mixed it with..
  • Face Of Australia Liquid Illuminator* -- This saved the foundation and brought some life back into my face!
  • Smashbox Artificial Light Luminising Lotion -- Used this as a highlighter on my nose bridge, cheekbones and brow bones because FOA's isn't intense enough.
  • Australis Ready Set Go Finishing Powder -- Just reached for any really, but this is a good, finely milled powder to even out your skintone and not to mention that it photographs so well!
  • Ben Nye Powder Blush in 'Fresh Coral' -- I picked this up at IMATS for $10. Must buy moreeeee. It's super pigmented!
You know that I don't really wear eyeshadows, but I really love to play with eyeliners! For the eyes:
  • Face Of Australia Liquid Eyeliner* -- My go to eyeliner! Review here.
  • Australis 10HR Wear Eyeliner -- A lovely bronze eyeliner that I love to use on my lower lash lines! Doesn't last too long though, so I used...
  • Australis Eyeshadow Primer -- It works!
  • Australis Lash Length Extensions Mascara* -- My favourite mascara! It's a fibre mascara which lengthens and separates for a natural look, but is such a hassle to remove.. Meep.
And I've already mentioned what I used for my lips earlier!

I really like coral lips.. I think I might not return to pink lips for a looooooong while. Maybe!

What colour cheeks and lips do YOU usually sport?
Pretty pinks, corals, reds or maybe berries and purples even?!

I've actually never tried berry or purple colours for my cheeks and lips. Maybe I'll give it a go when fall/winter hits!

Sydney IMATS 2012 Haul & Experiences

As you are probably aware of, the previous weekend has probably been the liveliest beauty weekend of the year!

IMATS, the annual International Make-Up Trade Show and Beauty Bloggers Utopia, a beauty bloggers conference were held in Sydney. You can probably tell with the frequently updates on the Twitter-sphere and Instagram!

Unfortunately, I didn't score a spot of the two from the Wildcard Challenge to join the fun at BBU, but I did attend IMATS 2012 where I met many beauty bloggers and Youtubers! It was so fun and exciting!

I finally met LingNorlin and Tine. Such cutie patooties! They really did brighten up my day!

And after a year, I've re-met (lol... re-met..) and caught up with Megan and Celeste (Sharleen.. lol!). Very sweet and lovely people to speak to!! :)

I also met and caught a glimpse of a few Youtubers! Some I said 'hi' to, but some I was too shy to...!

Anyways, on to my IMATS haul! I actually didn't purchase much! I spent $73 only. Yes, I'm on a budget and I've came to realise how much make-up I have vs. how much make-up I actually use!

(Ben Nye wheel, y u so pretty?!)

  • Inglot Matte Top Coat ($11.00) -- I've always been on the hunt of a good matte top coat! I saw some matte nail colour swatches at the Inglot stall and it looked great so to my collection, it goes!
  • Inglot Flakie #202 ($11.00) -- I've been DYING for a flakie nail polish! I've seen so many swatches online of #202 that looked amazing! Glad I got this!
  • OCC Lip Tars in Memento & Cha Cha ($15.00 each) -- Cleared off my wishlist! I really wanted Trollop, but they ran out of the shade so I picked Memento instead.. It's still a very nice colour for everyday wear, and Cha Cha would be perfect to mix with any shades for a splash of coral! Gorgeous!
  • Ben Nye Creme Rouge Wheel ($20.00) -- Cleared off my wishlist too! I've swatched this blusher wheel at the Ben Nye stall and the consistency was so smooth and silky with a more-than decent pigmentation, so it's totally worth it!
  • Royal & Langnickel Palette Knives ($1.00) -- Not pictured. So cheap! Just thought I might need them one day! :P

IMATS this year was okay. This year, there was no Illamasqua (because they cannot reduce their prices any further after supporting a Fair Beauty Price for Australia) in which I really looked forward to and I didn't see NYX Cosmetics at all (where were they?!).

But on the brighter side, Inglot's service was so quick and their stall was beautifully set up! Kudos to Inglot! Ben Nye's showcase stall was also nice! Ben Nye's assistants were great in offering us demonstrations for their glitter products (which were pretty amazing!).

Royal & Langnickel were also very generous to treat press/media visitors to manicures and massages upstairs! Thank you so much Royal & Langnickel!

Overall, it was a very long day for me, but at the same time, it was so fun and exciting to meet and catch up with so many beauty bloggers and Youtubers... in a hall full of make-up stalls! Now.. another year until IMATS again.... *frowns*

Can't wait to see everyone's IMATS haul!!!!!!!!!! (Can you tell how excited I am for the so many exclamation marks?)
