Priceline 40% OFF: Hits & Tips

Sale alert! Sale alert!

Priceline is hitting back with their 40% sale on their cosmetics this Wednesday and Thursday!

I've been into make-up for yonks now, so this sale is nothing new. I probably will skip this sale, but hey! That doesn't stop me from posting about my hits and misses, so take note!

HITS

AUSTRALIS Ready Set Go Finishing Powder ($13.95)
Forever my favourite translucent powder. I've mentioned it over and over again, but it's the best powder to set your make-up. Merges all layers of make-up into one, and makes everything feels like skin! Just don't go heavy-handed on this, coz the flash-back is real.

❷ FACE OF AUSTRALIA Translucent Loose Powder ($11.95)
Amazing, amazing powder to bake with. Cheap and efficient. No flashbacks guaranteed.

❸ MAYBELLINE Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara ($21.95)
I've only just started using this mascara, but happy to report that there are no disappointments so far! Separates nicely, holds curls and decently lengthens! Not to mention, that it seems pretty waterproof to me. A customer at the cafe made me tear up (what a meanie!) and I wiped my eyes forgetting that I had mascara on.... NO smudges! Yay!!!

❹ FACE OF AUSTRALIA Glamazon Contour Kit ($9.95)
This is a must-have! The bronzer is just right, and the highlighter is so soft, buttery and the finish is bomb. Trust!

❺ RIMMEL LONDON Magnifi'Eyes Double Ended Shadow & Liner ($16.95)
I suck at applying eyeshadows so this is my go-to base. Works as a cream base, or lasts well as an eyeshadow itself. I find that this particular duo in Rose Gold & Brown works really well for me! The 'rose gold' works as a warming base, and the cool-toned brown, when used alone, brings out my eye-colour well. I'd never use it as a 'liner' though cause it's definitely not made for precision.

❻ TOUCH IN SOL Flawless Skin Top Coat ($30-$40)
Low-key Korean brand at Priceline. This foundation is a tad more exxy than my usual go-to's, but the coverage and lasting power is really decent!

❼ MODELS PREFER Infinite Colour Lipstick ($11.99)
If you can still find these, GET EM'! I can't rave about these enough. These are so bomb. Better than what mainstream brands (ahem, Rimmel, Maybelline, L'Oreal, etc) could come up with. The range is matte, and the lasts so much longer than most lippies made available at Priceline. So much more affordable as well!

❽ MAX FACTOR Miracle Touch Liquid Illusion Foundation ($36.95)
Use this with a damp beauty blender and I promise you... you cannot find medium-full coverage that looks anymore natural than this. I promise!

❾ RIMMEL LONDON Wake Me Up Foundation ($19.95)
Another really decent foundation. Decent lasting power, medium coverage and extremely natural finish!

TIPS

Most make-up brands include accessories and tools in their range, so these are included in the sale as well. Therefore, don't forget to snag:
  • Sharpeners -- Maybelline, Australis, Face Of Australia
  • Make-up removers -- Maybelline, Australis, Face Of Australia
  • Nail Polish removers -- Maybelline, Australis, Face Of Australia
  • Nail Lacquers -- essie, Sally Hansen, OPI
  • Lip Balms -- Maybelline

I wanted to post about products that I'd suggest you to skip as well... but.... no time! Forgive me senorita.

Hope y'all have a blast shopping the 40% sale tomorrow!

TOP 15 OF 2015

WAY overdued post, I know!

Last year was a very.. quiet year for me. Kinda settled down to my usual routine, along with my usual fave products. Didn't really experiment with too many new products, and at one point, I remember even refusing to wear makeup so often!

My skin hasn't improved much, but there are so many days where I just felt really uncomfortable wearing makeup. It's mostly because of not being bothered to deal with the grimy/oily feeling throughout the day, I'm pretty sure!

Nevertheless, there are still days when I'd like to doll up a bit, so I haven't completely abandoned my stash! Hehe.. And even if I don't wear foundation, most of the time, my brows would be intact and highlighter would be lightly applied to show I'm as fresher than a motherrrrrrr.

ANYHOWS!

Here are my top 15 picks for 2015!

AUSTRALIS Lash Length Extensions Mascara
Beginning of 2015, I was ridiculously obsessed with this mascara! You have NO idea! This was my holy grail. Gave me lashes that made touching my brow bone possible. Washed off effortlessly [in tubes] in warm water without leaving smudges. Ohh, such a fave!

The fact that you could see my lashes in photos... yup.

BAD NEWS: They discontinued it... Boooooooo! Out of all mascaras of their collection of 395964028 mascaras, they discontinued this one. RIP.

THE BALM Mary-Loumanizer Highlighter
Can't remember how long I've had this for, but since I had it, it's been a more-than-regular reach. On days when I don't wear foundation, I'd still use this.

What I love about it, is its finish. It's not at all shimmery, the finish is luminous. Very luminous, so depending on whether applied with a light or heavy hand, it can give off a natural glow without looking like a bloody disco ball. Texture is extremely fine. Worth every single penny.

RIMMEL LONDON Wake Me Up Foundation
This foundation is one I've used all year round -- summer or winter. Great, affordable foundation. Lasts throughout the day and I love the natural finish!

MARC JACOBS Dream Daisy
I've used this almost everyday that I go out, since May 2015. It's the scent, and the packaging -- simple as that.

TOO FACED Better Than Sex Mascara
My HG Lash Length Extensions Mascara discontinued sometime mid-year, so since then, I haven't touched many mascaras. Until a few days before the New Years, my sister brought home this baby after a co-worker recommended it, and lemme just get this straight...

It is @$&$@)&!? a-m-a-z-I-n-g!

I layered on two coats, with only one eye done, turned around to her and said "OMG, this mascara is... better than sex!" lol, jk. I just told her, "It's freaking amazing."

However, in saying so, still gotta give it trialling time. Hoping to feature it soon~

MAC Soft & Gentle Highlighter
Discovered this sometime in November, because that was when I purchased it. Grabbed it from someone who was reselling at the markets, and as much as I love my Mary-Loumanizer, I can't help to say that I've leaned towards Soft & Gentle towards the end of 2015.

The colour just seemed to suit me a tad more, but I still love you heaps Mary-Loumanizer! Just in honeymoon stage with Soft & Gentle rn, soz.

ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS Brow Wiz
I've purchased this same time with my ABH Brow Dip Pomade, but I enjoy using this so much more. My stash don't carry too many brow products, so this easily tops all others without much thought. It glides on nicely, sits and stays nicely, and the colour matches.

Just hoping that there's a similar dupe around, something cheaper with easier access to. This thing is tiny, lol, and so probably ends up lasting me only a month of continuous use.

FACE OF AUSTRALIA Glamazon Contour & Highlighter Kit*
Been using this since last year. It's a really handy and affordable kit. My go-to shade for bronzing. The highlighter wished it was as well-loved (lol), but I've got my other fave highlighters, soz.

AUSTRALIS Ready Set Go Finishing Powder
Can't remember how long it's been since I've used this. Probably since 2012. My love for this is still going strong, and don't think I'll be changing anytime soon. I use it as a top off for everything, even if I'm already wearing a powder foundation. It just makes everything feel like skin, smooth and supple.

I can't stand the sticky-icky or creamy feeling of foundation so this is definitely a need for me!

AUSTRALIS Fresh & Flawless Powder
Apparently, this makes a great dupe for MAC's Studio Fix Powder. Can't comment on that though since I've never tried Studio Fix. However, this is a great powder for coverage. Easy to build up to medium coverage, and I'm sure full coverage is not impossible!

(hit-pan'd! yeyey!)

On days when I'm lazy for liquid, I'd be wearing this. The shade range sucks though. It's very limited, but hopefully Australis will be working on expanding it soon to cater to more skintones!

CHI CHI Viva La Diva Lipsticks
Ohhhhhhh, I've owned these for yonks now! And only started using them when my sister popped it's from its packaging. I hoard products, but the have a slight stingy fear for using them. Or they just sit around and wait until I photograph it, only to realise that their time will never come cause I'm real lazy (lol).

(L-R) Game On, Social Climber

These lippies are creamy and are long lasting. Their lasting power shocked me quite a bit when I wore these for the very first time.

MAYBELIINE Sequin Nail Polish in Sea-Quins
My favourite manicure of 2015, hands down (or fingers down, in this case) is this manicure:

Original post here >

It's not so much what lays as the base colour, but it's what sits on top that gives it such a pow! Maybelline Sea-Quins from their Sequins collection is what I've used, and I regret not buying other shades from the Sequins range!

FORMULA 10.0.6 Overnight Spot Minimizing Patches
Products that make it to my top fave list are products that I'd always turn to, whether it be for a while, or for short term. However, this is a product I hope to stay away from, lol. Just because they're pimple healing patches, and whenever these patches are around, means I'm breaking out, again.

I'll stick these on for days whenever I breakout. They stay on to reduce redness, and somehow, always shoo away the pus. Other products from this brand don't work for my skin, but these help a tonne with my pimples!

MODELS PREFER Infinite Lasting Lipsticks
I loved these so much in 2015. They were my go-to lipticks for a long while, until I forgot about them. Loved them so much that I collected almost the whole colour range! ^_^

What I love most about these, is its long-lasting power. They're completely matte, lasts long and are extremely affordable! "Hidden gems of Priceline", I call these.

CHARLOTTE TILBURY Lipsticks
These lippies were also thrifted from the markets, for $15 each. They are from the Matte Revolution range. Formula is creamy, lasting and non-drying (yay!). They make really great more-than-decent lipsticks with beautiful packaging! Smells yummy too!

Those are my top 15 favourites! Before I go, here's a swatch battle for the three highlighters featured (including one from the FOA duo):

(L-R) The Balm Mary-Loumanizer, MAC Soft & Gentle, Face Of Australia Glamazon Kit*

That's allllll!

It was so hard to gather 15 products at first, but as I started writing, I ended up with more than 15, lol. Then it became hard to take products off the list!

Hoping to do swatches of the lippies mentioned soon.

What were your top favourites of 2015?

If you've blogged about them. link me! If you don't blog, then leave me your first in the comments, or, just start blogging! Haha (@´_`@)

LATEST LIP LOVE: Dark Lippies!

So Sydney has finally transitioned into actual-Winter weather, in the past week. Besides the gloomy skies, the temperature has been close to, 10°C? Urgh sucks.

The temp of recent, pretty much reflects my lippy mood. I've always been into the pinks and corals, but recently, I've decided to switch up to the..... DARKS!

REVLON Colourburst Lipstick in Grape
My first pick for a dark bold lip was with Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Grape. It's the darkest lipstick I own for the moment (might change soon since I've been eye-ing some MAC shades). I've worn it once, but I feel like the formula sucks. It's creamy and moisturising, but applies blotchy and can slide around on the lips and is prone to bleeding. Not somethin' I like in a dark lippy, especially when I don't own any dark lip liners. Urgh.

AUSTRALIS Go Long Longwear Lipstick in Glam*
I still really wanted to try out the dark lips though, so I rummaged through my stash! Nop. Didn't find any! Rummaged through my sister's stash... FOUND ONE!

I've found one guys, I've found oneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

And it's actually mine. She kidnapped it away from me for yonks. I've swatched it here, but since I was never really into dark lippies, my sister decided to adopt it to her stash, I guess.

It may not look extremely dark in the tube, but because my skintone is somewhat fair, so it looks much more intense on my skintone! My friend told me, "I like your purple lip on Saturday night" when I was wearing this, lol. wat?

Haven't used these lippies in yonks. Love their formula! They can be slightly drying, but it doesn't bother me at all~ I love how it stays, how it's matte, how it doesn't smear and bleed... LOVE!

I think it's time for me to kidnap this lippy back to my stash. Sorry sis!

MODELS PREFER Lipstick in Stay Out Late
I've only found this in my stash recently. Bought it as one of the packs they had... Can't remember how many decades ago.. lol. I've only worn it twice, and so far, all I could tell you is... it has a creamy formula and does kinda slips around upon first application so definitely needs to be blotted down. However, it doesn't apply to be as slippery and uneven as Revlon's Grape, thank god.

Still need to experiment around with this, so till then!

AND those are the three dark lippies I've found and have been trying to experiment with, to be all seasonal-trendy and shit, you know? :P

Any dark lippy lovers who could recommend me any affordable dark lippies?

I've been eye-ing Rebel and Diva from MAC, but not sure if I would really keep with this dark lippy trend long enough for it to be worth the investment. Eep.

10 [Beauty] Stocking Stuffers UNDER $3!

I've just finished my friends' Christmas gifts a few days ago, and it took me yonks to figure out what to fill the jars with.

Here are a few snaps of what they look like...

Some of the products are from the Models Prefer Lip Pack that I've mentioned in my previous Priceline 40% haul. I've also slipped in the wrong pencil case in this jar.. (*/∇\*)

One of the other jars...

JARS: I've purchased these for $3 each, you can find them at your local Hot Dollar stores, Reject Shops, and other dollar stores [I believe]..

SNOW: Yes! Fake snow! I thrifted them for $1 at the markets, but I think you should be able to find them at your local craft stores, OR you can just simply replace it with cotton balls!

NAMES: Purchase letter-stickers at your local dollar store, and stick em on! Eaasy!

PRODUCTS: Some I have thrifted at the markets (brand new though), some I've spotted from deals and saved em from months ago for this (yes, I'm bothered).

At the end of the day, the hardest for me was to figure of what products to include! They had to be awesome, but at the same time pocket-friendly!

I've figured a few, so I thought I'd put out the list for those whom are broke and struggling with the same issue. Heh.. Thank me later! (flicks hair)

Daiso is a great store to shop at for stocking stuffers. They have soooooooooo many different items, and the good thing about the store is that all items are $2.80.

Their Liquid Eyeliner ($2.80) is highly raved about, so check that out. OR their Detergent Cleansing Lotion for Puff & Sponge ($2.80), a favourite by many.

I', sure you've all heard of Ulta3 nail polishes ($2.00), Australia's top-selling [and cheapest] nail polish brand. Locate their stockists via their Facebook. I'm sure you'll be pleased with their shade range!
( ⋂‿⋂’)

Also, don't forget their Moisturising Lipsticks ($2.95)!

Priceline, I think have their very own cosmetics line to go with their BE skincare range. Beauty Essentials (BE) lipsticks are exactly $3. I've purchased one.. Yet to try out their quality, but either way, it makes a great stocking stuffer! They also have other items for $3.00 too!

I've mentioned this before, but I'll mention it again. Models Prefer READ MY LIPS pack ($20.00) is a great value pack if you have many stockings to fill, or great to even distribute between friends as small gifts. Ten lippies for $20 equates to $2 per shade!

essence is a good brand to scout if you're after cheap stocking fillers. Their French Glam Nail Tattoo Stickers ($2.55) and lip liners ($2.00) are right in the $3 zone!

Slip in a sachet of Nivea Aqua Effect Refreshing Moisturising Mask ($2.99) for them skincare junkies.

Or Formula 10.0.6's mask sachets ($1.99)..

Well, that's all!
I hope this helps you get through your Christmas shopping! :P
