A slice of life: On beauty events, the yummies, the funny.

On Justin Timberlake.
OH, I've been starstruck with JT lately, since he hit back with his new album, reminding me much of the old, but gold RNBs. None of the modern poppy and meaningless shit ya know?

Please bring back the bald cut Justin, you hottie!

On beauty events: Glam By Manicare
A few weeks ago, I attended a Masterclass by Glam By Manicare. I've always wondered about false lash styles is the correct one to wear for whichever eye types. The evening was informative, interesting and FUN! Loved every single second of it!

On the yummies.
MY FAVOURITE SECTION PART OF THESE PERSONAL POSTS!! ^_^ I've been munching alot lately -- from restaurants to fast food.. Eeep! Let me take you through my food adventure!

Fatman Catering: Corndogs and Cheesy Chips

Vinh Phat: Har Gow, Dim Sums, Fried Squids, Steamed Wet Cakes, Chicken Feet Salad (?)

Vinh Phat: Chicken Feet (LOL hope this doesn't freak anyone out), Deep fried seafood (not sure what) with mayo!

Mt Pritchard Bistro: Fish & Chips and Mongolian Beef.

Canley Height's Bistro T-bone and McDonald's Bacon & Egg McMuffin

They actually managed to burn the bread pieces of my Bacon & Egg McMuffin, but it actually tasted pretty damn delicious compared to the usual. Will order a burnt Bacon & Egg McMuffin from them next time.

LOL jk.

On a similar note, I dissected my first durian and may I say.. It was the most amazing durian EVER!! :P Yes, I know sometimes it stinks, but I loveee it!

On a smelly durian note.
My mother (aka Mummy Pig) actually works as a gym cleaner and she comes home telling me some of the most hilarious stories. Basically, one of the Asian ladies actually brought durian with her to gym to munch whilst she works out. If you've smelt durian before.. you'll know it stinks like hell for some so soon after that Asian lady entered the gym, they've immediately evacuated everyone from the building and called in all these professionals to check for gas leaks. LOL!! Yes! Turned out it was the smell of durian. HAHAHAH.

On new products to play with.

New products to play with! I can't wait to trial the new Arbonne Cosmetics sent to trial and L'Oreal BB Blush from Priceline's Blogger Pack!

And yes, those BYS lipsticks are colour-changing lipsticks! :P Sounds great, but I've test swatched and it honestly doesn't seem to be that great. The product itself look so pretty though! Looks almost like a jelly lipstick.

As for the Australis Pout Pastes, I already have swatches of those here if you're a keen bean!

On harmless selfies.

Above is the thumbnail for a video I filmed for my Youtube LOL! I always get the worst thumbnails, seriously....

But here's me looking pretty perfect:

Yes, behind is my sister :P

Then here's me looking like I could be cover of an Asian action movie..

Then here's me attempting Alice's signature pose...

Then here's me trialling Australis Pout Paste in Kiss Me Pink...

On the FUNNY.
I've quitted Facebook yonks ago, but I've been lurking back recently for the lol's. Here's one for you...

LOL @ Anna's question.

Take the time out to imagine. Would you prefer changing sex every sneeze or possibly taking a bite out of a baby thinking it was a muffin? LOL!

A slice of life -- On first week of uni, free condoms, yummy food.

On first week of uni.
I'm seriously the most clueless person on campus right now. I have no idea how things work and where all these study blocks are.. Grr. I study three days a week so in a nutshell, here's how I went for the three days for the first week:
  • Day 1: Attended uni for a one hour lecture. Went home. Yay!
  • Day 2: Met some very cute, fun and bubbly friends. However! I sat in the wrong tutorial for 15 minutes. The teacher actually told us the tutorial's subject, but I just assumed she was at mistake. Felt suss about it. Checked my timetable. Wrong room. Spent 5 minutes trying to figure how I'd leave the room without embarrassing myself. Left successfully! Oh god, let's hope that'll never happen again. FML.
  • Day 3: Sister and I attended lecture. Sat down. Turned on phone. Played Candy Crush Saga. Passed the stage I was stuck on (yay!). Sister mumbled something to me about "lecture". Didn't care and just told her "Ya he's coming soon. It's ok". She sat there quietly. Lecturer came in. I looked up and the slideshow said "Accounting". Woops. Wrong lecture! Left as quietly as we could. As we were exiting, he said "Just letting you know.. You DON'T have to be here". FML.

On free condoms.
So they were giving out freebies around campus. Of course, being the Asian I am, I went around campus grabbing whatever I can from snacks to poster planners. I've also approached this guy asking for whatever he's holding and he handed it over, he gave me a surprised face. Didn't care to check what it is, chucked it in my bag... Turns out to be a condom. Oh.. BRB. Let me just dig my head into a hole and die.
Oh, kudos to Angela forthe giggles by asking for a review on this LOL.

On #FakeUpAus.
Even though I blog quite often, I only attend to events once in a blue moon. My last event which wasn't too long ago was at Benefit's store on Oxford St, Sydney. Let me just say.. it was the BEST beauty event! I really loved that instead of having the *usual* small speeches, they've actually organised a creative, funny skitz show!
It was truly a wonderful event with some of the most friendliest staff and the yummiest food!

On the yummies.
I've been munching. Alot. Again. My belly is getting bigger and bigger as days go! I really need to do something about this... when I feel less lazy. Meep. Warning: Following photos may make you hungry.

Crispy Chicken with Tomato Rice, Something with Eel, Something with Pork/Chicken (Seoulria)

Five-spice caramel pork and wintermelon soup for dinz!

Laos Papaya Salad (yum!), BBQ Ox Tongue (super yum!), Crunchy Fried Rice (quite crunchy!)

On the meeps.
Things have not been going good at home! I've been having arguments with sister and one of the loveliest person I've met just told me she's moving overseas................. CRY. Just wanted to show you a photo of my double eyelids after crying.

Yeap. After cries, my eyes just puffs up. Oh. And my face too!

I'd love to have natural double eyelids though.... without the crying.

On the giggles.
Fail guru. LOL. Jk,. It's pretty funny though!

In the perfect world:

LOL. Ok. That's all for today's slice of life guys! I hope this week will be a GREAT week for you all!

A slice of life -- A big duck, yummy things and the not so yummy.

For the past month, life has been treating me SO good! Let me tell ya about it.

On a big duck.
Went with Alice to eat in the city some time ago and we went to see the big duck at Darling Harbour! I think it's there for a festival?

On Instagram photos, it looks quite small.. but holy golly! When we got there and saw it... "OMG. It's sooo big!". We didn't think it was going to be THAT big.

On an upgrade.
After several months of saving for a new DSLR camera.. I finally managed to save up enough and got myself a Canon EOS 650D! My Canon SX30IS served me real well! I'm still going to be using it to record videos, but yay for new and improved photo quality!

I ordered this from Kogan and they took 3-4 days to ship it out (meh) and from there, it took 3-4 days to get to my front door. Loved their free shipping and tracking service!

On happy news.
I'm happy to announce that... I am PREGNANT! Yeap. You read right........ just kidding. My blog turned 3 not too long ago, and I'm celebrating that with an international giveaway! Later that night, main round offers for universities also came out and I landed myself a spot in a Primary Teaching course! WOO! Yay for no more TAFE! Yay for university!!

On yummy food.
I've been addicted to sushi again. I have been craving fresh salmon sushi rolls way too often! I've pretty much have been pigging out at any sushi bars I cross!

Left: Salmon box and BBQ Eel (which tastes okay).

Right: Tuna rolls, topped with melted cheese and some sauce (not sure what sauce) and another salmon box!

On the not so yummy. Like.. Tampons.
Our viral video of the week consist of a young girl sucking on her bloody tampon (oh, punny!). I haven't watched the video yet although I'm contemplating to.. only because I wonder if I can handle watching stuff that's THAT gross. Have you watched it?!

It made perfect sense that when she held up her used tampon, she said, "If anyone says this is fake, there's obviously something wrong with you!".... Well. Of course there's something wrong with us.......

I also follow her on Twitter for the lols. Here's some funny tweets by her:

Not sure if she's trolling or if she's facking serious. She sure does enjoy the attention (or hate) everyone is giving her though! Oh.. she also has online "fan" pages and Twitter accounts.. What is this world coming to?

On friends.
Finally got to meet up with my lovely highschool girl friends last weekend! It's been a loooooooong time! We went to eat Ippudo in the city, Japanese food, and it was delicious! I'm going back soon, for sure and I'll make sure to snap up a few photos to share with you guys! :P

That photo is of a dish called shizhibsdodsgis. Na. I don't know. No idea what it's called, but it's eel with rice and it was the yummiest!

On life-changing decisions.
I have way too many nail polishes! I'm on a roll to blog about them as soon as I could and then give them or sell them away! I'm honestly sick of having too much stuff in my collection that I know I'd never finish!

Afterall, how many red nail polishes do I really need for my 20 phalanges?

Oh~ Speaking of nails, I've swatched Australis' New Glitter Top Coats and OPI Mariah Carey Liquid Sand if you're interested!

That is all! Off to enjoy a cup of hot chocolate and my lasagne in this rainy Sydney weather! Hope everyone who's situated in Aussie is enjoying their long weekend!

Stay safe! xx

A slice of life -- On Sydney's heat, #cuttingforBeiber

Hi guys! I'm totally not feeling it today. I know I've got so many posts to catch up on, but seriously.. I'm dreading here..

On Sydney's heat.
A few days ago (I think it may be Monday), Sydney has hit the hottest it's been in yonks. I'm actually real good at withstanding the heat, but that day hit a whopping 43 degrees! Unbelievabubble mate, but thank God for: the invention of air conditioners and thank God I don't have stingy parents who wouldn't allow air conditioners. LOL.

Also, I've decided to store all my make-up in the fridge, because apparently.. it's going to be even hotter this Saturday!

On #cuttingforBeiber.
I've read somewhere that this was a prank started by members of 4Chan. Apparently they've gathered a few images of wrist cuts, added captions to it and then tweeted it around. Seriously, those members have too much spare time on their hands. I hope no one really self-harmed for Beiber... cause I can't imagine what they would do if he did worse than smokin' a joint.

On the tackiest.

Ugh. Yux.

On blogging mojo.
I've lost my blogging motivation! I'm trying SO so hard to get back into it! I'm still a big beauty lover, but I've just been lazy... I just really want a new camera AND I really need to get to fixing my photography area! The lamp is broken! Needs to be replaced! Goddddd.

On new haircut.
So I've decided that I will be growing out my natural hair again to hopefully make it in time to donate this September! First step to doing so is to cut my hair.. I've decided to ask my Mum to help me. I got a straight-across trim so my hair will grow faster as it was already pretty long with plenty of split ends!

Grr... just the thought of having to wait for the dyed part of my hair to grow out is killin' me. It will look ugly as hell!
