Bullet Proof Nails with Mirenesse

Hi. I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend because it's time to get your suit back on for work. Boo ya! Hah!

Lucky for me.. no classes on Monday, so here I am.. sippin' on my cuppa tea whilst playing with pretty Bullet Proof Nail Lacquers by Mirenesse!

I've received 3 shades to play with... Charleston Me, Flapper Pash and Berry Boa.

Of course, the very first shade I've picked to trial was Charleston Me. As you can see, it is amazingly sparkly so it stood out to me as the most exciting colour of the three!

Charleston Me is such a pretty, amazing, gorgeous, beautiful, <insert other lovely words> shade! It has a metallic purple base, full packed of silver shimmers.. too pretty for words :')

I'm super impressed with the formula as it still remained so sparkly after 4-5 days wear as foily nail polishes like this usually fades down after a day. Truly my favourite out of the bunch!

Flapper Pash, I actually thought was just your typical pink shade from what it looks like in the bottle, but it applied much brighter, maybe a teeny tad neon, but not quite. I was pretty surprised as to how bright it looked in comparison to what it looked like in the bottle!

Although I probably have 15-20 shades of pink in my nail polish collection, I can't find one to compare to Flapper Pash -- poppy, but cute!

Berry Boa also applied brighter and lighter than what it looks like in the bottle. In the bottle, it looks much like a dark vampy red shade, but I do like the colour better when it's applied! Very much like a vintage red... so classy and beautiful!

Overall, Mirenesse has done a great job with these nail polishes! Talk about perfect consistency, smooth application, great pigmentation with hi-shine finishes.. I really have no complaints!

However, for my budget, $29.95 a pop is rather pricey, but if you can afford em.... go wild!

Have you tried Mirenesse Bulletproof Nail Lacquers?
Which is/are your favourite shade(s)?

Mirenesse Bulletproof Nail Lacquers are $29.95 each, available at their official website. Ships within Australia only.

Colour Me In: 3 Black Mascaras on my Miss List!

'Colour Me In' is a series of posts in collaboration with Alice of ArsyParsy, Tezza of Myteeefine and Amanda of Thai-Tales!

*****

Another Thursday, another 'Colour Me In' collaboration post!

A few more Thursdays to go and we will be rounding up this collaboration series of 'Colour Me In'! Of course, that doesn't mean that's all for us four.. we'll still be blogger budz and you'll definitely see me feature their links on my blog! :P

This week's colour is 'black' and if you know me, you would know I'm boring as hell so it's really no surprise that I'd be featuring eyeliners or mascaras! :P

But to switch things up from the usual 'what's on my hit list', let's skim through and see what's on my mascara-miss list!

Covergirl Lash Blast -- this one, is nice, but I do think it's a bit over-rated. It gives nice volume, some length, separates well, but makes your eyelashes stiff as hell in return! Although I don't really care for stiff lashes, I've found the same results in other mascaras without the stiffness, so... ya. I do like that this mascara is easy to access and the colour is very black, but I personally don't think it's anything amazing for my Asian lashes, so farewell Lash Blast!

Top: Lash Blast, bottom: Lash Blast Length

Covergirl Lash Blast Length -- is quite disappointing. The wand is awkwardly long, but the bristles do remind me of my once-upon-a-time favourite Rimmel London Glam Eyes Mascara. It separates really well, but perhaps too well that all my lashes look like they are 10 miles apart from each other. LMAO. (Yeap, call me the Queen of Over-exaggeration).

Jokes!! But it does do its job at separating, except that it doesn't really separate evenly. Adding to that, I just can't seem to get an 'even' lengthening application with the wand, so altogether it makes me look like I have unevenly seperated, wonky lashes. Meep.

Maybelline Colossal Volum Express -- I've heard alot of beauties raved about this mascara so I was excited when my sister received this as a gift! However, its wet formula doesn't work on my Asian lashes at all.. It's way too heavy for my lashes, weighing it down (which is the last thing I want for my lashes) and clumping it together. I think most beauties who adores this mascara, are already blessed with naturally long eyelashes, so it's a totally different take for my Asian eyelashes.

Of course, these are just brief overviews! I do hope to review them in the upcoming future, but your turn to share now...

Which mascaras just doesn't work for you?

Whether it be low-end or high-end, let us know!

For this week's line up of posts, Alice will let you know how well Revlon's ColorStay Liquid Eyeliner performs, whilst Tezza will be sharing thoughts on 4 different eyeliners... As for Amanda, there's a Benefit Lash Battle happening at her page for Benefit fans!

Parissa Home Wax for this Summer -- Giveaway!

Giveaway only open to Australian residents.

So I know that it's only mid-Spring here in Australia, but I'm so pumped for Summer already! With only a little less than two months to get ready for Summer... I have everything planned out!

On my list to buy/do:
  • Pretty and cute triangle bikinis
  • Cute hats!
  • Sunnies
  • Exercise and tone body
  • Plan out beach days with family and friends!

As you see, I'm pretty damn planned (ok not really LOL)! But THEN I realised there's something I've never thought about until a representative PR from Parissa contacted me to host a giveaway for you (my lovely readers!)...

Um.. hair removal for body hair.....

Yikes! So glad that I was contacted by the lovely Laura... Else you'll be seeing me this Summer in a cute bikini at the beach with hairy legs (and bits lol!).. I kidz.

So lovely Laura sent over to me a pack by Parissa to try after a mini-consultation! I've received Parissa's Chamomile Body Sugar (for legs, body and face) which is suitable for my fine-light hair and my awesome nooby beginner waxing skills.

The Body Sugar came with the body sugar, Azulene Oil, alot of strips, a few wooden spatulas and a very detailed pamphlet about the product! I felt quite overwhelmed opening the box as I felt like it came with a whole salon (with so many strips, spatulas, etc)..

Of course, I started with my sister's moustache! ^_^

The Body Sugar works pretty well although you definitely need to give it a few go's to make sure that you've removed all hairs. It's also very gentle on the skin and is washable which is very suitable for noobies like myself!

GIVEAWAY TIME!! :)

Parissa is being very generous with today's prize giveaway prize packs.. They are offering 3 prize packs for my readers, so there will be 3 winners! Yay!

Over a mini-consultation via email, winners will receive a Hot Wax pack with Azuene Oil suited to their hair types and waxing experiences!

Saturday/Sunday Steals #24 -- 11 Nail Polishes for.... $15? Only possible at f lea markets!

Heya! I haven't posted about these market hauls in a month! But don't you worry! I did not stop hoarding from the markets, I just didn't want to throw so many haul posts at you each week! :(

I've been hoarding every single Sunday! I come home with at least one or two nail polishes each week! :(

Four weeks ago, there was this lovely gentleman at the markets selling Avon nail polishes for $2 each! So cheap, so I picked up a few and Mum bought a few which came to 5 bottles!

We purchased a few nail colours from their different ranges including Kiss Me, Strawberry, Midnight Plum from their Nailwear Pro range and Black as Night from their Matte range.

There's also another bottle which was a treatment polish, I think it may've been for strengthening the nails, but I've totally forgot what it's called!

The week after (three weeks ago), I've also purchased MORE nail polishes... -_-"

I met this girl who's my friend's sister, selling at the markets! :P Cute!

I've picked up five polishes as they were only $1 each, too cheap to pass it up! But besides it being so cheap, I also picked them up because:

  • Rimmel London Lycra in Hot Rock -- thought it was a nice twist from the usual red, with lovely shimmers!
  • Rubi Polish in I Like Pina Coladas -- the bottle looked really cute and I thought you guys would be really interested to see how Rubi nail polishes perform!
  • Rubi Polish in Under the Seaport -- I actually don't have a shade like this in my collection! Would look great with a matte top coat too!
  • BYS in Pink Manicure and Midnight Metallic -- these two, I purely purchased for review purposes for my blog..

I'm really not using my blog as an excuse to hoard... Swear!
But anyways, in two weeks, I purchased 11 bottles of nail polishes............ with $15!

What do you say? Well spent, or nay?

Well spent.................. right?

Colour Me In: 3 Affordable Australian Bronzers

'Colour Me In' is a series of posts in collaboration with Alice of ArsyParsy, Tezza of Myteeefine and Amanda of Thai-Tales!

*****

We talkin' STRAYA bronzers today!

I just wanted to quickly show you 3 Australian branded products in my collection that I do switch around from time to time, to use as bronzers.

With the upcoming warming Spring and Summer, bronzers are a must-have in your make-up collection to fake that beautiful bronzed and sunkissed look (and cheekbones too for many of us Asians), what do you say?

Australis Paparazzi Perfect HD Blush in Poser

Sure, it's not a bronzing product.. but it certainly can be used for bronzing! :P

Left to right: 1,2,3,4

Poser is blusher product but no way will I ever use such shades as blushers! There's 4 shades of brown in this product and from what I see, there's a shade suited for every's tone complexion -- cool, warm and neutral. I really love the idea of that. All shades are very decent in pigmentation and do have shimmers to them, but it's really barely visible once applied onto the hollow of the cheeks!

Australis Paparazzi Perfect HD Blusher in Flash It

As you can tell.. Flash It is one handy trio for applying blusher, highlighting and bronzing or contouring. However, in comparison with Poser, the browner shade of this trio is more 'orangey' which I really don't dig. It's also contains less shimmers, but I do prefer the warmer-toned brown from Poser. :P

Face Of Australia Mineral Therapy Bronzing Pearls

A real bronzing product!

From its name, you can tell what it is... bronzing pears in a bottle! I've only started using this product recently and I love it! There's a sheen of luminousity to it which I do like as it's perfect for that bronzed/sunkissed look! The product itself is silky and blends very well! However, it does go on to be a bit more pink on me, so it'd be great if they had more shades.

So those are three wonderful and easy-to-access Aussie-branded bronzing products that you definitely can't miss next time you're around at Priceline, Big W or any other Australis & Face Of Australia stockists!

Have you ever tried any of the products mentioned in this post?

Are you a bronzing babe, or nay?

I've only started bronzing recently, and I love it! My favourite from the products mentioned is the Face Of Australia Mineral Therapy Bronzing Pearls! LOVE the luminous finish so much!

This week's chosen colour is 'brown' -- usually not a very appealing colour, but it's different when it comes to make-up I can tell ya! :P

If you're bronzer babe, check out Amanda's post on bronzers too! If you're a circle lenses wearer, perhaps click to Tezza's post of brown circle lenses? And of course, neutral eyeshadows are everyone's favourites, so a must-click is to Alice's everyday barely there eyeshadow routine!

Sydney IMATS 2012 Haul & Experiences

As you are probably aware of, the previous weekend has probably been the liveliest beauty weekend of the year!

IMATS, the annual International Make-Up Trade Show and Beauty Bloggers Utopia, a beauty bloggers conference were held in Sydney. You can probably tell with the frequently updates on the Twitter-sphere and Instagram!

Unfortunately, I didn't score a spot of the two from the Wildcard Challenge to join the fun at BBU, but I did attend IMATS 2012 where I met many beauty bloggers and Youtubers! It was so fun and exciting!

I finally met LingNorlin and Tine. Such cutie patooties! They really did brighten up my day!

And after a year, I've re-met (lol... re-met..) and caught up with Megan and Celeste (Sharleen.. lol!). Very sweet and lovely people to speak to!! :)

I also met and caught a glimpse of a few Youtubers! Some I said 'hi' to, but some I was too shy to...!

Anyways, on to my IMATS haul! I actually didn't purchase much! I spent $73 only. Yes, I'm on a budget and I've came to realise how much make-up I have vs. how much make-up I actually use!

(Ben Nye wheel, y u so pretty?!)

  • Inglot Matte Top Coat ($11.00) -- I've always been on the hunt of a good matte top coat! I saw some matte nail colour swatches at the Inglot stall and it looked great so to my collection, it goes!
  • Inglot Flakie #202 ($11.00) -- I've been DYING for a flakie nail polish! I've seen so many swatches online of #202 that looked amazing! Glad I got this!
  • OCC Lip Tars in Memento & Cha Cha ($15.00 each) -- Cleared off my wishlist! I really wanted Trollop, but they ran out of the shade so I picked Memento instead.. It's still a very nice colour for everyday wear, and Cha Cha would be perfect to mix with any shades for a splash of coral! Gorgeous!
  • Ben Nye Creme Rouge Wheel ($20.00) -- Cleared off my wishlist too! I've swatched this blusher wheel at the Ben Nye stall and the consistency was so smooth and silky with a more-than decent pigmentation, so it's totally worth it!
  • Royal & Langnickel Palette Knives ($1.00) -- Not pictured. So cheap! Just thought I might need them one day! :P

IMATS this year was okay. This year, there was no Illamasqua (because they cannot reduce their prices any further after supporting a Fair Beauty Price for Australia) in which I really looked forward to and I didn't see NYX Cosmetics at all (where were they?!).

But on the brighter side, Inglot's service was so quick and their stall was beautifully set up! Kudos to Inglot! Ben Nye's showcase stall was also nice! Ben Nye's assistants were great in offering us demonstrations for their glitter products (which were pretty amazing!).

Royal & Langnickel were also very generous to treat press/media visitors to manicures and massages upstairs! Thank you so much Royal & Langnickel!

Overall, it was a very long day for me, but at the same time, it was so fun and exciting to meet and catch up with so many beauty bloggers and Youtubers... in a hall full of make-up stalls! Now.. another year until IMATS again.... *frowns*

Can't wait to see everyone's IMATS haul!!!!!!!!!! (Can you tell how excited I am for the so many exclamation marks?)

Hey there my lovelies! I'm so late for this post! The past weekend has been hectic, I was at IMATS on the Saturday with a birthday BBQ on the Sunday night. I've been lazy, just bumming around... so disappointed in myself!

Anyhows, can you believe that it's October already?
Seriously, the year has just flown by so quick! In a blink of an eye, it'd be Christmas soon! Crazy.
