NEW ON COUNTER (OCT 2015): Australis, Rimmel, Sally Hansen, Innoxa, Benefit, Natio, Burt's Bees, Colour Theory

YEAP. I know.

I never posted this month's #NOC post.. Sorrrrrrrrrry! I also haven't been updating my YouTube channel! Meeep.

For uni students, we are currently heading towards the end of the semester, and so, this is assessment season. I'm so loaded with uni work, and I've also been going through some rough patches within my personal life... so yeah. Haven't been able to update this blog as much as I'd like.

I'm so sorry.. (⋋▂⋌) but I hope you still enjoy today's post! I wanted to merge both October and November products, but some NOV products were available towards end of Nov, so it didn't seem too right to merge em' anymore. Either way, I hope you like this post!

BENEFIT Air Patrol BB Cream Eyelid Primer ($50)
"A BB cream eyelid primer that protects the delicate eye area against environmental stress while locking in eyeshadow and hydrating the skin". Moistursing and contains SPF20. My first thoughts: what? lol. Funky packaging though, haha.

RIMMEL LONDON 24HR SuperCurler Mascara ($17.95)
A volumising mascara, which claims to thicken and curl the lashes. Contains a curling polymer (don't ask me what that is, I ain't no expert) which helps deliver a long-lasting curl. 24 hour curl and volume, they say~

SALLY HANSEN Airbrush Legs Makeup ($26.95/4 shades)
Ok, kinda make-up, but not really. Somewhat, I guess. This is a liquid version of their Airbrush Legs spray. Lightweight, but full coverage and applies easily. Water and transfer resistant, that lasts all day.

BURT'S BEES Intense Hydration Nourishing Facial Water ($24.95)
WHAT. IS. THIS? -- my exact thoughts when I first saw this product, haha. The name and the packaging! Looks so appealing, to me at least. Haha. It's described to be a "facial water that hydrates and smooths the skin", of course, whilst balancing its pH levels and all that. In other words, it's a toner.. yeap, a toner.

COLOUR THEORY Gelato Dreams Collection
This collection was launched on 28 September (so yes, they are in-store already) so I thought it'd be fair to place them in this post, instead.

  • Bronzer Highlighter Duo ($10)
  • Lip Gloss in Frosting ($8) -- NEW shade
  • Lipstick in Citrus Sorbet, Waffle Cone and Cotton Candy ($6) -- NEW shades
  • 5 Step Eyeshadow in Tropical Daze ($10)
  • Define Mascara ($8)
  • Nail Polish in Cool Capri, Creme de la Creme, I Love Bubble Gum, Pistachio Paarty ($4) -- NEW shades

INNOXA 2 in 1 Blush & Cheek Sticks ($18.95/3 shades)
Blush sticks, seems quite appropriate for this Spring/Summer season! Hehe. These blush sticks offer subtle colour and soft and dewy finish. Can be used on the skin AND the lips. As you can see, it is in a stick applicator form for convenient touch ups on the go.

INNOXA Concealer Face Palette ($24.95)
An all-in-one palette for the face. Features colour correctors and two skin-tone concealers. Of course, as we know, the yellow shade neutralises purple discolourations, green reduces redness and purple neutralises yellow undertones, along with apricot which can be used to brighten.

NATIO Limited Edition Radiant Mineral Blush & Bronzer ($19.95/ea)

  • Blusher: A blush palette featuring 5 rosy hues, including a light peach and 4 other dusty rose shades.
  • Bronzer: A bronzer palette of 5 shades which offers a warm bronze. Features a light mocha, golden tan and cocoa brown hues, providing the skin with a golden glow!

THINGS I SAW AS I PRANCED AROUND:
Yes. This shall be a new section of these New On Counter posts. This section includes all the products I've seen as I pranced around stores or on Instagram, etc. Meaning, I have no information about them, except for the.... PRICE! Maybe the price, lol.

INNOXA Pollution Protection  Foundation ($36.95/4 shades @ Priceline)

AUSTRALIS Those Shmokin Eyes & Matte Bronzeyed Girl Eyeshadow Palettes
(Available soon, exclusive to Big W and Kmart)

That's it!!

OK. Sorry, gotta cut this short. Back to assessments I go..  Do let me know what you're eye-ing though!

Looking forward to reading your comments! =)

P.S. If you've spotted any new items that I haven't list, please do share with us!

MANI-MONDAY: Fall In Line

Since my last encounter with an irregular green by Revlon, Spanish Moss ($16.95), I've been gaining more interest in irregular greens, especially the ones with dusty-grey tones.

Last Sunday, as I was prancing around at the markets, I happened to cross a lovely lady who was selling sooooo many essie nail polishes. And so, I hauled home essie Fall In Line, a dusty-green with military vibes.

Fall In Line ($16.95) was featured in this year's fall collection, in June/July. Not sure if you could get your hands on em anymore... limited edition, aha.  (⌒_⌒;)

Took me two coats to hit opacity, which is the norm, really.

It's nice, but I can't imagine myself wearing it again.. especially since us Aussies have stepped into Spring! Time to rock them cute yellows, and warming corals! Kekeke. (*/∇\*)

What do you think?

So many assessments to do, I'm sooooooooooooo stressed! Hopefully I'll get pass them soon. I've many ideas for posts, but I just don't have time to photograph... ヽ(゚Д゚)ノ

NEW ON COUNTER (SEP 2015): essence, Covergirl, Maybelline, Bourjois, Ulta3

A little late this month!

Things have not been the greatest for me. You know, when you wake up and things just change so drastically -- yeah, that has been happening, again. But yeah, it's cool.

Slowly getting through things...

There's not many new products this month, but there are quite a few Spring/Summer collections! I'll start off with products from August.. ^_^

COVERGIRL Full Lash Bloom Mascara ($17.95/available in Black and Black Waterproof)
A mascara with a mousse formula that accentuates the natural shape and length of lashes. The mousse formula is supposed to "prevent stiffness", and the brush "combs and coats for even, full coverage".

COVERGIRL Ready Set Gorgeous Concealer ($11.95/2 shades)
An oil free concealer that covers skin imperfections and brightens dark circles.

COVERGIRL Eye Shadow Quad ($14.95/5 quads)
Feels like every brand is hoping onto these neutral-brown quads, lol. Same with Covergirl. There are 5 different quads, but this neutral-brown quad is the only photo I have of the range, meep.

MAYBELLINE
So I was looking through Maybelline's list of products, and there are SO many products I've missed out on since July, but I haven't heard much about them in the beauty blogosphere? Let me know if you've heard of them!
I've never seen these products in ma life, lol

  • Baby Lips Candy Wow ($6.95/4 shades): A range of lip glosses to keep the lips fresh and hydrated.
  • Color Show Dr. Rescue Nail Care Range ($6.95): Their nail care range, I believe. But I've never seen these on their stands, and they were supposed to be on shelf since two months ago? Waaaaaaa? Have I been out of the blogosphere for that long, that they've discontinued it? Tell me guys!
  • Color Sensational Rebel Bloom Lip Color ($16.95/10 shades): Not sure if this is a new collection, or what. New shades?

As for August releases... I'm sure you've seen these around!

  • Master Sculpt Contouring Palette ($19.95/3 shades), a 2-in-1 palette featuring a matte contouring powder and a cream, pearl highlighter.
  • Eye Studio Moltens Duos ($13.95/6 shades), a high-pigment, gel powder texture eyeshadow.

What are you eye-ing?

I think the nail polishes by Ulta3 are pretty cute. LOVE the packaging! Besides that, I'm really keen on the cuticle stickers by essence's Love & Sound collection, and that gradient blush. I have one from their previous Beach Cruiser collection, Summer Break, so I'm looking forward to collect this one too!

LOVE N' LOATHIN: Velourlips in Rio-D

There's something about coral lips, for me. Especially the bright, poppy ones, like today's feature -- Rio-D ($9.95).

These Velourlips have been hyped for quite a while now, so I've always been keen. Can't remember when I purchased Rio-D. All I remember is purchasing it with another lighter pink shade, Ho-Chee-Min.

Doe-foot applicator

Well, what do ya know?

Both shades are two of the most unwearable shades in ma collection. Can't remember the last time I've picked up such unwearable lip shades... lol. The last that made such an impression was probably Revlon's Nude Attitude (eep).

Rio-D, is an extremely bright... um, coral. One of those shades that you'll see Shannon of Shanxo (Youtuber) wearing. It's not one that many can pull off for its intensely bright hue, and I, yours truly, purchased this with hopes that I will be one of the selected fewer who'd be able to pull off such a shade.

HA HA.

I think I could, and kinda did. Eeek. Its brightness is immeasurable with words. Look!

I wouldn't mind wearing such a bright shade out, but the matte formula does not mix well with the brightness.

The Velourlips are formulated to be creamy, matte, pigmented and long-lasting. The key-term is "long-lasting". Bright colours generally put enough emphasis on the flakes and lines of the lips, and to have it with a matte (aka drying) formula... Mmmhhhm. Nay.

As nice as it looks in the photos, on my lips, you can see every single flake. And streak. It requires layering for a full opacity, but my problem with this is that the more you layer, the streakier and drier it could look.

Sad to say, but I won't ever wear this out for that reason, so I'm not exactly sure how to finish this tube up. It's a miss for me.

Such a bummer.

MANI-MONDAY: Parrot of a kind

Happy Monday everyone!
(kinda... when are Mondays ever happy unless you are at home sleeping in, haha)

I feel like I call every lighter green nail polish "one of a kind", but it is quite hard to spot a light green colour within nail ranges.

They'd have 9 tones of red, 7 tones of blue and 1 tone of green -- that is, mint. Hahaha. The last time I've came across a true light green, was probably four years ago, from Australis' limited edition range. (。・・。)

Well, if you've been prancing around, looking for a true light-green.. This is Parrot ($14.95) by Sally Hansen!

As with most Sally Hansen nail polishes -- no complaints on the formula! (〃▽〃)

Hahaha, as lovely as it looks in photos.. I actually don't quite like how it looks on my nails and most of all, against my skintone. It's just too light for me, this tone of green.

Will be passing this onto a friend, or someone else who'd bring it into better use. Can't see myself wearing this again~ (⌒_⌒;)

On another note, whilst I'm typing up this note, I can't help but fidget with these new make-up products I bought at the markets for $20 altogether!

Can't wait to post about them! ^_^

DUPING THAT: Sigma Brush Cleansing Mats

I'm back again (two posts this week, impressive eh?), but not to haul, review or swatch this time.
I'm back to DUPE

Ok, maybe not an exact dupe-dupe, but it works well and the idea is more than similar, so why not?
I've tweeted about this a long time ago, but not sure why it took me so damn long to post about it, so here goes!

I was prancing around at the markets one day, and came across a stall that sold these rubbery textured gloves and mats. I had no idea what they were, until I saw them at The Reject Shop weeks later.

I bought one anyways, the [photographed above] orange mat with textured honeycomb patterns only costed me $2!

From the title, you've guessed it...

I've purchased it to wash my brushes, lol. They're used for baking, I think. Not sure what for exactly, ceebs researching~ :P

The mat makes a great textured surface to wash my big face brushes! All I need to do is add baby shampoo and a bit of water, then go ahead with the washing process!

The hexagons are a tad bit for smaller eye, concealer and lip brushes, but don't you worry! If you're keen... head to your nearest supermarket, or Reject Shop, skip to the baking/cooking section and you can find yourself something like this...

They have smaller-shaped bumps, so it should be less harsh for the smaller brushes, and not to mention their convenience of being glove-like. They only cost $2-$4 too!

Could even buy them online! ;)

Hope this comes in handy for ya. x

MANI-MONDAY: No-one on the corner have Swagger Like Us

Waaaay overdued post.

This lacquer was kindly sent to me by Australis over a month ago, before I went overseas, haha. Only slowly getting to it now.

Swagger Like Us* ($6.95) was a feature of their Autumn collection, which I'm pretty sure, can still be found at their stockists.

It's a light gold, with a pearl finish -- almost contrasting against my skin tone. *has tanned skin*

Despite leaving it sitting around for over a month, the application was still so incredibly smooth. Most Australis nail polishes are like so, smooth to apply and pigmented, so this one was no exception!

Two layers for full opacity!

On a more non-beauty related noteeeeee, I've started posting about other brands' launches on my Instagram (@the_beautifool). And will be doing so from now (hopefully) for brands which I don't think appeal to my audience ^_^

We all know I'm a bit more of a budget-beauty blogger, so for higher-end products, I've decided to pop them onto my IG instead (with self-made banners, yay!).
